I can only afford it every once in a while, but if I need an absolute slam-dunk for a special occasion, I always hit up Mitch. The business has its quirks, and if you don't like the rules or the prices, it's best you go somewhere else. But if you're in need of one of the best pieces of meat you've ever had, suck it up and go see Mitch. Call ahead and you're golden.

I have gone here 4 times now since right when they opened, and the latest time being today. I have bought chuck roasts and brisket for slow smokes, some hanger steaks, and today some skirt steaks (I have not tried common things from this shop like ribeyes or strips). Every item I have bought from this shop has been significantly worse quality than Whole Foods down the road, and not even close to the quality of Pattons a bit further towards Norcross/Johns creek. Unfortunately I don't think I'll try this spot again, as they are batting a 0% average on my 4 trips. I hope they can turn their quality around - I would love to have a quality butcher shop near the house, but at their current levels I would prefer Publix.

I feel like adding pickles would balance them out and make them really good. I also tried the smoked wings and got the sauce on the side because, as I get older, I cannot handle spicy food like I used to. The waitress told me the honey sriracha was spicier than the buffalo hot, but I would have to disagree. The wings were okay, but personally, I prefer the smoked wings from Local.
