I had called asking for a quote as I needed this for insurance to move forward with getting my pool fixed. I sent in multiple photos of my pool and was told they would send someone over in the next week to check things out and get me a quote. 4 weeks later after not hearing from them I reached out again to the company and was was told that they would not be willing to do my pool as they can't find a excavator that would come to my place to remove and replace the concrete. I know excavators in my area that I could have set up to work on the pool if needed. I had already had a concrete contractor set up to remove and replace the cement. They never once even came out to look to see what actually would have to be done. I'm also not sure why they were looking for contractors when I know companies in my area that would take care of the excavating. I just felt like they should have told me off the bat they didn't want to do my pool instead of having me wait for something I feel like they never were going to do.

Let me preface this with-- I have never been good at chemistry. (It is safe to say, I will never excel at chemistry.) To recap. The saga that has been my hot tub threw us down a rabbit hole of 1. flat work being done, 2. electrical being installed-- and then 3. an insane amount of chemicals being bought. There's pH increaser... and of course pH decreaser. We have bromine tablets and shock. There's testing trips. And a buttload more I don't even know... Originally, I was like-- eh, let's pop on Amazon and get some stuff. Well that quickly resulted in so many questions. We soon realized we required someone to help tell us exactly what we needed to do and how to do it. Alas, Blue Lagoon Pool & Spa. Located conveniently on the Coralville Strip. We went in and said we have this hot tub. They said... you need this. Away we went. Then a few days later we tested it and the levels weren't ideal-- we called. They said you need to do this. We did that... another few days later we test again. UGH. So we bring in a sample to Blue Lagoon Pool & Spa. We get a print out of what is up-- and a step by step plan on how to rectify it. Additional chemicals are bought. Boom. It is a work in progress. But having a local brick and mortar and ACTUAL PEOPLE to come to when we have no flipping idea what is going on with our hot tub is invaluable! The staff is knowledgable and friendly. There is a dog in the store, often, named Clover. Chemicals seem appropriately priced (though-- again, owning a hot tub requires a lot of them. It can get a bit pricey.) My only qualm is their hours are a bit hit or miss, especially on weekends. Just be sure to call ahead! Come give Clover some belly rubs and get your hot tub pristine wit the experts at Blue Lagoon Pool & Spa.

They then offered some options to resolve the issue. So thank you again Patio Pleasures for fixing an impeller on a broken pump motor. I think better customer service would have been to tell me the motor's fried before replacing the impeller. But I guess they didn't care if the motor was working properly. They just changed the visually defective parts and didn't bother with the rest. Patio Pleasure's service guy was even here at the house after the repair so he heard and felt how hot the motor was and he told me that "sometimes they run hot". Yeah they run hot, when they are dying!

I asked for an update about 7 days later. It took a couple days for a response, but I got it. He had to order parts. About 10 days later he sent me a pic of the repairs. A couple days after that, a pic of it running without leaks. A couple days later he delivered my hot tub. About 3 weeks total. The price was right in the middle of his high and low estimate, which I felt was very reasonable. He asked for a few hundred down payment before pick up, which was a bit unnerving, but he had to drive almost an hour to my house so I can understand he's not working for free. The remainder was paid on delivery. The work looked really good and I've been using my tub with no problems.
