I've had lots of pain and swelling in my body for the last few weeks and was sick of taking the numerous prescriptions I was given. I started looking up masseuses and came across Ofer on Yelp. He had great reviews so I decided to give him a try and wow, I'm glad I did. I messaged him and immediately received a message back and he was able to fit me into his schedule the very next day. Although he is close to me, we decided that he would come to my home for treatment since I haven't been feeling well. He arrived on time and well prepared. He set up quickly and spent a few minutes explaining with a chart, the type of massage we'd be doing and the benefits of it for me. We decided on lymphatic drainage due to the amount of swelling I had. It is a light massage that focuses on the lymph nodes to help them better filter out the various fluid in the body that were causing the swelling. The massage was heavenly. Ofer was meticulous, very respectful and asked permission before massaging certain areas. Both the cream and music he brought was very relaxing. Ofer is well spoken, personable and knowledgeable of his trade. His hands are very strong but light to the touch. His prices for NYC standards also can't be beat! I am writing this review the morning after my massage and I can tell you that the swelling in my feet has substantially gone down! I'm very glad I went with Ofer. As a social bee, I've also met so many patients & regulars, the people here that have shared with me their stories & especially notable is Tom who showed me how they're doing the Electrostim and acupuncture on his head for Parkinson's ; and a multitude of people coming in for their various ailments like knee pain, facial rejuvenation, allergies, addiction, seizure, side effects from cancer [lethargy, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, anorexia et al], a pregnant lady who was breach, hoping to turn the baby (!!!), anxiety, addiction, insomnia, neck & back pain etc. & much much more. Of course, like all things, no treatment lasts forever. But it can definitely build up. We were extremely disappointed to find out that Marcela would not clearly answer our question of "are you fully vaccinated?" We assumed that her hesitation meant that she was not vaccinated, so we chose to leave. Her opinion was that as long as she is wearing a mask her patients are safe, but we do not agree with that. We feel that it is very selfish and dangerous to be up close and personal with health care workers who are not vaccinated, so we could not stay there.
