Ive been going to this location for almost a year now. The staff have ben incredible and Diane my therapist is the best Ive ever had. She is very understanding to my specific needs. I usually walk in with many knots and feeling stiff and always leave feeling better, with flexibility and feeling satisfied. Let me begin by saying my low score on this review has absolutely nothing to do with the massage I received and everything about the way I was treated when I was checking out. I booked an appointment online and the hourly rate was $70. I thought, great, I'll try this out to see if I liked the place. Easy enough to book the appointment. I arrived and checked in. The receptionist actually stood over me while I was answering the pre-massage questionnaire, which I thought was strange, but whatever. I was taken back about 5 minutes after my appointment time and the therapist walked in to start about 10 minutes after the appointment time. I understand there's a time lapse for greeting, etc... no problem. I received my massage and it ended about 7 minutes before the end of the hour time frame. The massage was decent, but not amazing. The whole time I thought, maybe I'll do this every 2-3 weeks to help my soreness and stress. I could afford the $70 plus tip per time, no problem. I went to check out and the lady at the desk (a different person than when I checked in) was not very friendly. Snobby actually. She firmly stated that my total was $70 this time but if I came back it would be $120. $120 per hour!!! $50 more then what this appointment was going to cost me! I was blown away. As much as I've read about people regretting their "memberships" I had planned just to do the individual treatments because I didn't want to commit to the membership just yet. Mostly because I wasn't sure how often I could do it. I half expected the receptionist to explain the membership or make some sort of pitch for it, but other than the quickly snarky explanation, she just processed my payment and let me go. This was on monday feb 13th 2023. This location only had trainees working with one starting that day and the other on her 2nd week. I also had her drive close to 60 mi to this particular location because of the positive reviews and word of mouth that we had heard . Booking from online was not possible. The person who answered the phone was polite and booked a 2pm 90min massage session and made my wife who has never been to any location before a profile. She confirmed my wife was new and eligible for the 110 dollars and took my card info down so she wouldn't have to pay anything when she arrived(this was a surprise). They then contacted my wife to cancel. Ruining the surprise. After some effort we got it rebooked at 4. The appointment went well except for swapping out masseuses last second. At around 6 my account has every penny in it drained. When I saw my wife after work she told me that we had to cancel a hotel reservation because there wasn't enough on my card so she had to pay the difference of the almost $200 bill. No one called me, I did not authorize the amount taken from me and I was never contacted to resolve the issue. I'd like to be clear that the staff that was there was pleasant and polite. However, they did not seem to know the inner workings of your POS system or really how to run the business side of the business. Someone senior should have been available to speak to. Been going to Massage Envy in Lutz for a few years now, had the monthly membership and never had a bad experience until this past week. On Tuesday I got a voicemail from them saying that I had missed my 2 o'clock appointment and if I'd like to reschedule to call them back. Dumbfounded on how I missed it or forgot it I called back and spoke with Cassandra. Cassandra stated that they had sent me email confirming my appointment and also called the day before to confirm also. When I told her I never got either, and had never gotten a email the day before my scheduled appointment ever, she said no we did, as it was noted in the system. Before losing my cool, I said thank you and hung up the phone. I then checked my email, to verify what Cassandra had told me over the phone. The only email from Massage Envy was about a blood drive with the American Red Cross and the email stating my appointment was canceled. I then contacted my cell phone carrier and asked for my phone call log for this week and asked if Verizon Wireless could also email me a copy of my call log too, which they did. Upon looking over them, no one from any Message Envy in the country called my only contact mobile number on file with them since 2017 and the only number I've had since 1998. After seeing and finding out that I was lied to, I called back, got Cassandra again and explained that I had proof that no one had called to confirm my appointment for the next day or even emailed me. Once a again, Cassandra stated that in their system it said they called. By then, I realized it was my word against hers, even though I had proof and was willing to show them. I then asked for the manager, which had just stepped out when I asked for her and didn't know when she'd return. How ironic and convenient, huh? After hearing that, I hung up and tried to find the number to corporate to complain, make them aware and also cancel my membership. Unfortunately, there is no number for corporate and all their website states is to contact the location you go to. Which is a total waste of time, as the manager is always stepping out when I call to speak with her. In the end, I'm not upset about the no call or email confirming the appointment. I'm more upset of being lied to, being avoided and then hearing from former therapist from the Lutz location that they're notorious for doing this to people and that's why they left this location. As not the people at the front desk, managers but also the franchise owner are all on it. Shame on you Message Envy in Lutz. read more

***** NEW MEMBERS BEWARE****** I have been a member for over 10 years. Due to military deployments I ended up with over 17 accumulated visits to which I couldn't keep up. They made me come in every 6 months to sign paperwork to pause but still had to pay 10$ a month to not lose my 17 visits. If I wasn't able to make it in then I started paying the full price again. Ive tried to book appointments to use them but either nothing is available or they have cancelled them on me. Now I've got 24 and the management at this office is so rude and told me I could cancel my membership and use my 24 visits in the next 60 days or lose them. If I can't even book an appointment in a reasonable time how can I book 24 in the next two months? Their policy is antiquated and they seem to prey on situations like this. Just taking money without actually providing services that I've already paid for. I will be looking into a lawyer. they gave me the other options of pausing at no cost for 6 month of which I cannot use the ones I've already paid for... or pay 10$ a month for 6 months and use the ones I've already paid for. Massage Envy Massage envy is the absolute worst and I will be writing this throughout social media Apparently, my payment did not go through because I had a credit card replaced as my other was fraudulent. I honestly did not realize if 60$ was being taken out of there or not. The manager Bria (she states of a year- her first job I'm guessing as she was completely rude and unprofessional) states I had 22 massages expire due to non payment since September. She stated they left me 3 voicemails over the last few months. I did not receive any of them. She said the last attempt was December 13th. I had emergency spinal surgery on Dec 9 and my Dad passed away a few weeks later, so it is possible I did miss getting that one. I did not receive any other prior communication. She stated "well they wrote a note in here and that is all that matters". Whether they actually did call or not. I asked if there is no other comminication- Email, letter, text sent nor any other confirmation of payment issues. Three vm over 6 months? I stated I would be happy to pay the months that have lapsed if my 22 massages (which is quite a lot, much more than the missing months) could be reinstated. Again extremely rude, immature and rolled her eyes at me like a teenager. The woman next to me also was complaining about massage envy. I asked who I could contact to see if this matter could be resolved, as I have been a massage envy client for years and have almost $1,500 in services. I think that massage envy corporate would like to get that resolved and keep their long time client happy. She said no one is higher than me. Really??? The girls next to her told me I could reach out to corporate, and she interrupted and said it would all just go back to her so don't even bother. She said she recently became the manager and she would not do what they had done in the past. She berated me in front of the entire clientele that this has happened before-like I'm a criminal or something. I know I am not the first one to have to have a credit card replaced and not remember all the autopays on it. Clearly, as this has happened before the office is not good at contacting their clientele and perhaps an email or letter should be sent. Is it not possible that two vm didn't even get left? I have been recovering for months from this surgery and was looking forward to my first massage back especially as was having pretty severe spasms. I am disgusted by this lack of empathy and understanding and such rude behavior from this little child who obviously is on a huge power trip. I do not feel comfortable leaving a debit card as fraudulent activity rampant. I ask that my expired services be returned to me if I am able to update my account. In this post-pandemic world I think i little understanding would go a long way. There certainly are other options out their besides your franchise. For the past 4 years I have not been able to use the app to book appointments and everytime I told someone I was told they would report it and call me. When I mentioned it to Staci, she immediately took care of it and resolved the problem with corporate and true to her word called me and made sure I could use it. VERY UNSATISFIED I called and booked a couples massage for me and my fiancé. I asked them to not send her a confirmation message because I was planning a surprise and the person on the phone told me "no problem we won't send her anything"...of course she got the confirmation anyways and ruined the surprise but that's not the main problem.. Dear Management, I am furious and I want to cancel my membership. I have received the worst service of my life. The therapist I saw tonight her name is April. This is not my first time getting a massage by April and I did not think she did a good job, well enough for me to leave her a tip on the first time I saw her. Tonight, I asked April if tonight's session will be deep tissue because that is what I requested. April proceeded to tell me, "On December 22, 2022, she willing chose not to do deep tissue on me on February 28,2023 because I did not tip her". I said to her, so you're not giving good service because you didn't get tipped. She said, "she based her living off of tips and that she has a list of clients that do not tip. I told her, I too am in the service industry I do not give poor service because someone doesn't tip me. I told her to stop touching me and proceeded to dress. I do not want April working on me or anyone else again. As I recall tipping is optional and considered a gift! As a paying customer April should not be able to continue to work on people again. It was on Sunday 10/4 at around 12:30p. My fiance and I actually got a couples massage, and both of us were very happy. I am picky about my massages - I like them to be pretty firm, and he definitely delivered. My only complaint is to the detriment of my own stupid body, and that's the soreness that's taken place in the days afterward. My posture is so bad that any slight tweak of my muscles can throw me off into a downward spiral of pain. Luckily, I've had much worse. The massage itself though? Primo. This young lady on the phone had no clue what she was talking about for the services that they had or the differences. My daughter goes in the same lady is singing horribly and ruining the vibration. Calming music, calm atmosphere, etc. This place, everything is cold, the atmosphere is "so- so" and the price is double. Tried to enjoy a membership for a month only to find out that canceling 9 days in advance was too short of notice and I would still be charged the monthly fee. Where do I begin. Well, for one - I had to cancel my membership due to the lack of transparency and honesty with the customers. Now, I want to say this is no way a reflection the of the many talented therapists there. I really liked one therapist, and she was really really good. However, for some reason, I wasn't told that her schedule changed (would get a different therapist without my knowledge), and it happened several times. Always a different pathetic excuse. I know I confirmed that I wanted this particular person. So many mix ups. And to top it off, I really don't appreciate few of the staff member who work the front desk, who have no idea what is going on, are rude and lie! This isn't a way to maintain loyalty and for people to keep coming back. There are many different locations that offer the same service without the dishonesty. It is sad, because the therapist there are great! So, I am looking elsewhere and avoid the political upheaval that has graced the main lobby. read more

The first time I came here it was worth it because the first massage was $60.. the second time I wasn't aware the actually price is $90.. so not worth it. I booked a 60 MINUTE massage, that ended up actually being 47 minutes.. so not fair.. and I added a foot scrub, which was just getting the scrub put on my feet then wiped off with a towel, so NOT worth it! And with the add on foot scrub you'd think it would be an ADD on to the ALREADY over priced 47 minute massage, nope, no time added for the foot scrub it was squeezed in there with the same time as the massage no extra foot treatment.. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I will not be going back. Idk how they treat their customers like this and expect them to come back.. not great service at all. I'd expect to get a 60 minute massage if I book a 60 minute massage. And if I pay extra for a service I expect to get that extra service not less of a massage to squeeze the service which wasn't even a foot scrub! read more

I get memberships buts there is a time to push that agenda and it shouldn't be during the actual massage. Instead, make us wait 20 minutes to cash out while we politely tell you we aren't going to purchase a membership before we visit one other location; yet the lady at the counter carried on about the membership anyways.
