Taekwondo has also helped me with balance, coordination, and flexibility. I am in better shape and feel stronger due to taking Taekwondo. We do a lot of exercises, and that has helped me to stay healthy and strong. I am happy that I know how to defend myself. It has also provided me with social benefits and community. I have made a lot of new friends that i look forward to seeing every week. . I have put a lot of time and effort into training for my black belt test. I have trained several times a week for many years now. I've attended three different schools and learned a lot from all of them. I began Taekwondo when I was 7 years old. I attended a school in McAllen Texas called Bob Davies Taekwondo for about 3 years. At this school, I had a Blue belt with a black stripe. Then, I moved to Allen Texas, and joined Master Atkins Taekwondo school. At this school, I earned a Brown belt. That school closed down due to Covid-19 and never opened again. After that, I started attending the U.S. Taekwondo Academy. I have been at this school for about 4 years, and I will take a test for my black belt. During this time I have mastered different techniques. This shows all the dedication, and hard work I've put into training for my black belt. My school offers sparing, and disarms, twice a week. Disarms means to take away an object from your opponent or the person who is trying to harm you. Taekwondo has been in my life for 8 years and I am glad that I am finally going to test for my black belt.

I had a lot of admiration for the higher belts and the black belt students who I saw during belt promotions. But as I continued training, I realized it's about way more than just impressive moves. At USTA, they teach us to be strong not only on the outside, but on the inside too. I had to learn discipline, respect, and how to stay focused even when things get hard. We tried this for a month, after the 1st month, after the child gets used to the classes (which seems to be over crowded) they hit you with all that I mentioned above. Maybe it's me... it seems like these this is a Unethical way if doing business. I could understand if they were upfront and honest from the beginning. Now, on to cost as referred to by some other reviewers. Yes, it's expensive. However, you get to go to an unlimited number of classes so you get out of it what you put in. If you go once a week, you'll get once a week value. If you go more, then you'll get more for your investment and see a faster development of skill. Every business can improve, and Tiger Rock is not immune to benefit from a tweak here or there. For example, they really need to pro-rate months like December when they're closed for two weeks. And I witnessed one communication snafu. But overall, we find a lot of value and growth in this program and plan to continue for a long time. Certainly deserving of the 5 stars.

took me a while to finally write a review! read this for a genuine review from a former decade long…read moremember here. i was with the white tiger family for a very long time, went from white belt to a 2nd dan black belt here and then went off to do tkd at the collegiate level afterwards. i think the best part of white tiger overall for me has always been the people there. just such caring instructors and staff and some of my best friends (even to this day), have been made on the mat. also, some of the most fun trips i've ever done have come out of taekwondo too, from new york, austin, seattle, and miami to the kukkiwon headquarters in korea. so many experiences come from the tournaments and detours you'll take as a tkd athlete in life. in general, white tiger has always excelled in teaching poomsae (tkd forms) as well as in tkd demonstration. it's also a very well connected school in terms of the broader network of tkd schools and masters. as such, there's lots of opportunities to participate in fun tournaments and events and really level up your skills. i genuinely think it's worth it for anyone interested to give it a shot and, who knows, it might just become one of the most memorable things you do in your life. just like it was for me! :)

We were not communicated that the child had to be dropped there and parents can't even see them perform at practice. This is such an important piece of information that should have been communicated. We took our entire family for this and had planned out the day accordingly.
