I advised at intake I have arthritis and I was 750lbs I done 250lbs and my body still aches from your surgeries having the fat removed! I advised my attention areas ie: my feet(mandatory), my legs( mandatory) , my arms and shoulders! This guy massaged the heck out my gluts to to point I was having an orgasm ! He massaged my entire body very thoroughly but he DID NOT TOUCH MY feet and I have pretty feet that was just newly manicured ! I definitely enjoyed my first experience here. The introductory price is great and the masseuse was very professional and thorough. I got the 50 minute basic massage and liked how they got to you pretty quick. The rooms are nice and the heated tables are comfortable. The masseuse I got was very strong and did a wonderful job without me having to ask or guide her in any way. They do try and sell you their membership which's okay for their type of facility. The staff is focused on you, but also trying to get you through quickly to help the next person, which makes sense as busy as they are but not as relaxing feeling. Sorely disappointed with how this ME location chooses to conduct upselling. The commissioned representative marketed the membership to me as a month-to-month subscription that rewards you with a monthly free massage and subsequent discounts for massages during that month, but when I went to cancel my membership a few months later *suddenly* they were fine with letting me know what I had signed was a one year contract. So even though I no longer have a need for routine massages (my recent jobs have less stress placed on my back and shoulders) and even though I no longer cost this location a penny they still bill me monthly for the sole reason that they are able to do so. To make matters worse the manager I spoke with about the matter was incredibly smug (going so far as to say she was "sorry I didn't understand the membership before signing"), never updated me about the conversation she'd have with *her* boss (assuming she actually had one), and they continue to spam me with emails about promotions (despite no record of me coming in for *any* of their services for months now). The Google review I left was answered with a generic PR response and a link to a feedback form which was never followed up on. Nobody from this location or *any* ME reprehensive has reached out to me, and judging from the other negative reviews for this location regarding difficulties canceling/freezing memberships I'd imagine that other folks have had the same experience. In a perfect world the manager would have simply apologized for the confusion the commissioned representative caused, "tore up" the contract, offered a refund for the months where there services went entirely unused, and we could have parted ways on decent terms. Instead they realized they could use me as free and passive income, just as they have evidentially used two other people I am close with. In their mind they have me tied up by the contract and they don't mind a few negative reviews. All that I and others mislead by this location are able to do is leave reviews such as this in the hopes that other people choose the book with licensed freelance massage therapists who don't have a manager breathing down their neck pressuring them to reach sales goals. EDIT: Just as was the case with my Google review this Yelp review was met with an automatic response from the location requesting that I fill out a survey. And as with that Google review's response I have not received any sort of actual response following that survey's completion. I've been going here and and off for years. I've had a variety of therapists, and now consistently use LeAnn. I've also been to other massage envy locations...and I agree that this one has good customer service. Of course they're going to try to talk you into a membership. It's like going to the gym. I've been a member for close to 10 years. If I don't use my massage one month, it rolls over. So I've ended up with a good number, which means I can use them for 90 minute sessions. Massages are meant to be tailored to the person. If you're not the type to say what you like or don't like, you'll be dissatisfied. If you don't want the therapist to talk, then ask her. read more

I know now why this massage envy has shit reviews and I should have read them before scheduling. I had booked a couples massage for $260 and was on my way to the appointment and got stuck in traffic. I called before my appointment started and let them know that i was going to be 30 minutes late. Instead of asking... they canceled my appointment and charged me $260 and told me I could reschedule but i would still have to pay ANOTHER $260!!! I spoke to the assistant manager Emily and was willing to get a shorter massage and pay the full price but she said there was nothing she could do about it. Horrible customer service. read more

Paying and paying, even through a year long pandemic we have been paying. We have amassed a whopping 25+, 60 min massage credits! There is a massage Envy out here near us but, they never have an available massage therapist when she finally finds time to go, and since scheduling out 25 massages is about impossible for a career women with a husband and three kids it would take months and months to use up that many massages! THEY LITERALLY WANT ME TO CANCLE SO THEY CAN JUST KEEP ALL MY MONEY WITHOUT GIVING ANY MASSAGES... I almost had this all worked out after calling the location out here in Flower Mound... I spoke with a young professional woman who understood the situation for what it was and she came up with a perfect solution! She said she was going to give half of the massages to ME (the payor),so that we could use them up faster. We were so happy and thankful! Makes sense to take care of your paying customers this way right? This is a no brainer right? You would think so but, you would be wrong. I came here yesterday for my first ever massage, so I wasn't sure what to expect going in. My masseuse took such incredible care of me during my session that now that I'm back at my job site, my entire posture has adjusted on it's own. HORRIBLE Service and management!! I don't recommend at all. Not professional at all, this location acts very money hungry. Within the last month they took 2 hour sessions off my membership account , I was a few minutes late, that's fine I'll take responsibility but same thing happened at the Murphy location I was a few minutes late due to being my first time there and not knowing the area they still provided service and were wonderful to me at the Murphy location. However, I didn't want to go back to the Rowlett location due to the horrible service and attitude they have towards clients. I have gone there in the past and have had to wait for others to be done. I don't understand whey they changed people can be a few minutes late just in traffic sometimes. Rowlett location is simply the worst. I transferred a session to a dear friend of mine and the Rowlett location changed the appointment time on their own and because she went at the original appointment time they wouldn't accept responsibility and charged the full amount anyways without providing any service. I have been going to this ME for almost 2 years now. I drive over an hour just to go to this location! I absolutely love it! I have had massages done by many massage therapists of whom include Danny- who is no longer there but was a great massage therapist and very knowledge! I also saw John and I did not like him very well, that happens sometime you don't jive with everyone. My favorite massage therapist is Jason! I have been seeing him on a regular basis for over a year now. He always knows the right pressure, very personable, he makes you feel comfortable instead of that awkward silence you sometimes have while getting a massage. I would recommend him to anyone wanting an amazing deep tissue massage. Now don't get me wrong I have had issues with the AC not working, construction noise while getting a massage and more but I still prefer this location. This facility has seen me for the last time. I have been to this facility twice. The first time was okay. Today was not. My husband has a membership and has transferred one massage to me. I walked in today with the impression that the same was happening. However, at the end of my session, I was told I owed $79 for the (mediocre) massage. The owner told me, "He (my husband) knew you would have to pay full-price today, but he knew you wouldn't come if you knew that." What?!? For my birthday, I decided to pamper myself and get my first massage. I hear great things about massages for relaxation, de-stressing, and how great it is for runners. Arrival: Everyone was courteous, no issues. I filled out some paperwork, and communicated my tense areas. There was a guy who may have been the owner there, who told me about some "bragging" points for this location as I was checking in. Massage: I met Danny, a therapist that was knowledgeable and a new massage school graduate. I have no issues with Danny, he knew exactly how to address the knots in my neck, back and shoulders. He told me about the techniques he was using as he went through them, which I liked. I was comfortable with his method and that he explained what and why he was doing what he was doing. Great pressure and time spent in trouble areas that I knew i had, and other troubled areas I didn't realize I had. Room: My biggest issue was environment. Being this is my first time, I had no idea there was supposed to be a table warmer. I told my therapist I was cold , he said it was his first time in that room, and he had no idea that when he turned on the warmer, it wasn't working. The AC Vent was blowing directly on to the table/me, so every spot on my body that was uncovered and getting massaged/kneaded was very cold to the point that I was tensing up, and the therapist Danny kept reminding me to relax. He agreed the temperature was colder than usual, left the room 2x to complain about it being cold, and brought me an extra blanket to accommodate. He even leaned over me to block the vent from blowing on me because I think it was obvious that the chilly air was working against us. I could not feel relaxed with that temperature. I even had to cover my face and nose with blankets. Danny apologized a million times for the AC and the table being cold. It was a new room for him, and both of us knew it was not ideal conditions. Leaving: I was glad to just get the introductory rate, $75/90min massage. I told the ladies at the front about the room being so cold, that Danny tried his best and I couldn't fault him for the environmental conditions, especially since that was his first time in that room. I tipped him well. The worst part about paying and leaving, was that these ladies could not stop trying to sell me on a membership. I had to cut them off, and reiterate calmly and slowly: NO, I did not have a great experience (as I just finished explaining), I am cold and I hate feeling this cold, I just want to pay and go home to take a hot shower. I was clearly tense, and they were perhaps too young to know how to stop following their closing script to accommodate me. At this point I just wanted to leave instead of complain to a manager. I've been to the Rowlett location twice. The first experience was really good. Unfortunately, the same massage therapist was not available on my second visit yesterday, which was the worst massage I've ever had...I repeatedly asked the massage therapist to apply more pressure and she would not alter the amount of pressure. It was so light it felt more like she was just applying lotion to my skin than giving a massage. It was a waste of time and $95. I felt no better than when I came in. To top things off, when she handed me a cup of cold water at the end, one of her hairs was in it. She immediately noticed, but instead of throwing it away and giving me a new cup with water, she just pulled the hair off and handed it to me anyway. I did let the front desk know how disappointed I was with the whole experience and that I had tried several times to ask for more firm pressure. Hopefully no one else has the same experience. I was really skeptical going in. My darling husband bought me a very generous gift certificate for Christmas 2014 and I used it to buy the year membership. I figured this place would be way under average as I have had massages in resort spas and upscale places. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are comfortable, music is very nice, and the therapists were all very good. I never saw the same therapist twice, I always scheduled my massages around my schedule rather than the therapists schedules so I was able to get a sample from all different kinds of styles. I have been happy with everyone I have met, I have never left unsatisfied. I would like to mention two therapists by name: Mohammed and Cynthia. Mohammed is wonderful and very knowledgeable on the musculoskeletal system, if you are an athlete and have athletics related injuries, GO SEE THIS MAN! Cynthia gives the best massage, I was light headed when I left and had to sit in my car for a minute before I drove. I was really able to relax. Her touch was just light enough and had just enough pressure. She is VERY GOOD! If I was not moving in a week, I would book with her again. I give the massage therapists 5 stars as they were all great. I give Massage Envy 4 stars because I have a suggestion.............Perhaps, in order to remind people who have bought memberships to come in and get their pre-paid massages, a courtesy reminder phone call is in order. I have heard a lot of negative feedback about Massage Envy because people get memberships and don't book appointments so they are mad when the money comes out of their accounts. This was never a problem for me, I set a reminder in my phone to book the appointment, but maybe Massage Envy could be proactive and make reminder calls. But I called spoke to a manager and was given a discount. Let me just make it clear that this company doesn't care if you might possibly be infected with COVID 19 they still want you to come snd if you choose to not come to avoid potentially spreading a deadly virus to others then you lose your almost $70 massage that you PAID for. Unfortunately I had to cancel short notice due to being sick and I FULLY expected to pay a cancellation fee. However, I did not anticipate losing an entire $65 massage that I paid for. Very sad that this company is so stuck on money they are willing to put their staff AND customers in harms way. This is by far the worst company to make a contract with. A total SCAM!!!!! I was a member for a long time, I had several massages left and in order to keep them I had to keep my membership running. I froze it for certain amount of time, of course I was paying for that too! My membership was over, I didn't renewed it and they sent me several letters threaten me to report it to the credit agency. First time ever going to a Massage Envy and was less then satisfied. They have you fill out a form of what you want so that way they know what to target while giving you a massage. First, the massage is not an hour it is a 50 minute massage which is false advertisement. Secondly, while filling out the form I put that I did not want talking during my massage and what happened for the first 20 minutes the girl kept asking me questions about Taekwondo. Thirdly, I asked for a full body massage and my feet, hands, face and head were not touched at all. I walked out of there needing another massage. I went on a gift certificate and was talked into joining and signed a 6month contract and only went once in that time and after my contract was up I thought it was over.WRONG they kept billing me and I didn't realize it for a few months so I called to complain and they said it auto renewed! I told them to cancel and I faxed the form and still kept getting billed for a few more months and again called and they say I had to come in to do it! I went in and filled out the papers to freeze it so I wouldn't loose all the massages I per paid. My paperwork says froze until August but they say it's frozen until April! I told them I want to just cancel and that say when they unfreeze it I will be billed again for the time it's frozen!!! Wth!!! They do all they can to keep getting your money! Scammers!! Crooks!!! My husband bought me a 1 1/2 hr massage as a gift because he knows I've been stressed lately. I was excited about my appointment and the relaxation it would bring. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and the receptionist was friendly. They ask alot of questions and have you fill out paperwork but I really don't think they pay attention to your needs or requests. I specifically told them that I did not want a deep tissue massage but I felt like thats what I got. Even during the session when I expressed discomfort, the technician continued to press deeply on very sore spots. I wish I had been more firm about how uncomfortable I was. After the session, I told both the technician and front desk that I was extremely dizzy and nauseated. They said that was normal and to drink lots of water. Then they spent the next 10 minutes trying to sell me a membership package. I finally told them I was really feeling sick and needed to get home. I continued to get more sore overnight and by midnight I couldn't even turn my neck side to side. My back ached all over. The following day I called in sick to work because I was in so much pain. When I called that day to complain I was told to try Epsom salt and a warm bath. Then she recommended that I come back for a more relaxing massage after I got to feeling better. She said, "Dont worry, we will even charge you just the introductory price again". I thought, "Are you kidding me? The last thing I want is another massage at Massage Envy. I just wanted to call so that maybe in the future they will really listen to their clients needs. I am very disappointed:-( read more

I am more than happy with this location and actually look forward to my massages each time. The front desk is super friendly and I am comfortable contacting them anytime. I am Deaf and it is not always easy to find a place that is easily adaptable to what I need. They do not mind that I call through an interpreter on VideoPhone and are always very clear when I come in. The massages are always thorough and targeted to what I ask for each time. As a teacher and a signer, I use quite of bit of muscle movement during the week and stand/walk all day everyday. The Happy Place Massage Envy Spa, doesn't that sound like the place to be. It's a place where people go to not only relax but to adjust themselves physically. You can tell right when you walk in. The music caught my attention at first, it set the mood. Tranquility. The customer service there is outstanding. They're holding doors for you, greeting you with smiles, and they make the experience very enjoyable. They have so many different massages it's hard to choose just one. I stuck with the swedish massage, a massage for relaxation and usually what first time people get. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted at first, but the front desk really helped me out and gave me tons of information about the types of different massages they offer. The different enhancements they have allows you to customize your massage how ever you want to. I love the Deep Muscle Therapy!But the sugar foot scrub really relaxes my feet aswell, and saying that, the massage therapist Larrie gives the BEST foot massage. They also have four different types of Aroma Therapies. I'm not a big fan of Aroma Therapies but they do smell awfully good. They have different therapists there that are certified for different massages. The therapists they have there are very good listeners and really connect with you during the massage. The whole clinic all around is marvelous. They are membership based, which is good for customers that come frequently. If massages aren't your thing and you wouldn't go there on a regular basis, I wouldn't suggest the membership. I can say the prices are kind of high, but cheap if you compare it to any other spa. It really just depends how often you will visit. I can say I will be back, I felt more than welcome there, and I will recommend the Rowlett Crossing location to anyone. I've always been very happy with this place. Of course, I've been a member for over 7 years so they have no need to try to sell me a membership, and it looks like most of the complaints are regarding the membership issue. I need deep tissue massages just to get relief, and have been super happy with Heather and Jeremy. The only issue I have is that they don't work 24-7 and it's hard to get in to see them! The only time I've not been happy is when I've tried a new therapist that supposedly does deep tissue. Sometimes it works out and the therapist is great; other times, not so great. Some of them say they can do deep tissue and they really don't have the skills. I just remember the names of the therapist's that I don't like and make sure I don't schedule with them again. I should also mention that I've had some facials here as well. I don't remember the name of the employee who gave them to me, but she was super, super nice. read more
