I would recommend this place 10 out of 10, Master Kim was taught amazingly under the guidance of Grand Master Jun Yoon. (I hope I spelled that right.) they're very kind caring but will push you and when they know you need to be pushed. :) read more

Our 6 year old has been attending Master Kim Tae Kwon Do for the past year, and it's been a wonderful experience from day one. The program is top-notch, and the instruction is truly exceptional. Master Kim and the leadership team do an incredible job inspiring the kids, not just to improve physically, but to build focus, discipline, and self-confidence. It's been amazing to watch the growth both in and outside of class. If you're a family looking for a supportive and motivating environment to help your child thrive, we can't recommend this dojang enough! read more

My daughter has been going here since April 2021 and she loves it. We did the trial class and I love that Master Kim teaches confidence & focus! I also like that the kids meditate. It's essential to learning emotional intelligence and something that should be taught in school! It's a little pricey but the confidence my daughter receives from each lesson is priceless. read more

Master Kim's Taekwondo Academy - Picture day! You get to choose your weapon. My daughter is so cool B-) - Taekwondo Near Me - Dublin, California

My 7 year old loves going to his TKD class. It is the ONLY time when he gets ready on his own to be there on time. Master Kim has taught my kid discipline and excitement for this martial art. The only one thing I don't like (and it is not Master Kim's fault) is that parents do not respect traffic/parking rules while picking up and dropping off kids to class. I wish parents would be more disciplined as well and teach their kids through example. Master Kim's TKD academy is fantastic! read more

My 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son have been students here for the last 5 months. We wanted to enroll them in an activity that would be fun for them and teach discipline. My dad was a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo, and I took classes as a kid myself, so I wanted a place that would provide legit instruction in form as well. Focus and confidence are major themes in Master Kim's teaching. In a short time I could tell they were learning these themes as well as learning self awareness and self control. Master Kim keeps the classes fun and appropriately challenging for each class level. My kids take pride in graduating up to the next belt level, which they legit earned! They are always excited to go to class and practice at home. Other pluses include convenient location and easy parking. I'm glad we found Master Kim's Taekwondo Academy. read more

Master Kim's Taekwondo Academy is wonderful. Our son has been attending since earlier this year & he loves it! They are accommodating when it comes to making up classes as well. read more

Master Kim's skill set is off the charts and he is absolutely great with children. My daughter started at this school few years ago as a white belt and she is now few months away from a black belt. Master Kim's Academy is a great TKD school that helped my daughters conditioning, self discipline and confidence. 5 stars!!! read more

We are very disappointed with our experience with the school. My son's advanced belt (red with a black stripe) was taken away without any clear explanation. Instead he was given a white belt. A white belt after 4 years in Taekwondo! I emailed to the school asking to meet with Master Kim to discuss the issue. The request was declined with the words that Master Kim was not available for discussions. In her email Mrs. Shannon stated that "Master Kim explained to all of the students at the beginning of class today, that if they are unable to perform at their belt level they will lose their belt. If your son is confused he can check the Belt curriculum for what are the requirements for Red Advanced Belt.". That did not make sense neither to me nor to my son. He had always performed at maximum at Master Kim's classes. He had not had any discipline problems. My son received the Red Advanced belt at Master Kim's back in January 2017. Since then he's got about 15 black and red rewarding tapes on his belt, - that proves his diligence, not the opposite. After the issue with the belt we made a decision to cancel our membership with MKTA. At the end of the last class I asked Shannon to return my son's belt. She refused to give it back saying that he had to regain the belt, despite she knew that was our last class with the school. Not just for years of tuition, we have also paid fees for all the belt tests... only to end up with the white belt again. And no, we haven't gotten any money back. After years at MKTA what value have we got for our money? Looks like NONE! And if Master Kim is saying my son deserves only the white belt after 4 years at his school, isn't that Master Kim's failure? You might ask, where are all these kids from the video that plays on the screen in the school's window? - They all left and went to other schools! So did we... read more

It is my absolute pleasure to recommend MKTA. My son has been going here for past 2 years and we are extremely happy with his progress. It has not only helped with his martial arts skills but also life skills which is extremely important. Would wholeheartedly recommend. read more

I admire the values and benefits Taekwondo can offer to people and Master Kim by far is a true representation of these values! Not only he is a real Master of the TKD skills but his passion and dedication motivated me to join his Adult class after watching my 2 kids for few weeks! Ms. Shannon was beautifully patient and understanding so she went above and beyond to accommodate our specific needs! I have done TKD many years ago and I'm telling you look no more if you really want a professional and real TKD training, in a family friendly environment! As a bonus, the Academy offers some sort of specials for family members read more

I just walked in to sign up my 3 kids for their lessons and ask for the price and here's how the conversation went (paraphrased): Me: "Hi I'd like to sign up my kids for taekwondo." Reception: "ok did you just email us" Me: No, I just walked in and I'm interested in signing my children up - they are 10, 4 and 3 Reception: we can do 10 and 4 but not 3. Me: ok, no problem, how much for the classes. Reception: oh you have to register for the trial first it's free. Me: ok I will do that but can I know how much are the classes ?? Reception: oh but you have to sign up for the free registration first. You don't have to take the class if you want. Me : ok I will sign up but can I know how much are classes before I do that ?? Reception : oh no you have to sign up first! Me: $&@#% (in frustration and walks out) Is this some sort of high pressured sales pitch ? I just wanted to know how much are classes and if they are available ! Why do I have to be forced to go through a free trial and registration? That comes next if I want to take it or not ! I'm just going to go to another dojo where I can have transparency on prices and availability and which doesn't seem like a high pressured time share sign up ! read more

My family loves Master Kim! Class is so much fun and they're learning real self defense!

Master Kim is an amazing Teacher. If you want the best this is it. The environment is great for students that is a tad shy, this place will help build my daughter's self esteem and we have been to 1 other place that the Master was the bully. Awesome spot to take the kids! Teaches them discipline, exercise and self confidence. Great instructors and family atmosphere...

This guy does not know how to deal with little kids. He hosted a so-called taekwondo birthday party but did nothing but screaming at 3 year olds and humiliated the kids who could not perform the movements with phrases such as "who will be the last one" and punished the whole group if one person can't complete the movement. There was no consideration of this is not an actual lesson but a birthday party and he was dealing with toddlers who had no experience with martial arts period. I don't care that was his teaching style. A good coach would know how to tailor each student's need. At the end of the party, he was proud of he "disciplined" the little ones. He won't be a good coach for your child. Only go there if you want your child to be traumatized with bad teaching. He can't individualized based on your child's needs. Go somewhere else. Don't send your child there. read more

My daughter Sophie loves her Taekwondo class with Master Kim! She joined the Tiny Tiger Class about a year ago as a very shy, hesitant, and easily intimidated girl. Mrs. Shannon is also always very friendly and ready to answer any questions. I highly recommend Master Kim's Taekwondo Academy! read more

I highly recommend Master Kim's Taekwondo Academy. Master Kim is an excellent teacher and great with kids. Our little girl joined class when she was just about 4 years old. He was very patient with our daughter and made the Tiny Tigers class fun. Throughout the months, we noticed a huge change in our daughter's focus and confidence. She was excited to attend class every time and learned so much. His classes are very interactive and high energy. Ms. Shannon was so pleasant as well and always made sure we were accommodated for make-up classes. Unfortunately we had to move out of the area due to a job transfer and we were sad to pull her out of class. He taught our little one so much in the year she attended. She loved it so much and will continue with Taekwondo in the Monterey Bay Area. Thank you for everything Master Kim and Ms. Shannon. You'll be missed. We only hope our daughter's next master is a fraction of what you are. read more

Master Kim has been amazing for our daughters social skills, confidence and 'life skills' preparation. Hayden has become a powerful, strong and confident young lady. Master Kim is great for younger kids (our daughter started going just before turning 4). He's patient with the younger kids, but also has them very engaged in the classes. Master Kim has done a great job teaching concentration and focus to younger children who have a hard time listening or paying attention. His classes are well run, and seeing our daughter progress brings us a lot of joy! read more
