We were not communicated that the child had to be dropped there and parents can't even see them perform at practice. This is such an important piece of information that should have been communicated. We took our entire family for this and had planned out the day accordingly. But we were super disappointed and our child was crying end of the day as he was not mentally prepared to be left all alone there. Common white tiger takewondo u can do better

A black belt means learning responsibility, dedication, respect, discipline and so much more. It has also helped me to stay physically fit and mentally focused. Taekwondo has also helped me with balance, coordination, and flexibility. I am in better shape and feel stronger due to taking Taekwondo. We do a lot of exercises, and that has helped me to stay healthy and strong. I am happy that I know how to defend myself. It has also provided me with social benefits and community. I have made a lot of new friends that i look forward to seeing every week. . I have put a lot of time and effort into training for my black belt test. I have trained several times a week for many years now. I've attended three different schools and learned a lot from all of them. I began Taekwondo when I was 7 years old. I attended a school in McAllen Texas called Bob Davies Taekwondo for about 3 years. At this school, I had a Blue belt with a black stripe. Then, I moved to Allen Texas, and joined Master Atkins Taekwondo school. At this school, I earned a Brown belt. That school closed down due to Covid-19 and never opened again. After that, I started attending the U.S. Taekwondo Academy. I have been at this school for about 4 years, and I will take a test for my black belt. During this time I have mastered different techniques. This shows all the dedication, and hard work I've put into training for my black belt. My school offers sparing, and disarms, twice a week. Disarms means to take away an object from your opponent or the person who is trying to harm you. Taekwondo has been in my life for 8 years and I am glad that I am finally going to test for my black belt.

Our 11 year old daughter who is on the brink of receiving her black belt at the USTA writes about…read moreher experience: "Earning my black belt at USTA is one of the proudest moments of my life. It's not just a belt to me - it is a symbol of all the hard work, and determination I've put in over the years. When I first started, I didn't know much about martial arts. I had a lot of admiration for the higher belts and the black belt students who I saw during belt promotions. But as I continued training, I realized it's about way more than just impressive moves. At USTA, they teach us to be strong not only on the outside, but on the inside too. I had to learn discipline, respect, and how to stay focused even when things get hard. There were times I wanted to give up, especially when I couldn't get a kick right. But my instructors, classmates, and family always encouraged me, and I kept going. The process of qualifying for my black belt has been super intense. I had to demonstrate excellence in everything I learned--forms, sparring, board breaking, and self-defense. I was anxious, but I am also ready. When I finally tie that black belt around my waist, I think it will feel like I can accomplish anything. As part of my practice, I help younger students and try to set a good example for them. USTA has taught me that being a black belt can be the beginning of a bigger journey. I'm excited to keep learning and growing. I know there will be more challenges ahead, but now I believe in myself. That's what earning a black belt at USTA means to me."

Master Quay, Mister Jeff, and the rest of the incredible staff made us feel right at home. First off, we learned right away that we were learning Youn Wha system, I couldn't tell you what system of martial arts we were learning before, but it was incredibly modified. We had to learn to properly chamber punches and kicks, and even some new techniques that were not taught at our previous school. With help from the instructors, and a little hard work, we got caught up quickly. Since then my family has gone on to compete in tournaments, gain confidence, and meet new people all over the country, that have been very supportive of our family. We now have two black belts, a red belt, a blue belt, and a green belt. I would strongly recommend Talon Martial Arts for anyone looking to loose a few pounds, learn leadership skills, gain additional confidence, all while meeting great people.
