This is my second time coming to this location. My first time was GREAT with Kerri. K!! My second appointment, NOT so great. I came Wednesday 12/11/2024 at 12:45pm. My appointment was scheduled for 1:00 with Shema. When I walked in, the ladies at the front desk were on their phones with their head down. While in the waiting room, there were 2 other people waiting and they were all called before me. It is now 1:07 and my masseuse calls me to the back. I can tell she's rushing and moving fast. During the massage she spent 90% rubbing lotion over my body instead of massaging my body. She moved very quickly through the massage instead of taking her time and working the knots. When she was finished, I looked at the time and it was 2:00 on the dot so I was concerned about the 7minutes that she was late and I was not reimbursed for the tardiness. When it was time to check out, the ladies at the front were still on their phones with their head down and immediately asked if I wanted to leave gratuity and I told them I've already done so in cash and I also stated that I wanted to cancel my membership. They didn't want to know my concerns or why I was upset not wanting to continue my membership. They just informed me that I have to have the membership for 3 months before cancelling. After I finish my 3 month membership, I will NOT be returning because I feel like my money is being spent on girls who play on their phones all day and my masseuse didn't show any concern about being late nor did I get reimbursed for the tardiness. read more

I've been to a few in the Winston-Salem area and those one's are really nice but this one needs a lot of work. my massage therapist came in five minutes late and ended 10 minutes early, which is frustrating to me because massages aren't cheap. The positive thing that I will say about is the front desk ladies are super sweet super kind. Go to head and stone instead . I won't be back. read more

I just had an amazing 90 massage by Llamar. I walked in not able to lift my left no high than shoulder and knees aching with arthritis. When I left out I could raise my left arm up above my head and my knees felt like I had just injections. My hips felt great. read more

Scheduled appt on a Monday night for Tuesday at 4:30 pm. Tuesday morning, I called to see if any earlier appts were available? None available, I was also told that if I changed time, I would be charged a cancelation fee. Why? Because I essentially would be changing therapist and canceling. Ok - weird but no big deal. So heading over to my appt for 430pm, I am 2 mins away at 4:11pm. I received a call stating my therapist had to cancel because they had to leave. I understood things happen but nevertheless, where is my cancelation fee? I quickly realized that Massage Envy does not want my business, and I will oblige them. This place houses two of my favorite things! Great massages and stellar staff members who want to know the very best ways to service your needs. There was a very thorough intake procedure, and the chains share this information within their network of nationwide spas. The masseuse has a detailed chart to refer to as you are being worked on. It highlights the areas in where you don't want to be touched in bright ted. This avoids embarrassment and maximizes your time on the areas in which you want treatment. My masseuse was very communicative, and I appreciated that. They had accommodations here that were new to me, but really enhanced my experience. They had a breast pillow for women who are very well endowed. On a comfort level this was a game changer, and in terms of service... Well, color me impressed. This chain speaks to me on a community level. I appreciate that they employ locals of many skill levels while being environmentally conscious They are largely paperless. Way to do your part in reducing paper waste Massage Envy! Also, they happen to sell my skincare here. It's a medical-grade cosmetic line called Obagi. I usually order it online, but this way I can pick it up locally, and because of my love of community I do enjoy buying locally. read more

This place is nice. They have many locations and the prices are great. I went to get a message from here and the person who did my message was nice. I ordered an hour massage and with medium pressure. I was able to tell her what areas to focus on. When I walked in was greeted. I had to fill out some questions on an iPad which took about 5-10min and then I was called into the room. I was told to get undressed and she would be in the room shortly. The room was chilly to me. I have been to in massage room where they are somewhat warm and calming. This room was chilly I was ready to get to the heated bed. The masseuse was nice. She talked to me for about 10 when she started to massage me. That made me feel comfortable. It can be weird at times with someone touching you who you don't know. The price was good. I got a basic massage and it cost me $70 and I ended up leaving a tip for my masseuse. I will come back to see what other services they have. read more

Stay clear of this place on Mallard Creek Rd. Charlotte if you value your time because they will not. I'm just leaving without a massage because my therapist "got stopped" as I was told. Not sure how long her "pull over" May last but last ticket I received I was only held up for ten minutes....anywho! This will make the third time I was asked to reschedule within two weeks and I will not for a third time. I will try another location. If it wasn't for this being a Father's Day present, I would totally toss the gift card in the garbage as should they with their customer service. read more

My massage was fine; however, the front desk assistant manager was acting super stressed over some technical thing. The way the employee acted was unprofessional to the customer next to me. She was *sighing* and seemed so stress. Now my problem is that I came in to get a relaxing massage and the environment is not promoting an energy of relaxation AT ALL. Coming out of a 90 minute massage and feeling the frustration of an employee not contained was poorly handled. Secondly, it took forever for me to checkout because my gift card wasn't activated or expired. Get your shit together. Even if my massage was fine, the impression left on me was tainted due to the customer service by the front desk staff. YOUR SOLE PURPOSE OF BUSINESS IS TO PROMOTE RELAXATION AND I'M STRESSED OUT MORE AFTER MY FUCKING MASSAGE. Never stepping into this University Area ever again. Taiah and staff cancelled my appointment on me. I got a new debit card, didn't have my new card on file. When I show up to my appointment, they notify me it's cancelled. However, if I cancel my appointment the same day of service, they take my credit anyway. BUT if they cancel your appointment on you, there is nothing they do for you. I spoke to someone on the phone, telling her I would get my account current before my appointment (which I did) and they still cancelled it. Did they bother to call me and tell me my appointment was cancelled? No. I've had nothing but problems with this place and I regret ever signing up with them. read more

I have been going to massage envy for over 2yrs and I have a membership. The therapist I had was horrible, he first massaged me with gloves which was totally uncomfortable. Then could not provide the level of pressure that I requested. This was the worst experience I have ever had at Massage Envy, but I will not be using this location ever again. read more

Only pay cash! DO NOT give this place your card info. They told me I wasn't on a contract.I asked them to stop charging me and they said I would have to keep paying to get access to all of the hours that I couldn't use during the shutdown. They called and emailed asking everyone to continue pay for their hours and they would get perks. But now the only way to get access to those perks is to keep paying. It's a hustle. The massage therapists there are awesome. Just pay cash if you go or you will get robbed. read more

The worst Massage Envy in the franchise. I have been a member of Massage Envy for over 5 years and this is the last time i give the University location a chance. I called today to make an appointment for my friend and I unfortunately I had to cancel due to scheduling conflicts. It was literally 10 minutes after I booked the appointments. They charged me the $10.00 anyway. i called back to see if i could get it back but the said it was policy and i would still be charged. I asked to speak to a manager and they said she would give me a call. I have gone to several different locations around NC and the university location has the worst customer service. All they had to do is refund my $10.00. I will be telling everyone I know how horrible that location is and all this for only $10.00. It would be nice if someone got back in touch with me and we can resolve this mix-up. read more

I signed up for the monthly massage appointments right before COVID and they refused to cancel my membership. I am now stuck with 12 months of massages I am being forced to pay for unless I wear a face mask. Soon as I finish paying for ALL my unused visits I will never seek service there. Ok. I received a gift card for Christmas. I am now just using it (LOL). First of all, the reviews I read before coming indicated it would be a good appointment. I was not disappointed. When I first walked in the office I was greeted by Miche ( I may have spelled incorrectly). She was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very relaxing before I entered to receive my massage. My masseuse, Ashley, was awesome. I highly recommend her for a full body massage especially if you need deep tissue. She worked out all of the tension in my neck and back. I loved the recommendations from Ashley and I will definitely return. read more

I had a an account with massage envy. I was told when I signed up, if I no longer had a job I could cancel my membership and I would no longer have to continue my membership. Well, I no longer had a job, I had missed 2 paid for months, I was called. To my surprise, not about the months that I had missed, but about my declining credit card. The credit card was a Healthcare savings card with my former employer. When I told them that I no longer had a job, I was told that I had to provide proof. When I told them that I no longer wanted to pay for any services I was told that I would loose the 2 months I had already paid for. My appointments dates would change without being told. read more

They talked me into signing one year contract without explaining small print. Literally. Then they were accusing me for not thinking clearly because I signed the contract after one hour of massage. Really? They are never available when I needed it then you have to make an appointment a week sometimes a month ahead if you want a good massaus. I go to the Chinese massage place in concord mills ( the one near best buy) and they do a wonderful job for a half of a price. Scheduled an appointment on Thursday for my mom's bday this morning (Saturday) and got there, and it was set up for next week. When I called on Thursday, I asked, "do you have any availability on Saturday?" If she was giving me availability for a future Saturday, beyond the approaching Saturday, she should have mentioned the date. She said, "I have an opening at 10:30am on Saturday." So I snagged it. I hate to be confrontational and leave bad reviews, but I went in for a massage earlier this week that was subpar. There seemed to be lack of communication from the get go to where my massage therapist did not know that I was there, so we got started about 10 minutes late when I showed up about 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork and such. my massage therapist then was very overwhelmed about getting started late and was rushing and talking very fast. I informed my therapist that I have a lot of issues with my back and neck and that I usually like to do only upper body especially since I haven't had a massage in a while, but they convinced me that they can work out all of my knots and still do full body. Needless to say, I regret agreeing to full body for one. The first half of my massage was so rushed that the friction on my back was making me itch. My neck was worked on for maybe a few minutes. There was no deep tissue, which I had requested. I am now having to use a shiatsu home massage device because my back and neck are still in extreme pain. read more

They never have products in stock, it's impossible to get an appointment, they are over priced and very DISHONEST about payment and business practices. I went in to Massage Envy off Mallard Creek yesterday to treat myself to a facial for my birthday. The employees were very kind BUT my masseuse talked the whole time, preventing me from relaxing. She did not have materials out and ready, she was unwrapping things and I could hear her every move. Then she put a Vitamin C/ Collagen cream on my face and hands, it smelled terrible! I could not wait to go home and scrub it off. Then to top it off, they were extremely pushy about getting a membership, telling me that today my facial was $59.99 because it is my first visit and if I join it will only be $49.99 a month, but if I don't join then the next time I come my facial will be $88. Clearly, I JUST WON'T BE BACK. read more

I do think Massage Envy is quite overpriced for their services, but I didn't have a bad experience. I've been a handful of times to various locations and the customer service has always been good. As a matter of fact, it's almost confusing how many people you deal with. I checked in and spoke with someone at the front desk, and was then brought to a "relaxation room" where I filled out a form. A young woman came in to take my form, and I thought she was my masseuse, but then she explained how the process would work and went over the form with me and said she would give it to my masseuse. Then, my masseuse finally came in after and took me back to the room. The staff are friendly, and follow up about appointments with phone calls. I always feel like the massages fall short of the scheduled time (i.e. 50 minutes turn into 45 minutes) but I really enjoyed mine with my masseuse. She did a good job working out my upper limbs stress, and explained some stretching exercises I can do daily to try to prevent my tense build up. read more

I received a $100 gift card for a massage. Normally my friends give me gift cards to Modern salon and Spa in South Park but they thought since there is a message envy one block from my firm that I would enjoy going there. It was enough to cover 2 massages so maybe I could go twice. When attempting to make an appointment to use the gift card I was unable to do so. They require a credit card to book the appointment. I explained to the scheduler that I had a gift card which more than covered the $49.99 they advertised for the massage and would give her the gift card number since they already got the $100 now I'm just trying to use the gift card. They stated that I must use a credit card to book the appointment. No problem. I had a $50 visa gift card, I'll use that.... Nope.... Can't uses visa gift cards either. Must use a card they could bill monthly. What!!!!! My friends recommended I give them my Amex number and then immediately cal the bank and report it stollen! Why should I have to do that!!!!! I refused to give them access to my AMEX or my bank account by providing my debit card number and since they won't honor the gift card not really sure what to do with it. I was told I could use the card to by products in the store but not to get a massage. Wow! They really should make that disclosure BEFORE someone buys the card.
