Ameri-Dry Waterproofing & Foundation Repair

This locally owned company encapsulated our basement last week and did a fantastic job. Caleb and…read morehis crew, Zach and Ben, are hard workers, very professional, knowledgeable, and capable of sealing off even the tight crawl spaces we had. It was a difficult basement, and they approached the challenge with the experience and expertise you would expect with this type of work. They left our basement clean and finished. A company is only as good as its employees, and everyone working at Ameri-dry was friendly, efficient, and professional when communicating with us. They quickly addressed our questions and always had a solution. Laura and Kayla greeted us on the phone, and both ladies were pleasant and efficient. They are real assets to the company. Stephen was sent out to do the estimate, did the calculations, explained our options, and after a few minutes in his truck, came back to us with the price. They want satisfied customers and encourage you to call back with any doubts or questions. We are so happy we found them. Thank you, Ameri-dry!

The short version: GoDry is a good company. they communicate well, their work is solid. I 100…read morepercent trust their main workers, and the main owner, Jim. I can give a solid 4 stars, the work is solid and i still have no flooding, but with the frustrations I dealt with out of one of the owners (not Jim), I cannot in good conscience give 5 stars. The downsides: Dealing with one of the owners, the main person that comes out to do the job. The first day on the job, I was lied to and told that a tree branch fell down and bent my gutter, right where the machine was working. I have no trees near the area large enough to cause that kind of damage. I was told it would be fixed, so i didn't argue. After the final check was signed I had to fight a few weeks to get the gutter fixed, but it was indeed fixed. Other issues - I'm told that i can schedule time with one of the workers who does his own side jobs. I come to an agreement with this worker. I wait for 6 months, then start asking for availability in February. This came to a head in late April after getting tugged around for 2 months. I was told by the owner that in order to get some time with the worker, they would have to shut down their business for a day to come out and do work, possibly shutting their business down permanently. I did not appreciate being guilted in this way, but after this conversation they did send allow their foreman to come out and fix a couple things i was owed. A (probably) positive story to share: I was told by the foreman that this was a complete accident, and i do trust him. My water pipe was in the area where they were digging. somehow this came loose and flooded my basement. The pipe was dry fitted many years ago and they believe the weight of the dirt lifting off did cause it to pop off. This seemed believable to me, and they did stay very late on a Friday to try and get me working again. Does running a new water line cost 1550 dollars for 30 feet of pex and digging a 30ft trench, where the wall is already accessible and your equipment is on site already? Doubtful. But I didn't have much of a choice. Backstory: I called GoDry back in March of 2021 to assess my situation. When my wife and I moved into our house about 5 years ago, it was not disclosed that our property's basement floods during sustained heavy rains, and due to the water table we experience hydrostatic pressure. For the past few years, we'd know that if we got over 1 1/2 inches of rain in a short time, OR if its rainy season and we get a lot of rain, we were going to get water in our finished basement. GoDry came out and assessed my situation. Gregg and Jim are professional and take the time to explain their product, and how they think it can benefit our situation. They started work in September 2021 due to being so backed up with other contracts/work requests. During this time Jim would call and give me status updates to know when to expect them out at my home. It took about a month of effort but they were able to dig up the areas discussed and laid down their product. Along the way GoDry would show me the issues, and let me go down with them to their work areas and explain to me what was going on with my foundation and what they were doing to correct my issues. Its now May 2022, we've had at least 2 major rains that would have caused a flooding event in my basement, and we are completely dry. I couldn't be happier with the results.

I contacted Foundation and Drainage Technologies after they were recommended by an unknown person…read moreat another local business. Jordan, the business owner, met with me at my home and took less than 5 minutes to measure my home. Later, I received a quote with a link to sign a contract and submit the 30% down payment. They encouraged me to pay with Cash or Check to avoid a 3% credit card fee, but I opted to pay with Credit Card to have a safety net of sorts. After a lot of delays, they finally showed up and dug a couple of holes then went almost 2 weeks without doing anything, then they came back and dug 1 more hole and installed 2 piers (quoted a total of 9 piers). They also changed the style of piers without notifying me, and their responses to my text, calls and emails became fewer and farther apart until they stopped responding at all. After multiple excuses and the excavator disappearing one day, they quit answering me and haven't shown up since. I'd estimate they completed around $2,000 worth of work (Out of $15,000 quoted), as of today I sent an email and certified letter to cancel the contract and I filed a transaction dispute with my credit card company. A project that was estimated to take 2-3 weeks is now 8 weeks in and less than 20% of the work has been done. I would not recommend this company at all. Now I have to hire another contractor to finish the job and put out another 30% deposit. Also, their website has magically disappeared. If you are a small business, learn that communication is key! A little communication goes a very long way! I've bent over backwards to try and make this work, but I'm done. Sadly I would much rather have supported a small business, but now I'm forced to work with a large company. At least the new company is going to warranty the work of F&D Tech.
