First time getting massage at this business. I was met by Tammy the owner and who also does the work. I have multiple health issues including chronic muscle pain. I've had this pain for years, tested for fibromyalgia, RA, lupus etc. Been on pain meds on and off and didn't get the relief I wanted. It's pretty challenging to say something different than the other 5 star reviews for Tammy so I'm just going to say that she's absolutely Wonderful!! I hold a ton of tension in my neck and shoulders and she was able to work out the knots like it was nothing!! If you are a germaphobe like myself and covid scared ya quite a bit, do not worry her home studio was SPOTLESS and she made sure that your hands were cleaned and everything was sanitized before you even sat or laid down. I scheduled a sports massage with Tammy a little over a week ago to help treat a nagging knee injury. The moment you arrive at her studio you are greeted with a smile, and someone who wants to understand how they can help. After a brief chat, she recommends a treatment. My session was for 90 minutes. The first thing I noticed was how strong and skilled she was in deep tissue massage. I liked that her studio has natural lighting, tranquil surroundings and calm music playing in the background. She also offers entertaining conversation for no additional cost:) I benefited greatly from her massage and stretching techniques which coupled with my PT has improved my mobility. Tammy is an awesome lady and an awesome massage therapist! I've had sciatica for about 3 days that has put me out of commission. I couldn't sit, lay down, or stand without being in excruciating pain. I texted Tammy and she was able to squeeze me in cuz she knew I was hurting. Once I got there, everything was very clean and professional. For the next 90 minutes she gave me a pretty intense sports massage, but explained to me that sciatica requires a massage that is a little harder. It wasn't anything unbearable tho, as she's very skilled in being firm, but keeping it within reason. And she even checked on me the entire time to make sure it wasn't too much. As I write this review about an hour after my massage ended, I feel about 80% better! Which is amazing considering I could barely walk into her office cuz I was in so much pain! My daughter gave birth just 5 days ago. I'm visiting for awhile to help with the baby. Labor was intense and sleepless nights had her back and body in knots. And the stress alone...child birth is not for sissies. I decided to buy her an in-home massage and we were lucky enough to find Tammy. She was sweet and kind and attentive to her specific wants and needs and also did stretching after the massage. My daughter has had many massages in her life and she swears this is the best one of her life. EXTREMELY unprofessional!!! Shocked at how I was treated after writing this review! False advertising - due to the fact that you did not provide some of these services you display on your website as far as specialities & techniques. Also, my experience was not pleasant. Tammy did not create a relaxing environment. When I arrived I realized it wasn't a business it was an apartment (Tammy did not tell me this on the phone) as I arrived, there was a trash bag outside of her door that she had just put out before I got there. When she welcomed me in, she was finishing up cleaning her apartment and started short talk. We then went into the small massage room in her small apartment, which would've been relaxing if her cat wasn't walking around everywhere purring as well as other noises. She did put on some music but Tammy talked the whole 2hour massage about herself, and was boasting about how she went to a weekend resort that cost $10,000, about her rich lifestyle and more. I don't mind if a masseuse talks or wants to converse but it wasn't a two way conversation. It was listening to her talk for 2hours. It was not relaxing at all. I also kept telling her my specific needs as I suffer with Fibromyalgia and she would do what she wanted and would not listen to my directions. I'm a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and I've gotten massages for almost 10 years now, I just would not recommend this service if you're looking for a professional massage and ESPECIALLY professional massage atmosphere! After I wrote this review, I then got a message from Tammy on yelp which I posted below. I'm highly confused as on Yelp she is telling me she did none of what I said and that I am a "hater." I've played sports my entire life so I've always been an advocate for proper recovery. Stretching...BCAA's...Cryotherapy... and whatever else was said to work. Tammy is amazing! I had a pulled muscle in my neck that had been going for two weeks. I went to a chiropractor who made it 100x worse and then to the doctor who just gave me pain meds to cover the pain. I finally decided to try a massage and i am so glad I did. As someone who doesn't really enjoy massages she made it as painless as possible and within two days of the massage I was able to move my neck from side to side which I hadn't been able to do for over two weeks. She also made sure not to over do it in the injured area which was something the chiropractor did not do. Her space is also extremely nice and relaxing. My first intial visit with Massage Therapy LA was an amazing visit. The back story begins with a back injury, lower lumbar, that happened while building my home. I did something silly and bent over and stood up to fast twisting. My masseus was full of questions trying to discern my needs. After explaining my injury she explained what she was going to do and how I would feel a few days after. She was experienced and knowledgeable about the body and really helped loosen the area so that I was automatically mobile and walking! I am so pleased to tell everyone I am now all healthy! Tammy is simply great at what she does! I've been suffering from lower back pain recently and couldn't even sleep the other night when I returned from my vacation because the pain was so bad. Went to Tammy for a massage after going hard in the gym all week. My back was in knots and just overall tightness. First off Her place was very clean and peaceful. She started the massage with a back adjustment which felt heavenly. I could tell I needed it. And was a great addition to just a massage. I then moved to the table and she went to work. I paid for a 60 minute but because it took a little longer than expected she kept going until she finished the job which was probably an extra 15-20 minutes. Left her place feeling like a new man. Tammy is absolutely amazing! Ive been so stressed the last couple of weeks and it has flared up my chronic neck and upper back pain. Along with that, I started showing symptoms of Pulsative Tinnitus the last couple of days, where i would have this pulsating-throbbing-heart like-beating in my ear. Not painful but aggravating. Needless to say I needed a way to relieve the stress and anxiety my body is going through. I found Tammy on Yelp and read the great reviews so I messaged her to see if she can squeeze me in in the next day or 2. Few minutes later, she replied back and was able to fit me in today! She was willing to work with my schedule as well which was great! Upon meeting her, I could easily tell this is going to be a great experience! She was very pleasant and welcoming! She offered water to drink and even asked if i wanted it cold, or room temp lol. Her whole set up in her home is just great! We talked majority of the time and laughed a lot during the massage but it didn't interrupt my treatment or her ability to give my body the attention it needed! Omg let me begin by saying Tammy is a miracle worker! I threw out my back so bad that I was completely immobile for 4 days. A trip in the ambulance is how severe this back was. I suffer from sciatica and it causes me horrendous pain. I found Tammy on yelp and gave her a chance due to all the positive reviews. I was scared at first because I didn't want to make it worst, but she eased my mind with all the knowledge she had. I hoped on her table ( she came to me) and at first I couldn't even lay on my stomach cause of the pain, so she put me on my side and started working on my right hip and sciatica that way. Within a couple minutes I was able to lay on my stomach. She did her thing, once we were done I could actually walk, the pain was about 80% gone after.
