This is a great place for adult beginners (and beyond)! I've been taking adult classes in Sky Martial Arts for almost five years now, and it's been one of the best decisions I've made for my health and confidence. Instructors always create a welcoming and respectful environment where adults of all fitness levels feel comfortable. Classes are well-structured, everyone is nice and very supportive. Highly recommend this school to both adults and kids! read more

We have been part of Sky Martial Arts since 2023. Before joining Sky, we checked out two other studios and did trial classes in order to find the best fit for my two kids (then 5 and 7 years old). Even though Sky was the furthest away from our house, we chose this dojang for the following reasons: 1) Grandmaster Yoon, the founder of the studio was the world Taekwondo champion in his prime and continues to be an influential figure in the world of Taekwondo. 2) Master Yoon who is the grandmaster's son and the current owner of the studio was a US Taekwondo champion as well. This gave me confidence as a parent that this studio was legit. 3) The instructors and masters of the studio are very skilled. It was impressive how they could keep even the youngest students behaving and engaged in class while maintaining a warm and friendly environment. 4) The studio taught not just the physical sport of taekwondo, but also the spirit of taekwondo which is so deeply rooted in the Korean culture of respect. Parents also play an important part in submitting each student's report card on their behavior at home. 5) The studio has been around since the 90's, and the students who trained here as kids back then are still here now as student leaders and even masters. This serves as a huge role model to the younger generation. 6) The classes are divided by belt level, not age. Having two kids in different age groups, it was a huge plus that they could learn alongside each other in the same class. Sky Martial Arts has become a big part of our community the past few years. It has been rewarding to see my kids grow and work hard to advance to the next belt level each time. We also had the privilege of joining the competition team and participating in various tournaments around the Bay Area. I couldn't be more proud when my kids first got their gold and silver medals thanks to their hard work and the masters' training and support. The studio also hosts occasional workshops for the community like Women's Self-Defense class, which I have personally benefitted from. My family is extremely satisfied with Sky Martial Arts and recommend it to anyone--no matter their age--who are interested in learning martial arts. This is the perfect place to book your trial class and begin your Taekwondo journey! read more

As a parent, I can't say enough good things about Sky Martial Arts. Both my boys have been students for a decade now. The positive changes I've seen in them have been truly impressive. The instructors are not only skilled in martial arts but also fantastic role models for kids. They teach with patience, encouragement, and a real sense of care for each student's development. What stands out most is how Sky Martial Arts builds confidence and respect in children. My daughter started at SKY Martial Arts in Oct 2019. She was just a white belt when classes were held online because of Covid. My daughter enjoyed her online classes and did a couple of belt tests too. This was one activity that she continued through the pandemic. The entire staff and leadership at SKY has been exceptional in supporting the kids through their journey. I like their emphasis on a wholistic development rather than just taekwondo. I have seen my daughter become confident but calm in any situation. I would highly recommend SKY for anyone who is looking for a similar program. read more

Excellent teaching and dedicated and caring staff. I tried every martial arts class in town for my son and asked him to choose which one he liked. He picked Sky. He said that he liked Master Andrew because he was kind and brave like a true ninja. I like this place because - it is family owned - everyone has a stake in making it a successful place to be. - Master Andrew is polite and flexible and replies to questions in 24 hours. This is key when you are managing schedules and constantly busy - the classes are small and there are always multiple TAs and teachers to help Most importantly, my son remembers and applies lessons he learns at home. It has impacted him very positively. read more
