I have been going to another foot massage place near Bellaire and the beltway for years. Today I could not get in for a few hours so I tried this place. What a disappointment! The woman who did my feet seemed like she never did it before. She spent 25 minutes on my left calf between interruptions to go to the lobby when other customers came in! She never did my FEET! The man that did my friend was good, but we had to wait for him to get to the salon. Our appointment was for 2:50 on Saturday and we were the only ones there! That should have been our first clue! I went here to stay local and because it had good reviews. It was rough. I have a lot of experience getting massages from different places so I had a lot to compare to at the same price point. It was a 60 minute massage. The place was dark, not in a peaceful way, but moreso cold. I also wasn't allowed given a choice of massage therapist even though i'd made an appointment in advance. I was told to wait in the room while someone assisted me shortly. I waited to 15 minutes before someone showed up. Then the massage started. The best way to describe the massage was amateur at best. Think of asking someone who has no experience giving massages. It was painful. He sat on the table and put all of his weight onto my back and rolled his arm onto my skin to the point where it felt like carpet burn. The whole time I was thinking "when will this end?", which is the last thing you should think during a massage. He also had his phone with him in the room and the ringer was on. The phone rang and he answered it! It was so loud I could hear the person on the other line (a scam caller). Then he kept getting texts, and he'd stop to text back. Totally unprofessional. Also, I understand people's language levels are different, and not everyone's first language is English, but none of the staff (two people total seemingly) knew how to speak basic English. I was greeted awkwardly, she didn't speak ANY English. I asked multiple times where the restroom was and she could not answer. She just kept telling me to pay. Know one tells you where to go or what to do they just leave you in a room. If you don't get massages often, people don't always know what to do and want to feel welcomed and comfortable. One day I was so sore from work and decided that I needed to get a message. That weekend I did so and looked up the one nearest to me which ended up being Massage Tao. I got a full body massage and it was a very great experience. The business was very well furnished, decorated in Asian style and beautiful relaxing music. The staff was very professional and the massage I received made my body feel relaxed right away. The price wasn't bad and I just happened to have my massage before 1PM which is the end of happy hour so my massage came out to be less. I will definitely come back more often. I'm surprised this place gets such good reviews, maybe just mine was bad. I get weekly massages at home and am visiting from out of town so thought I'd try this place. I did a 60 min body massage. I asked for "hard" pressure but it became painful very quickly because she did not know the human body very well. I had to ask her to stop what she was doing several times because it was hurting, which I've never had to do before. She was raking over bones, putting hard pressure in super sensitive areas, and not really massaging my muscles much at all. I've also never had a massage where I wasn't flipped over. Overall she just had no idea what she was doing. This certainly wasn't worth $60 but what can you do. read more

This place is very cute and tranquil but for a foot massage it doesn't cut the cake. The lady was very friendly but 90% of the foot massage she focused on my legs which the pressure was too hard . When she got to the feet it was painful and I guess she could tell how I tensed up because she ask was I okay which I told her no I was not . Also If you're getting the foot massage and want privacy you won't have it unless , you're getting a body massage then you can go into the rooms . The price was good. I payed 20 for half an hour . It was my first time trying a NEW massage place in search for a more experienced masseuse technician. The massage I received was unlike any other I've ever experienced. As the session began it was surprisingly easy to relax and, thanks to their soothing music, I found myself imagining I was in the middle of a relaxing rainforest. The massage was so intensely great I thought only Cleopatra queen of Egypt would be receiving a massage like this (in 25 B.C.). Full disclosure: it felt like, probably, the toughest massage I have ever received. She ignored my attempts to motion for less aggression, but in the end it made my body feel glad (and relaxed). My suggestion, if their moves are too painful for you - tell them to use less pressure. Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied with their technique. I'm definitely going back soon! My experience had only one downside: I was asked to pay before the massage. I am used to paying after. I felt like I was not being given the opportunity to rate my massage and tip accordingly. My usual massage place is closed on Sundays so I found this place on Yelp. I've been meaning to write this review and keep forgetting until now. To give you an idea of what to expect, it's beyond basic but not 5 star fancy. The place is clean and most importantly, the masseuse gets the job done. I've been a few times and have gotten the full body massage and foot massage. The full body is in a private space so a lot more relaxing. Personal preference, I prefer the foot massage since it includes a mini full body session and for a better price. The foot massage is in a shared space, which is not bad. I can hear the door open from time to time and some dialogue being exchanged but I can still somewhat relax. The only reason why this is a 4 star and not 5 star is the inconsistency in the massage. This place assigns me a different masseuse every time. Some are good about asking if the pressure is okay and making sure I'm relaxed. Some will just do what they think I'll like. I've had versions that felt more like reflexology which is not bad but it's more of a painful good. It's harder for me to relax during it. This is minor but I think the amount of lotion/oil use makes a big difference too. When it's just right, it's a lot more relaxing. With very little or no lotion, I can feel the friction more and it's not as relaxing as I would like. Overall this place is decent. If you're looking for a place in the Klein/Spring/Champions area, it's worth checking out. If you're able to go before 1pm, you may get a $5-10 discount on your service. read more

They had lots of different packages like foot and body for an hour is 30.00, to full body massage with scrub, and any other type of massage you could want for. I will say the waiting area is tranquil. Other than that, my husband and I went to get a couples massage for our wedding anniversary. I was beat, my butt was not covered which I had to adjust multiple times. The man who did my massage actually got on the table to put his entire weight on my back and I could not breathe to tell him to stop. I have burns on my back from the hot stones. I never had warning for anything. Not to mention I made an appointment DAYS in advance and they were 45 mins late to get us in. He was rough and extremely unprofessional. Long review alert: I'm 15 months removed from a totally severed right achilles with reattachment surgery. I have nerve pain and stiffness in that area and my toes. Aside from this, my left achilles is so tight, due to over compensation, I had been afraid of it snapping as well. I thought that I would have limited mobility and pain for the rest of my life. My wonderful husband told me to try MASSAGE TAO. I did so and I feel like my pre-snapped self again. I got a 90 minute massage and the following happened: I walked in and was immediately greeted, paid for the massage, walked into a tranquil, dimly lit, minimalist room. It was clean with no weird smells and no weird build-up in the corners. The clean paper-clad massage table was in the center of the room with ample space to walk around. Overhead are 2 rails suspended from the ceiling. She directs me to undress and she walks out. I undress, she walks back in, asks my problem areas and my response was, "My whole back side is a ball of knots". This therapist is so good, she started at my feet, realized everything below my knees was jacked up, so she stayed there for one whole hour and the last thirty minutes everything above my knees got worked on. My nerve pain was gone for 2 days, my feet were no longer icicles for 2 whole days and my mobility improved so much that I actually felt like I could go for a run. OMG, I'm so thankful to my hubby and Massage Tao, I'm actually moving forward with an improved quality of life from physical therapy to massage therapy. GRATEFUL!!! read more

First of all... Don't let the outside fool you! The interior is very nice, clean, and modern! I went in for a couples massage and it was very nice. We got an hour full body massage. I had a guy do my massage, and my boyfriend had a young lady. Disappointed that I didn't get the walk on the back experience that he did. I also wish they had more of an aromatherapy thing going on. Instead I could smell the breath of the nice man who did my massage, and could tell he's a smoker. Regardless, it was a nice experience. Very nice people!
