I have been going to see both Adriana for facials and Taliya for massages for a while now, and I just love both of them. Adriana has been working to personalize my skincare for me and my specific problems. I've done regular facials as well as chemical peels and every one has been great. She's very thorough in explaining the uses of products as well as aftercare. Recently, I've been doing oxygenation facials which have been great for my skin, but today I tried a brightening treatment which includes not just your face but also your neck! She did this lymphatic drainage facial massage during the treatment, which was incredible. I'm always so relaxed that I'm practically asleep by the end. Taliya is amazing. I've always found it very hard to find someone who does a really good deep pressure massage until I found her. I have a very tight neck and upper back with knots that have been there for years. She really takes her time and works on every one, and I always leave feeling detoxed and relaxed!! Highly recommend giving these ladies a visit! read more

Sigh...I hate writing negative reviews but here we are. I came here for a prenatal massage, which I was really looking forward to, and left feeling like I wasted time and money. Admittedly, I was a bit late to the appointment (about 10 mins) but no one mentioned anything about this cutting into my massage time. I can understand if this is part of the policy, but it should be made clear upfront. On top of that, the therapist also ended early, meaning I paid for a 60 minute session and only got ~35 minutes of actual massage time. The message itself was just...not great. We started on my side, and after a while the therapist asked me to move to my back so she could work on other areas of my body. Generally it's advised not to lie on your back during pregnancy, so I asked for an extra pillow. The therapist basically said that if she left the room to get me one, it would cut into my massage time even more, and suggested folding the pillow in half instead. I found this response really upsetting, to be honest. I shouldn't have to choose between getting a prenatal massage safely and getting one for the amount of time I paid for. Aside from that, if a business is going to offer prenatal massages, they should be equipped to do so safely (for example, with foam wedges) and without penalizing the person getting the massage. TL:DR, if you are pregnant and you want to get a prenatal massage...please, please, go somewhere else. read more

Don't bother with the membership. It's nearly impossible to use. Six months in and 0 used. Kudos to the staff being good at upselling. Have to book weeks out, and god forbid your schedule changes. Norwell front desk is pushy as others have commented, and other locations treat you better. Thanks to the front desk hanging up on me today to motivate me to leave a review! They cancel your appointment the night before you're supposed to go in with no explanation whatsoever. Then when you call they say that they needed a card on file and they left a message. Hmmm no call or message received. This is unacceptable. I'm not booking here again. read more

This place is criminal. You buy a gift for someone, pay in full and they keep charging your credit card. You call again, straighten it out and it shows up again, and again, and again. Never give Massage Envy your Credit Card. They try to hit your credit card over and over again. These membership places should be against the law. Buyer beware. Watch your credit card statements. The 50 minute massage isn't worth the monthly stress of having to call, be put on hold, and then argue about them charging you. BEWARE!!! read more

The therapists are good but Massage Envy doesn't have nearly enough of them so you can never get an appointment without booking out weeks in advance, so your hours pile up. If you cancel your membership, you have 60 days to use up all your appointments (my husband and I have about 14 hours to use between us) but they don't have any appointments available at any location so you'll end up paying them for a service you can't use. You can transfer your hours (within the 60 days) to someone else but that doesn't solve the 'not enough therapists' problem. My advice would be to DON'T do the membership thing at Massage Envy -- you have plenty of other options available for massages these days. We are going to cancel as soon as we can figure out how to use up our time. read more

I agree ​the front desk is SUPER pushy. I am a member, so I don't get harassed. I did witness a woman getting the "hard sell" from the front desk staff today. I was super close to saying something, but she shut them down really quick. Good for her. 2 stars for the front desk. My 5 stars is for Kathy and Kathy alone. She is incredible. Very unwilling to work to accommodate their clients. Rude front desk staff every time I've been there and rude manager as well. Today I was HUNG UP on very abruptly, which I'm upset about but honestly not surprised at. The staff here have been awful every time I've interacted with them I've been a member of Massage Envy for years but I will not be going back to this location. What a shame, because if you can get past the rudeness of the gatekeepers the massage therapists and aestheticians are actually decent people. First time - massage with Shelly...she's a pint of peanuts but the massage was amazeballs! Just the right amount of pressure and the way she worked on my tense spots it was like she had a 6th sense. She checked in during the massage and made sure it wasn't too much pressure, which it wasn't. As a non practicing graduate of a MTI (now Cortiva), I'm pretty critical but she was great! I have been seeing a therapist/s her bi-weekly (every three weeks when i cant make it in two). Previously i was going just when i felt i needed a massage but now i have been won back over and i am keeping up with it on a much more regular basis. The receptionists have been really kind when i need to call and reschedule or change my apt time. They seem to really want to accomidate clients and are not aggitated on the phone- although this is how it should be, it isnt at many places. I have found two female therapists there that i think do good work- deep swedish. One works Sunday and Wednesday and the other Monday and Wednesday. So as long as i can go one of those days im good. i have also seen a few different therapists that have done a good job- im not going to say great but good and such a fair price. I've been a member for 6 years, originally out in California. I have been to spas in over half a dozen states, and this is my favorite. Everyone is friendly and the therapists are consistently good. Keri, in particular is amazing. I had the best massage of my life from her a couple of weeks ago. I just got another 90 minute to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Even better than the first. read more

Mark is AMAZING! It's too bad that the other reviewers had bad experiences -- they must not have seen Mark. I suffer from chronic pain, including back pain, and he got every spot I needed. I really appreciate how friendly he is, and he has super strong hands. I told him not to go easy on me (lots of folks will say they don't want to "hurt" me because it could make my pain worse, which is not the case -- the customer knows his/her body and should be able to gauge that for himself/herself). Mark LISTENED to me, which is also not as common as it should be. I told him to break my soul, and he did. It was a good pain because my pain is so deep and stubborn,and he was able to tell exactly where I needed help without me having to point to the spots. You can tell Mark loves what he does, and it shows in his customer service and work. If you come to this place, ask for him, especially if you have had weak massages in the past. I stopped in for a massagewhile my husband was foodshopping. I always see the signs when we go to Hannifords so I thought, why not. Right away I felt pressured to "join the membership". I told them I wanted to get a massage to relax, and not think about that. the masage I got was just ok. ( I wonder if I joined would it be better??) ... as soon as I came out.. 2 people stopped me and pitched me to join the membership. I had already said no. Awful customer service experience. I bought my wife a monthly membership that she wasn't using because of time. When I called and cancelled they assured me that she would be able to use the 3 massages we paid for at any time. I just called to book her an appointment and they told me after 60 days we lost the massages I already paid for and the only thing I can do is sign up again for a monthly membership to get the massages back. I had been begging for a spa day and my wonderful & attentive boyfriend scheduled a couple's massage for us for my birthday at the Norwell location. It was my first professional massage and the entire experience was very relaxing. The staff members that greet you at the door were very friendly and helpful. While you fill out some paperwork (a quick medical history and massage preferences etc) they bring out a warm neck wrap. In the paperwork you can select either light pressure, firm pressure, or deep tissue massages. We both selected firm. The rooms in the back are dimly lit and have music playing. I found the temperature comfortable (which is saying something since I am ALWAYS cold). Our massage therapists did a wonderful job. I remember one was named Holly and unfortunately I forget the other woman's name! One thing I will say is that my boyfriend does not like lotion (he says it grosses him out?) and they do use lotion during the massage. If you ask me moisturizer is one of the three keys to life and he'll see that someday when he's a gator back. I think next time I would probably go with the deep tissue massage. She did do some deep tissue on my shoulders and I think I prefer that as it really works the knots out of my gnarled granny body. After the massage they give you time to relax and drink some water and wake up a bit. They do try to sell you a membership at the front desk while you're paying. They are smart like that, they soften you up with a nice massage and then try to slip in the membership! And it almost worked except that I knew I would never be able to fit a monthly massage into my schedule. I would say it is definitely worth going especially since the first appointment you make is only $39 for a 50-minute massage so you can't really go wrong there. read more

I am a member and you can't beat the price. I have found many great therapists here. The staff at reception is always welcoming and pleasant whether over the phone or in person. As soon as I walk in the door I feel myself start to relax. A calm clean atmosphere, warm neckwrap, and no cellphones in the tranquility room put you in the best mindset prior to the massage even beginning. Highly recommended! read more

I love massages, good massages that is. And a good massage requires a good therapist who listens to their clients. Which, unfortunately for me did not happen! I think the worst part of a bad massage is that you're all too keenly aware of that bad massage for every minute your are paying for! And you're literally counting down the minutes until it ends, which is completely counterproductive to your reason for getting the massage in the first place. I tried the introductory massage for NINETY minutes. Had this been a good massage, I would have been happy. I would have been ecstatic! But within minutes of my 90 minute massage commencing I knew it was going to be a bad massage. I had filled out a questionnaire prior to my massage session in which I Circled target/problem areas that I wanted to have addressed, particularly my neck, shoulders, and upper back. When I met my therapist, he read my form and confirmed these specific areas with me. But the bulk of my ninety minute massage was not targeted at the three areas I had requested. Instead, my therapist decided to give me the massage HE wanted to give. During my session, I repeatedly requested that he cover these areas in lieu of the other areas he focused on, mainly my arms, hands, legs, and feet. This was a very looonnnggg massage...which usually is a good thing, but in this case just proved to be frustrating. I couldn't wait for it to be over. I literally ran out of the room when he said it was over. When the lady at the front desk started talking to me about memberships I was not interested in being here for one more minute. On a side note regarding employment: My dear friend worked here in sales for a brief stint which is why I tried the place in the first place. He endured an injury on the job and could not walk or stand as a result of the injury, which made performing his job duties here impossible. Short story shorter...they fired him, refused to communicate with him, and never paid him his last check. This place has a VERY high turnover rate, which speaks for itself. They literally have employment ads on Craigslist every day!! read more

This place has crap customer service. When my father in law died, they charged me for the appointment that I had to cancel to attend family funeral activities. However, I gave them a second chance and continued my membership. Last week, they cancelled my appointment with less than a half hour's notice because the therapist they had scheduled for my appointment called in sick. There wasn't any effort made to rectify this inconvenience to me. No customer retention effort. No added hour to my account. Apparently my time isn't valuable. This evening, an hour before my evening appointment, I learned that I have an infection on my leg which requires antibiotics and a tetnus shot. I called from the health clinic to cancel my appointment. I was told that I would be charged for the short -notice cancelation. No worries. This establishment does not want my business and they will no longer have my business. Besides, it's supposed to be a relaxing part of my week. It isn't. Some of the therapist are very good, some are not. All of the therapist's will tell you how bad the pay is. They only get paid for hours that they have clients scheduled. I'll take my business elsewhere where customers and employees are valued. read more

There are significant discrepancies between what they state in writing and what the sales people verbally say. When we asked to speak to a manager for a simple enough manner (honoring the free referral massage), you were given the run around. Apparently the free referral massage expires 2 weeks, 1 month, or possibly 2 months after being given (each person had a different answer). No one has anything listed in writing. I couldn't get the manager to contact us, return a phone call or even find out the an actual name of the manager. Each person stated they weren't the actual manager. They maybe a franchise or they could be corporately own - different stories from each person I spoke with. It's only a massage, seriously, it isn't a big deal either way but the constant lying and excuses is truly appalling - especially as we haven't even used the majority of our massages. read more

I generally get a massage once every 2-3 months for relaxation and have been to massage envy's in other states but with this terrible experience I am not going back again. Overall the customer service, scheduling, location ...etc were all great but the massage wasn't at all. I don't care for the overall feel of a chain massage place but I stumbled upon one guy who nearly cured my AWFUL back pain after I really had no other options. This is now the second time I've called and gotten a quick appointment with Mark. Both times I was in serious pain due to normal everyday stress that just had the final straw break and it became really bad. He is very personable, friendly New England kind of guy. Some people don't like having masseuses of the opposite sex, but he made me feel very comfortable. He explained everything really well to me, including why certain things hurt, which muscles they were, how they worked and even showed me some quick stretches I could do at work during the day. On a scale of 1-10 on pain, I walked in at about a 6-7 with a boatload of Advil and one chiro adjustment under my belt. I walked out of the one hour session feeling maybe a 3 on a scale of 1-10. I just can't afford the monthly massages right now, but for any future massage needs, I know he is the right guy to go to. As I left, he said he hoped I'd sleep a little better that night, and you betcha I had no more pain that was effecting me and keeping me awake when I laid down that night. It's all a matter of personal taste, but if you have some kinks that need to be worked out, is definitely recommend him! read more

This facility is new and clean, and always has a welcoming recptionist to greet you. A warm neck wrap starts off the good vibe. LOVED Holly for a great massage to work out the knots, but be prepared to feel like mud for a while afterward! Prices are pretty nice if you join as a member for prepaid massages. This place is horrible! I bought my mother a 50 min massage for Mother's Day which isn't cheap. She was right on time and had to fill out paper work. They don't tell you to get there early. She's 77 years old and it took her 10 minutes to fill out the paper work, so because of this she was late getting into the massage. So not kidding, they cut the massage to 40 minute. The massage therapist Sally I hear who has been a massage therapist for 10 years, was not compassionate or attentive to any of her needs. My mother requested areas she had pain and wanted focus work in, and non of that was worked on. Her massage was rushed and the strokes unconnected and sloppy. When the massage was done, Sally the massage therapist had the nerve to ask for a tip. I hope Sally gets fired. This is so unprofessional. Why is she even a massage therapist? Do yourself a favor, don't go there.. Go to Elizabeth Grady in Marshfield. read more

I purchased a gift certificate for my husband for a 1 hour massage and a foot scrub which I paid additional money for. This add-on was suggested by the person who sold me the gift card, she even told me to make sure I wrote the additional service on the gift card. My husband used the gift card last month and received only the massage although I paid for the foot scrub service. Neither the massage therapist or the woman behind the desk knew anything about the foot scrub, although I rote it and had a receipt paying for it. So I paid for a service he never received. My husband called the spa and received an email in response to his call after he called a 2nd time, no one got back to him. The same thing happened last year when we purchased the same massage and foot scrub for him, no one knew anything about it. So they sold me a service and didn't deliver! Isn't relaxtion the purpose of a massage? If you're in agreement - don't waste your time with the McDonalds of massage providers! I called to make an apt. and I spoke with Allison, the manager. Allison failed to inform me that their policy is to supply a credit card in order to confirm an apt. As a result, my apt was given to another client. When I complained, Allison (who kept shouting at me and talking over me) explained that it's their policy to not hold apts without a credit card. However, I had already explained to Alison that I was a new client, and a referral, and it wasn't my job to know their policy - but instead her job to educate me on policy. I would've gladly supplied a credit card if she had informed me of this detail! She further went on to explain that although their were other masseuse's available, but they weren't "up for" the work. HUH? And, when I questioned this, she explained that her employees work harder than me! (What a great way to capture new business Allison!) She also said that she had another masseuse who was available for my apt time, but she wasn't going to give me the apt now since I was upset. Double HUH! (What a great way to run a business - the business screws up and they penalize the customer who is upset with them - that doesn't make much sense to me) I asked to have the owner's name and telephone number about 10 times before I was told I could reach the owner at the shop, but she refused to share with me the owner's schedule or additional contact information beyond that. Massages may be afforadble here, but there is truth to that old saying "you get what you pay for." Don't waste your time with this mall chain provider. Based on my experience, I'm afraid you'll get much better service with a small spa. read more

I have been a massage envy customer for over 2 years in another state. It was always clean affordable and the people were always very nice and helpful and most therapists were good (even if I had my favorites as you do). HOWEVER - when I moved to the area and came here it was not at all a similar experience. The staff were not friendly, they were average and clearly did not care that I was there or not. The first 2 massages I received were sub par, as I had pre-paid I came a third time (finally my third was the best of the three). But then they messed up my appointment time and of course charged me for it. Given the 3 strikes rule I am now cancelling my membership and will look elsewhere for quality a massage. There has to be better places than this in the area. read more

I cannot comment on the quality of the spa because I am still waiting, 2 weeks later for a response to an appointment request I had made. I was amazingly surprised to get a resort quality massage and environment in a shopping plaza. My intro massage, one of the last of the night, was with Jill who is extremely experienced as a masseuse. Even tho my massage was at the end of her day, Jill's strength and pressure techniques were as great as if it was 8am! I was completely relaxed 15 minutes into the massage and today, my knots and pain that i requested work on are entirely gone. I couldn't believe how tranquil and soundproof the studio was. My experience with the front desk staff upon arrival and departure was excellent- they didn't "hard sell" at all, but they did explain several packages and my options (people- they are in the sale business so I would expect that!!). Overall, I can't say enough good things about the masseuse, staff, and overall experience at this location. read more

I prob get a massage 2 or 3xs a year and i think this is a great place and the right price. The waiting room is dark and relaxing and they offer you water and a hot pillow for your neck which starts the relaxing process. I usually get a 2 hour massage because it takes me about 1 hour to relax. The only thing i don't like is how much pressure they put on you at the front desk after the massage to join there monthly club.. it kinda tenses you back up after you just relaxed.. Let me start with the positive - the ladies at the desk greeting and getting you ready for your massage were wonderful. Very friendly and welcoming. My massage was good, however was a full body massage....never did my hips, upper leg, lower back or scalp, The one thing that bothered me was that I paid for a 60 min massage which meant 50 mins for massage and 10 for dress/undress. Well, my massage started at 10:15 and I was dressed and out at the register by 10:55. Hmmm...seems like a 35 minute massage to me!!! I couldn't believe it when I got up and looked at the clock! I have been a member at massage envy for years. I have tried many therapists but never had a bad massage. Marci is my favorite therapist so I have been going to just her for the last few months. Before becoming a member at massage envy, I had my fair share of massages and I have to say the best massages I have ever had have been from Massage Envy. The place is always clean which is very important to me. The front desk is always extremely friendly both when I check in and check out; they always offer me a warm neck wrap and help me to book my next appointment.
