Dr. Walker's in-home care was ideal for my cat, as veterinary office visits were very stressful for her, especially as she grew older. Dr. Walker utilizes multiple integrative medicine modalities and always allowed my cat to to tell her what she was interested (or not interested!) in receiving that day. She is incredibly knowledgeable in multiple hands-on treatments, current research, supportive devices, supplements, and herbs. My cat grew to love Dr. Walker tremendously. When she was recently experiencing acute medical issues and received new complex diagnoses that would have interfered with the care of her other chronic conditions, Dr. Walker was very communicative with me and helped support the decision-making process to transition my sweet 16.5 year old girl. When the day came (only a little over a week ago now), my husband and I could not have been more grateful to have Dr. Walker helping her transition in the comfort of our home. The process was so gentle and peaceful, and I know it's partly due to the amazing relationship that Dr. Walker had with all of us, especially my cat trusting her to be the person helping her. I will remember Dr. Walker's kind and compassionate presence, and the way that she supported us through a very difficult 2.5 years for the rest of my life. I can't stop thinking about how perfect the day that my cat crossed the rainbow bridge was and we couldn't have done it without Dr. Walker. She's truly a gem and I highly recommend her care.

When my dog started having swelling from an immune response, my search for the right vet was deeply taxing, as vets were quick to offer one unsuccessful option after another and move on. My dog, Ophelia, has been under the care of Dr. Walker for roughly two years now. In this time, my dog's health has improved and I have felt seen and listened to in the process. It takes true passion and calling to continue learning in the way Dr. Walker has chosen to practice. I am so grateful to have found her as my veterinarian, and can't share enough about how invaluable she has been as a healthcare professional in my dog's life, and how deeply appreciative I am for humans like her.

I've been With Steamboat 27 years. it was a great clinic when Dr. Murphy owned it but since it's been sold, it's steadily gone downhill. I've had several problems with them but at the most recent problems. I got a new puppy and had all recent spay and vaccination records from the rescue organization. I called Steamboat to bring her in to establish a new pet And get flea meds. Although they couldn't get me in for 2-1/2 months they wouldn't sell me or give me a rx for flea meds. But what finally made me leave the clinic was when my 6 year-old dog became seriously I'll. They couldn't get me in for 3 weeks. So I took him to urgent care. Urgent care wanted me to follow up in 10-14 days with my regular vet. But Steamboat still couldn't get me in. We went back to urgent care and again they advised me he needed to be seen by my regular vet soon to have bloodwork and xrays. Steamboat could only get me in several weeks later for a drop-in visit. Staff was rude and failed to call me back. I'd drive to Seattle to get him seen asap but fortunately I found 3 other local vets who could get him in immediately. Steamboat is not a clinic I would ever take another pet too and wouldn't recommend them to anyone who cares about their pets.

Too many people don't understand what has happened to vet practices in the last three years…read more Thousands of senior vets retired because they wanted to protect their families from Covid. Ditto vet techs. Meanwhile millions of people adopted pandemic pets. We knew this and knew we were LUCKY to have Steamboat Animal accepting new clients. We expected a two month or more scheduling window and we gave early puppy shots ourselves. We loved the careful attention given to our dog once we reached the appointment day. We feel we are in capable, caring hands. We are amazed at the good nature of the staff, knowing how often they are grumped at by people who are living in the past when same day appointments were a thing. A pox on those who scream at schedulers. This is a professional clinic doing amazing work in terribly challenging times for their industry. I am glad they are still going strong, even if heavily laden
