I have been a member at Massage Envy for a very long time . This location has had its ups and downs. There have been times when it was nearly impossible to get an appointment within 3 weeks of trying and it seems they have suffered a lot of turnover . In the last 2 months I have found that those issues seem to be resolved and getting an appointment is now much easier , the front desk Personnel are friendly , and today I met the new manager Tanisha and she was wonderful . She is very invested in working hard to make this location successful . read more

Unbelievable. I have spent two days, trying to freeze my account. Definitely going to cancel. Been w them for over a decade. I am moving to a new state and very busy, I needed a pdf sent to my email to forward. Handle docs all the time, this won't load! The second doc worked for me but wouldn't load to edit. I called again to try and push it through, because two days ago they said I was all set and today is apparently the last day before I can avoid charges in this cycle. As I'm trying to find a way to open and send this, while on the phone with them, the manager basically called me stupid then hung up on me. Unbelievable read more

She makes you feel at ease, is clear with instructions and makes sure to check in with you throughout to ensure your comfort! I'd recommend her to all! read more

Very good therapist, convenient location, great hours, and easy to get appointments. I travel a lot and probably get more massage than your average person - at least twice a month. I have been a Massage Envy member for years because it affords me the ability to get a massage at any Massage Envy location. What is important to me is that I get a good massage in a clean, comfortable, and safe setting. Massage Envy does a great job providing all of that. I really appreciate the consistency in service and quality massage that Massage Envy offers. (I have been to at least a dozen different Massage Envy locations.) But, what I like about this location - above other Massage Envys - is that there is a generally very positive and friendly tone. Plus, they always seem to be striving to improve their service. Keep in mind, that you have some responsibility to communicate with your therapist - before, during, and after the massage session. That's how you are going to get the best massage. Don't be afraid of speaking up - they are there 100% to make you have a great experience and it shows! I wonder if some of those 3-star reviews would be 5-stars if they just spoke up about their concerns. People also need to keep the value equation in mind. I have paid for the $220 per hour (50 minutes actually) massage at the Ritz Carlton. Sure, they give you a robe, slippers, and make you feel like royalty about an hour. But you are paying for it too. Massage offers tremendous health benefits. If your focus is on good massage without the foo-foo frills, Massage Envy Naperville North offers a great balance of quality and price. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere when I walked in. The girl who checked me in was very nice and helpful with filling out the forms. However, if I go back I will try another location next time. It took 15 minutes to fill out all the first time customer forms. When I got into the massage room the clock said 9:40. I then changed and we started a few minutes later. The therapist announced we were finished and quickly walked out. The clock said 10:25. My hour massage was maybe 40 minutes. I didn't bother complaining about being shorted on the time because I will not be back. read more

I feel guilty every time I go to a Massage Envy other than my home location (Glen Ellyn), where I've been seeing the same massage therapist (NOT masseuse) for several years now. In fact, I feel like I'm cheating on him. When I come to this location, I'd likely be cheating on him with Marissa. Who ROCKS. She is just as fantastic with the deep tissue as Craig, and I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. Last week, the BF and I made appointments for a couples' massage, and Marissa wasn't available, so Jeff was suggested. He was great. I felt very relaxed afterwards. The couples' massage room is pretty neat too. You get to have your super relaxing down time, and share the experience, but it's not super crowded. The room is a triple sized room, so there's space for the therapists to work. It's quiet and calming and awesome. I'm not sure why so many people seem to have problems here--I think it's a great location. If you aren't a regular massage patient, I highly recommend it. Monthly. read more

Out of all of the Massage Envy sites in the area, this is my favorite one. I "shopped around" to all the ones between my home and work and this one has the best staff and therapists. My two favorite therapists are JEFF and KIM. Both are medium/deep pressure therapists who know exactly how to get rid of pain and help me relax. I know without a doubt that when I see them, I'm going to walk out feeling at least twice as good as I did when I went in. Love this location. read more

I'm definitely not one to complain about anything because I work in the service industry and I know how it is to receive complaints but..... I love massages and have gotten many before at different places and decided to try this place...boy was I wrong. This place is by far the worst place overall for a massage parlor. Where can I even start? Front desk girls were rude and not hospitable, the masseuse wasn't warm or friendly, and the lotion or oil they used was FREEZING! I DREADED every moment she would lather her hands to massage me! The massage overall was terrible...absolutely terrible. My experience was good with the esthetician, I don't remember her name but she has about 20 years of experience but was new at massage envy. I have to say that it's a very expensive place if you don't have the membership. For 60 minutes you pay $65.00 if you have the membership. As soon as I'm done with my membership I will not returned. read more

Great experience! I had a 60 minute massage with JEFF. I was walked through a list of things prior to the appointment such as where my pain is and where I'd like my masseuse to focus on. My masseuse had already reviewed everything before coming in. He was very calming just in his voice and demeanor which was a nice way to get the relaxation started. Jeff was fantastic! He was extremely informative, telling me what he was doing and what to expect throughout. He got all of my knots out of my back and shoulders, even ones I didn't know I had. I'm surprised by the previous reviews. I have been a member of Massage Envy for about 9 months. I joined when I was living in the city and went to the Massage Envy (Lincoln Park) location. I have been going to this location for about 3 months now. My therapist here is Gary, and he is wonderful - very knowledgeable and professional. And I really appreciate that his massages are very relaxing, but at the same time he addresses any issues and works out the kinks (my issues are running and stress related.) I have not tried any other therapists here, as Gary was the first one assigned to me, and he does such a wonderful job, I have stayed with him. The facility is clean and the decor is not super flashy or luxurious, but is modern and inviting. As for the front desk, I feel pretty neutral. On one hand, they are not extremely friendly....they are polite, however, and I haven't had any problems changing my appointments. Personally, I'd rather have polite than overly perky. read more

This is really a middle of the road review..... First of all- "Suzanne" is my masseuse and does a fantastic job. She is friendly, sweet and does a good job. She also talks to you and relaxes you instead of sitting in complete silence. If I still lived in Chicago, I would make the ride out to see her. She really should consider her own private business. Now for the overall location. The girls in the front range from a so called register girl, to just someone they have up front. When they did the Susan G Colman for the cure fundraiser, I reserved several spots and none were on file when we arrived. Lastly, it's always and I mean always up selling. Wether it be more time, other services or absolutely every time they ask to put me on a program contract monthly. I've also had a facial and massage back to back here, and the staff had to change my room just before my appts began, so both therapists could do their thing in the same room. Kind of a plain Jane type of massage place. Not real relaxing atmosphere, mostly felt like I was in a doctor office, but I guess that's what you get for going to a massage chain or franchise. The staff was friendly and explained the process. They want you to sign up for a monthly membership at the end which I don't know anyone that gets a monthly membership to a massage parlor but I'm good on all that. I'm not a huge fan of massages anyway this was a gift from my boyfriend. I'd get another massage again but I won't come here I'd find a place that was more tranquil and set more of a relaxing mood. Kim was the lady that worked on me, she did pretty good but I'm super sensitive so I like a little softer touch for me personally but if your into some deep tissue stuff she's your girl. read more

3 words, quality of life. Since I began coming here my quality of life has drastically improved. I've had back problems ever since a car accident years ago. My back has never felt better. I've been seeing Kim as regularly as I can and she is absolutely spectacular. I've never had a deep massage that's as amazing as her's. She really has that magic touch. You tell her what hurts and she works her magic and blasts through any knots or whatever is causing the pain. I've honestly never felt better. I'm able to stand and sit for longer with significantly reduced pain. I just can't say enough good things about Kim. The only negative? She's popular and sometimes can be hard to get in with. But in a way, that just shows how great she is and how many people just want to get a massage from her. She's world class! I always saw massage as a luxury rather than a health service, but Massage Envy has made it affordable and completely changed my opinion. This location is unquestionably beautiful. I've had massages that cost 2-3 times as much and those locations don't even come close to how this place looks. Really the best massage place in the area! read more

I have dealt with few businesses that I would rate poorly. This location is one of them. We have been trying to cancel an account since August 2013. Everything has to go thru the credit manager who is never available & does not return calls. We have been told to visit the store to cancel. Done in August and account never canceled. We have written letters canceling. They are "projecting" cancellation after the end of December. Meanwhile they continue to withdraw from our account. In my mind it is outright theft at this point. read more

If I could I would give this location NO STARS I would! I have been fighting with them to cancel my membership since November 2013 with no luck. The staff and my masseuse were very nice on my first visit which is why I decided to sign up for the membership. At that time I was 8 months pregnant. I stressed to them that I had been going through complications with the pregnancy and that I was concerned that I may not be able to maintain my membership should my Dr. not want me to continue. Cassandra (who sold me the membership) beat around the bush with that subject but eventually told me that I could cancel my service due to medical reasons. This is the only reason why I agreed to sign up, otherwise I would have never even bothered! A few weeks later things got worse and was not able to continue my membership. I went into the store and was treated like garbage! I explained to them my situation and asked what form they would like from my Dr. to cancel my membership. The lady at the front desk said she had to talk to her manager who was directly behind her in the room behind the front desk. She came back and said she couldn't cancel the membership because I had a contract. Even after going over their contract with them (which specifically states that you can cancel a membership if you have a note from your Dr.) she said she couldn't cancel it. She couldn't even give me any other answer other than because I was in a contract. When I asked to speak to the manager who was still behind her and could hear everything, she said it wouldn't make a difference. The manager at no point even bothered to address the issue and instead walked right past me! Feeling extremely upset, I asked them to put my membership on hold and asked for the corporate number (no luck there either) and decided to leave. Despite my membership being on suspension I received several calls daily for several months asking me when I would like to set up my next massage. Every single time I brought up the fact that my membership needed to be cancelled I was given the same run around as in the store. I eventually wrote an email stating that I didn't not want to be contacted for massages moving on forward! The calls finally stopped up until a month ago when my hold was ending. Once again the calls began. I called them several times asking for the manager and everytime I got a different excuse as to why she couldn't be reached. They finally said I could talk to their district manager. She too never called me despite multiple requests! I had no other option but to cancel my credit card to ensure the charges wouldn't continue and I filed a complaint with the BBB. They also never got a response from them which I was told would now negatively affect their rating. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money here! There are so many other spa's around town that are much better!!! read more

I always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. April has always checked to make sure I am comfortable and receiving the pressure I want on my massage. Totally dishonest. Under no circumstances sign up for a membership, and whatever you do with them, be damn sure you keep a copy of it. I cancelled my membership eight months ago but they have continued to charge me every month since. When I complained, they claimed that "lost some records when they changed systems", although they admitted they have my email requesting to cancel. And funny enough, before I cancelled they called me all the time to get me to come in. After that, never heard from them again, even though I never came back. I had to look through my credit card statement to figure out they were still fleecing me. They finally cancelled my membership now, but will only refund me two months of the eight months they charged without my permission. They stole over $400 from me and flat out refuse to give it back. He never asked if the pressure was ok, he used only one hand for most of the massage, when it was time to lay on my back so he could do my neck, he never mentioned he was about to drop the head rest, he just did it. I requested a deep massage as well as verbalized a few times to my massage therapist (Diana) to go deeper yet I got no more than a rub. She would say ok and go deeper for a few seconds but that was it. Not one part of the experience was relaxing, I was ready to get outta there! I've had mixed experiences at this Massage Envy. My last experience was ok, nothing spectacular. I left feeling a little relaxed, but not drained as though I had a great massage. I've had one really bruising experience, which they did make up for by crediting my account a massage - which I have been trying to schedule for the past month and no one calls back! Online scheduling with this location is non existent. Three times in the past few weeks I have attempted to schedule, received the emails letting me know they have received my request and that someone will contact me to confirm an appointment time. Did anyone call back - NOPE! Called today to see what the hell is going on, and am getting absolutely no answer on that end of the phone. This is not uncommon here, typically it can take a few calls to get someone on the line. I've considered signing both my daughter and I up for a membership here, but after hearing and reading other members' experiences, it doesn't sound like a financially safe idea. Seeing as am in need of a massage weeks ago, and have yet to receive that call back - I guess its time to go back to Tricoci. Update: a couple hours after this review, twenty minutes AFTER my initial appointment requested time, I FINALLY received a call back to schedule for this weekend. This location is STUNNING!!!! The second you walk in I am treated like a celebrity. The waiting room is beautiful and peaceful, NOT stuffy and weird like other waiting areas can be. The techs always look and act professional and make product recommendations based on your needs not on commission. Parking here is so ridiculously easy too that's a bonus. I usually go to La Vida but received a gift of four massages here. First I have to say the therapist I had was absolutely fantastic. In fact, I'd like to suggest she move to La Vida. My issue with them is the front desk staff is terrible, they're young and have no clue. They screwed my appointment up twice. They charged my husbands credit card four months after he purchased the gift to put me on a 'program', WITHOUT HIS CONSENT, they kept his info and charged his card. Seems illegal. Especially when the paperwork he had showed this was specific amount of sessions. I combined the sessions into two so I could do a hot stone massage. If you have to change your appointment and you don't reschedule at the time you call you get charged, really? Who does that?? I hate to bash businesses but this one is awful. I do have to say the manager was very, very nice every time I called her to complain especially since I fully expected to have to fight. I even told her I was done and not coming back. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS COMPANY! BEWARE DO NO SIGN UP OR YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO LEAVE. Massage Envy's cancellation process is a joke. First off you have to go in person to cancel and not just to any location but to the one that you originally joined. Too bad for you if you have since moved an hour away they do not care. Then you get to fill out a form. If you are unlucky enought to have to work and cannot go between 9 and 5 when manager is there, you then have to wait until a manager comes in and reviews your application for termination. Oh and you have to give 30 day notice which does not start until they "process" your termination. I went in on Sunday, today is Tuesday, just called and they still have not processed my request but have assured me they will get to it tomorrow. However, my 30 days to terminate has still not started. Here is a thought, if they spent as much time cross training their front desk staff so they can press a couple of buttons and cancel someone's membership and spent the rest of the time finding qualified massage therapists, maybe they wouldn't have so many requests to cancel service. Never auto enrolling in anything again! Lesson learned. read more

Sat several more minutes, then walked to lobby to be told that no one could locate or contact the therapist. Received apology and offer of "enhancement." But, geez, could you be much less organized? This is just my third time there since becoming a member and this is your best? Not the professionalism I expect for the cost associated with the service.
