Love this place! Had an hour and a half massage with Dave today. Went in with a headache and some neck and shoulder pain, came out feeling like a teenager again with no pain at all. He made sure that the pressure he was using was not too much for me. He had a soothing voice but only talked just enough for me to be comfortable with him. I would highly recommend him. The massage room was clean and cozy. The receptionists were very friendly and professional. I was offered a drink while waiting for the therapist. Whe I was paying they offered to book me another appointment and helped me figure out the correct tip. (I received a discount off the actual massage as I haven't been there in a while so I wasn't sure what the full price was). On February 9th, 2019 I had an hour massage with Kathy(Kathleen). After my massage I went to the front desk to confirm my two hour massage for February 24th with Christine and to ask if the last 30 minutes of my massage could be foot flexology. It turns out they had me scheduled with a male massage therapist and not Christine. I rescheduled my appointment for February 23rd at 1:30 with Kathy(Kathleen). When I had not heard from Massage Envy confirming my Saturday appointment by phone or email I contacted them to and found out that they never made the scheduling change and still had me scheduled for February 24th but changed the therapist to Christine. I was explaining myself to a male associate on the phone who put me on hold and put some woman on the phone who was rude and unprofessional. I called back at 4:47 pm on February 22nd and asked to speak with the manager. I was told she would be back in an hour. I waited and called back again at 6:21pm and they told me she had not returned. I called back on Saturday morning, February 23rd and spoke to Daniel only to find out that Mayuri the manger was away and would not be in all week. I asked to speak to the covering manager and I was told their was no one. I asked for the owner contact info and they could not provide me with any information. You never leave your business unattended for any reason. I have read many reviews complaining about this particular Massage Envy. As a customer paying for services which I purchased and not being able to receive them is totally unacceptable. The Massage Envy in Plainview is unprofessional and unresponsive. Bad experience here. if i could give it 0 stars I would. I had a 7pm appt and waited there for 15 mins. Then I was told someone took my appt and staff was confused and did not know what to do. This was the first time I went to Massage Envy and was not a good experience. I only tried this place because my regular place Massage for Wellness in Hicksville was booked. I set up an appointment for my sister and I the night before on a whim. I usually have pretty significant back pain and have had massages at a few different places but none that have alleviated the pain for more than a few minutes. That was until I met Erin at this massage envy location. She listened to exactly what was bothering me, targeted those areas and in a way that was like magic, worked out my knots without pain and did something with my leg that stretched my back and made my hips even again. I have been a massage envy member for probably 3 years. They have so many locations now that if you have a house in florida (like we do) or in another state or you are traveling there will likely be a massage envy that you can go to. Plainview is my favorite location because for me Kim is the best massage therapist I have ever used. The massage is so soothing and relaxing, sometimes I find myself sleeping and wake myself up bc I don't want to miss a minute. I have tried other massage therapists in plainview and also in farmingdale and nobody compares to Kim. If you are looking for a relaxing (Not deep tissue where u are in pain after) then Kim would be an excellent choice. read more

I went with my mother on Monday at 1pm. We booked a massage and a facial each. The massage therapist was ok. Our massages were average, nothing extraordinary but nothing to complain about. My facial was not good. I have sensitive skin and eczema, which is why I don't get facials often. I never know if I will be have a reaction to a product so Itry not expose my skin in that way. I have had a few facials in recent years, not at Massage Envy, and they have been ok. I have not been in pain before, like I was at Massage Envy this weekend. On Monday, I explained my sensitive skin situation when I filled out three very lenghty forms at check in. I then explained it to the therapist providing the facial. She asked about my daily routine and I explained. Then she applied something that gave me a burning sensation. I asked her to remove it. She did, with something else that was burning me. She then told me she was going to apply a seaweed mask. She applied it and left. She left me there for about 15-20 minutes alone with the mask on. I could not believe it. What if I needed her to remove it? She then came back and had me sign some papers there while on the massage table. I was very uncomfortable with the experience and just wanted to leave. I was partially blaming myself for going, since I know I have sensitive skin. But then I asked my mom about her experience with the facial, and she also said something was applied that irritated her skin and she had to ask the therapist to remove it. My mom does not have sensitive skin like I do. I am very disappointed with this experience at Massage Envy. read more

I received a gift card to massage envy and decided to schedule an appointment after work. I went online and scheduled an appointment for 8pm. At 7pm I received a call from woman telling me the computer system shouldn't have let me book, they don't know why it did and I would have to reschedule because the other appointment was made a few weeks prior. I explained that I understood having to honor the longer standing appointment but when I asked what she could do to get me in since I had planned to go, the woman very rudely told me she doesn't know what she could do and to pick another day. I explained the few upcoming days I was available that I checked online were booked and the woman told me she didn't know what to tell me and it was not her fault or her problem. i normally visit the Plainview location and the therapist i use his name is Zorran, and he is the best. believe me i have tried a few...the only thing getting an appt, is sometimes a little tough. so give yourself time. the location is very clean and customer service is always pretty good. Worst run business I have ever dealt with! The managers and owners never get back to you! I paid for the 6 month membership and was continued to get charge for 4 additional months when the employee that sold it to me told me it would just be 6 and would note not to do the automatic renewal! I know have 8 massages saved up that now they told me I only have a month to use! Who uses 8 massages in one month!? Once you pay for a massage it should be yours until you use it! It's paid for by myself and I lose them? The managers are never available to speak with in person or on the phone because I have tried several times! Massage envy is clean and professional, not some pop up shop behind a new industrial park. My experience was with DARRELL. I can say he was easily the most knowledgeable and experienced masseuse I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. While simultaneously keeping the tone of the meeting at a level of calm heretofore unexperienced he was also able to wow me with his strength and knowledge of the human musculoskeletal and nervous system. it sounds like bunk I know. But I cannot stress enough how impressed I was with his ability and knowledge of his craft. I swear that I will be returning to massage envy, and that every instance in which I do I will be requesting DARRELL.hopefully he has not raised the bar of massages so high that I cannot enjoy another without his presence. I went in because my back pain was causing too many sleepless nights. I already suffer from migraines I didn't need this too. I really wasn't expecting much. A relaxing environment, a decent massage and that is about it. But my massage theorist,Christine, was amazing. She not only made my first time every getting a massage a very comfortable experience but she also recognized the problem really quickly. I had a lot of trigger points in my left shoulder and neck area. She did some intense work and I was a bit sore after but it was defensively worth it. I ended up getting a membership with. Since Yelp deleted my first review....here's another one. I go to massage envy in plainview for a multitude of reasons. I, like every other NYer I know, am stressed out. I also have a joint condition where my muscles and ligaments aren't as long as they should be. Because of that, I get really bad leg cramps...some where I can't walk without major pain. Massages are my hero. Gina is fantastic and keeps me walking. She knows exactly how to get rid of the knots and the stress. I've definitely spent an hour just on the backs of my legs and Gina has gotten me back on my feet, literally. Before coming here, I've had a few really bad massages. Like dislocated shoulder blade bad. Gina knows her stuff and can even tell you why something is hurting and what's connected to what. I find that to be fantastic...the more educated my therapist is, the better the result. When I just need to de-stress, get those knots out or just stretch muscles I am the worst at stretching on my own, I go here. I scheduled two massages about two weeks prior for a Sunday afternoon. Friday the appointment was confirmed and everything was set to go. Sunday, an hour prior to my appointment I receive a phone call that my therapist wouldn't be able to accommodate 1 massage and that I could re schedule for another day because they couldn't accommodate both. Why would I want to reschedule only one appointment while it was clear I was coming in for two massages. The man who called was completely unprofessional and unaccommodating. I work in a customer service industry where we make things work to make customers happy. I requested the manager call me and I was told she would call me back if not that day the following. The following day still no call I called to follow up. I was told the manager was off until Tuesday. It took the manager almost three days and multiple messages i left to finally get an answer. She told me the next availability for two massages wasn't for another two weeks but she would enhance the massages for the inconvenience. Fast forward now to today , the day before my massages. I get a confirmation call early afternoon and everything was set. At around 7:15 i get a call that the therapist won't be coming in, she was cancelling her book due to bad weather, and which bad weather is no longer even forecasted for tomorrow. How do you stay open for business but already know that you won't come in due to weather that hasn't even happened or allow one employee to decide to cancel an entire day ?? the girl told me if she decided to come in they would call tomorrow and i could keep my massage. Again i requested to speak to a manager and shocker No manager is there. Working in a customer service industry this is not the way you treat customers. I will never set foot in Massage envy Plainview and if i could give 0 stars i would. I received several gift certificates after my first child was born 2 years ago and decided to finally start dedicating some time to myself. I opened an account and accumulated 14 credits on my account and after a brief but inspiring conversation with the manager Mayuri, I decided to book an appointment for a facial (microdermabrasion) and she matched me up with Margaret. I was greeted by two absolutely fabulous receptionists Liz and Mikaela who were all too sweet. It's so nice to encounter front desk staff that are kind, and understanding. They totally understood understood that as amazing as massages and facials are, life can get in the way of pampering yourself with luxuries. They were not pushy to make any future appointments and were quite understanding that I need late evening time frames and it was such a nice feeling to feel like you are welcomed any time of day there and not a burden for the sale. I was nervous with the microdermabrasion, that it would be painful or uncomfortable but Margaret is a true gem. She explained the procedure and true to her word it was painless and my skin looks amazing. I booked my next appointment for one month later with her, and any kind of advance commitment like that for me is a big deal right now. For anyone that experiences any issues there I assure you Mayuri is there, and she is compassionate, and reasonable. Margaret opened my world of pampering to now include my face! And those two front desk girls need to be recognized because it's sooo important that businesses understand that it's not just their product or service, it's the human connection and feeling most commonly executed by the administrative staff/reception desk that set the tone for you're experience and they were like angels delivering me to my own personal cloud and when my time to float was over they gently walked me down to earth and seemed to care about my experience and my return (in a gentle, non pushy, compassionate manner that makes me just want to come sooner). I had neck surgery and sat around for 3 months. My body was very tight. I also have a frozen shoulder. I was looking for someone that would stretch my body to open it up so I could start workout without pain. I found massage envy who was the only place that offers stretching. Along with physical therapy, stretch has been a great compliment to my recovery. Adam is very knowledgable and gentle in what he does. Massage envy does not properly inform the customers regarding the rules to use the services when your membership is expiring. Yes, I did sign a paper a year ago, and it had 2 pages of of very little print. They don't call to advise you that your service will expire and do zero effort to try to help the situation. Manager Mallory, pretends to be nice, but does nothing to help, because that is her job, do nothing. That's not nice. Well, I feel I was robbed. Never again. Will make a formal complain to corporate. Update: after talking to corporate, it looks like the individual owner may extend membership so I can get my treatment. Now we have to see if the owner contacts me and makes it right. Update 2: I was contacted by Massage Envy Plainview and they did give me a complementary facial. It's too bad that it took writing a bad review and contacting corporate to make it right. I called Sunday afternoon and made appointments for my husband and I for Monday night for massages. It was our anniversary. They took all my information INCLUDING my credit card info. Fast forward to Monday, my husband and I arrived 15 minutes early and were told they had no appointments. And they had no record of either of us in their system. We were beyond disappointed since we had gotten a babysitter and as I stated before, it was our anniversary. They basically told us they couldn't do anything for us. The manager wasn't there so, my husband has them call her who also basically did nothing for us. She said she would call me back today because she was going to looking into it. I never heard anything back. I'm in the same type of industry and this is a terrible look for the business. Also, I cannot for the life of me understand why there isn't a higher up in the building during business hours to resolve such issues. As I stated before I'm beyond disappointed. I haven't had a massage in years and finally decided to treat myself. Firstly, the massage felt skimped out. You get maybe 45 to 50 minutes of therapist time and my massage therapist was so chatty I didn't even have a chance to relax! By the time I turned over, moved bolsters and blankets for repositioning you're probably getting about half an hour of treatment. Mediocre-eh massage at best, my spouse can do better. They do try to get you to purchase yearly memberships. The place is not what a relaxing spa should feel like. I was disappointed and left stressed as ever! read more

Horrible. I give this place one star because they give great massages but the manager does not care. My friend and I have attempted to contact the manager multiple times. We left multiple messages and even stopped in and she was never there. How does a company run without a manager? We tried to cancel our massage package a month before they even cancelled it and got charged for another month after that! When we got our packages we were told that our packages would only be for six months and not there stupid automatic renewal.. Well she obviously lied to us because we found out they charged us for an extra four months. I did not receive a single call about my massages until AFTER I cancelled my membership. I don't even care about the 8 massages that I will never use. Apparently after you cancel you only have a month to use all of your massages.. The owner said she would give us two months but that doesn't help at all.. all I requested was the money for the month after I asked to cancel my package and they could not even do that. But what's worse is I came out of my massage with a definite allergic reaction. My eyes were noticeably swollen all around my eyes and my lips were swollen and tingling. They did nothing. I gave this place a try after receiving a gift card for a massage. I've been to a lot of spas locally and when I travel for massages. I was very pleasantly surprised. I noticeably felt better well into the next day with less tension in my neck and shoulder area. I had Liz, that was who was available at the time I wanted, but she was great. She was very concerned with the pressure being just right and hitting the spots I needed. Not too much conversation - just right. This is one of the first times I really felt like it was more than just a luxury, but truly a therapeutic experience as well. I ended up converting my gift card into a membership and plan to go back regularly. I saw all the comments about the front desk here, I was there on a Saturday morning and didn't have that experience. They were friendly, checked me in quickly and I don't recall them talking to each other at all. I have a fully positive experience from start to finish. Even the membership sell at the end wasn't a hard sell. They were giving me the options and accommodated my request to make it a 3 mos membership rather than a year. I purchased a massage for my wife for two including tip the week before Christmas ang left with a nice bag with gift card to put under the Christmas tree. I did not realize that 2 days later, the manager Sheena called my house informing my wife not to use the gift card just yet because there was a problem with their credit card machine thus ruining my surprise on Christmas morning. Sheena did not seem to care but after I blew my top, she gave credit for one massage but one of the co-owners, Sheldon, called to say that the credit was excessive. Surely I blew up again and just told them to credit my card. I would not want to be treated at a place that was run with such imcompentantcy.
