I started to come this location now because it's way closer to my house than the Santee location. I've been here several times now, but they just moved last week across the parking lot. So they're in the same shopping center but now they're upstairs just above the Mission Federal Credit Union. The office is a little smaller and they no longer have the little tranquility waiting rooms, which is a bummer. I've used a few different therapists and all great. My new favorite is Elizabeth. She's newer to Massage Envy, but has a lot of experience in massage therapy. She's awesome. Really pays attention to target areas. Nice strong pressure. I waited to write this review in hope that things would change for the better. Location: 6/10 centrally located but parking can be a nightmare [[HIGHLIGHT]]Front desk: 8/10 usually very pleasant, local manager is helpful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Massage therapists: 2/10 every now and again they have good ones but it's a revolving door for them and they end up leaving. Wanapa and Rikki were amazing but both gone. Rocio who is there currently is very good but reliability is poor. Multiple appointments have been cancelled last minute so it seems like employee reliability and them not have back up therapists to cover callouts in definitely a negative. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And though they like us to confirm our appointments 48 hours in advance they have cancelled on me 3 hours before an appointment. WE LOVE A $255 CHARGE!! Liked how convenient this location was to me, but rethinking who I'll be going to now. I called months ago in regards to freezing my account and was told to come in and sign off that I'll be doing so.. so I did just that. The following month I received a call on my typical billing date because my payment did not go through (my cards were turned off as I was out of the country for work hence why I froze my account ) and I said I already came in and my account should already be frozen. After checking me in, I was directed to the tranquillity room where I waited for Armando to escort me to the back. I waited a total of 2 mins. Once in the room, Armando asked me what part of the body I wanted to focus on. I'll admit, Armando seemed a little timid when we spoke at first. I was skeptical but I was quickly proven wrong! I was scheduled (2/29) for a 90 minute massage with Alfredo. I arrived on time and was checked in by a young woman whom I found out later was the assistant manager. She told me Alfredo was finishing up with a customer and would be with me soon. I sat in the waiting area for a few minutes and after be there for approximately five minutes, I let her I needed to go to the bathroom. When I got to the bathroom it was occupied, so I returned to the waiting room. At 10:13, I know this because I looked at my watch, I thought I'd try to go to the bathroom again, so that when Alfredo was ready for me it would not cut into any more of my time. After I finished in the bathroom, it was approximately 10:20, I started to return to the waiting room when I walked passed an open massage door room. I saw a man in the massage room preparing the room for the next person, I assumed he was Alfredo, so I asked him if he was. He affirmed he was and then I introduced myself as his next client. Alfredo invited me into the massage room and I proceed discussing the areas I needed him to concentrate on during my massage. He left me to get undress and then he entered to begin my massage. Alfredo finished my massage at 11:25, so I got dressed and went to the front counter to check out. I asked the young woman that had initially checked me in if I had been scheduled for a 60 minute or 90 minute massage, she told me 90 minutes. I told her that I didn't actually a receive 90 minute massage but a 60 minute instead. She disagreed with me telling me I did. Thinking she confused me with another client, I reminded her what she told me when I walked in and but she insisted that I was checked in at 10:00 and the Alfredo previous client checked out at 10:00. I attempted to explain to her that my appointment was delayed because Alfredo wasn't ready for me, but she disagreed. After realizing this dispute was not going any where, I asked to speak to the manager, it was at this point she told me she was the assistant manager. I then asked her for her name and her response was, "no I'm not going to give it to you." I told her I had been a customer at this location for more than 10 years and I'd never had a problem.. After saying this I asked her again for her name and her response was the same. So I took out my camera and took a picture of her. After taking one picture of her she asked me not to take her picture, but I snapped a couple more pictures with her hand covering her face. She told me she was going to call security and I told her I was willing to wait. She picked up the phone as if she was going to call, and at the same time she asked me to leave. I was quite upset at this point, but seeing that this confrontation was not serving a purpose I left. This young lady was extremely rude and confrontational in her efforts to dispute what actually happened. I have been a long time customer at this location. I've been a regular customer at this location since the Massage Envy in Terre Nova closed. After what happened today, I will not be returning to this location. read more

I was a happy client at Massage Envy for about a year. I went in one day and told the front desk staff that I needed to cancel my membership and I asked how many hours I had left and when they had to be used by. I then scheduled the final massages and said (I thought) goodbye for now to Massage Envy. Sadly I do not check my online statement as regularly as I should (lesson learned) but eventually I noticed that I was still being billed monthly. I called and spoke to someone at the front desk. She said she could see in the notes that I had cancelled and that I had come often to use up the hours. She said there was a note that someone was going to call to offer me an incentive to stay and because of that my cancellation had not been put through. She assured me that she'd have a manager call. The manager assured me that the owner would call me (after their weekly Friday meeting). Nothing. I called again and spoke to another manager. She said my account still wasn't cancelled and she would refund that month's charge and have the owner call. The owner never called despite numerous requests from me. The manager mentioned that the owner lives in a different time zone and maybe that was the problem. The manager was pleasant so I kept my eye roll and thoughts about basic math to myself. Last thursday I was shopping at the Eastlake Village shopping center and I decided to walk into Massage Envy and see what there memberships were and if it's something I could afford. Lexi was the front desk and she was super sweet and very excited to talk to me about the membership she gave me a brochure and told me about their options. I decided to think about it and talk to my husband but she definitely gave me alot of information that was super helpful and made me feel important. She told me she was new but handled it like a pro. Today, I was unable to make my facial appointment and thought I would be able to transfer it to a friend only to discover that I couldn't, 'because it's a Member appointment'. My friend was there at the location ready to go and was turned away without services. I left Church and went to the location hoping to resolve this issue and was truly disappointed that they were unwilling to accommodate her. We were unable to speak to a Manager and Sirin at the front desk called security. This was so unnecessary and a poor way to treat 'A Member' and a potential member! Overall I would give services here an average rating of 3, but the customer service is bad. I have experienced these ladies checking in the wrong person on two occasions and even allowed someone to use an appointment that was not scheduled for them. Rosio, my massage therapist was great, the rest of the experience was a nightmare!! I had booked a massage one month in advance only to be called the week before saying that the therapist was no longer there. (She had left at least three weeks earlier I knew from posts I had seen on Facebook). They couldn't reschedule me for the same day or even the same week when I tried to reschedule with a certain therapist. Alan said oh no, you don't want to book with her she's too unreliable. I rebooked with someone else. I got to the spa, checked in, took my seat and waited. Apparently my therapist came out and took another woman by mistake. Then they couldn't find anyone to do my massage. Finally I ended up with Rosio, who I had asked for in the first place, (and was told she was too unreliable). I joined the Membership. I was charged $70 per month. There were several times that I was unable to use them monthly so the money built up. I spent months taking care of my mom with stage four cancin Kalispell, MT. I had built up so much credit when I got home I started getting facials twice a month. I woke up this morning all excited about getting a massage because I've been under a lot of stress. I get to my 11 o'clock appointment five minutes ahead of time to fill out the necessary paperwork. The guy who greeted me was very friendly and courteous. After that I was greeted by this guy who instantly did not like. , he wasn't really too friendly and I clearly wrote I wanted my neck shoulders and head worked on with the last emphasis of my feet. He pretty much worked on my back and my lower back and I had to end it after already telling him once before because he was hurting me. He said he was just trying to get a knot out but it was in the same spot over and over and I'm not gonna let somebody abuse my body over and over. At this point in time I knew I was going to have a bad experience I wasn't comfortable. I wasn't relaxing my stress level was higher. I continued to let him massage me and I should have actually stopped him sooner because I couldn't even get up from the bed to put my shorts on. I could barely walk. I'm in a lot of pain and I made an appointment for 2 PM for another girl to take care of me so we will see if she can help this out. it's 11:42 AM right now I don't know if I'll be able to come back at two because I'm barely waking. I'm just so disappointed with his customer service and his skills. I told him clearly from the beginning that I needed medium to low pressure because I'm under a lot of stress, I don't think he heard anything I said or read the form that I filled out on the iPad as well explaining what I needed. A very clean area, the parking lot is in the middle with all the shops going around in a big "U" . There's music playing in the background by the storefronts. While the girl was extremely friendly, it did not change the fact that she told me she had an opening for a massage at noon then retracted the entire appointment when she found out that I was gifting it. She fed me some line about members complaining about nonmembers taking their appointments? Like would anyone actually believe that the clients in there go around asking other clients if they're members or non members? That's utterly absurd. I assure you she has no idea how absurd that sounds and I assure you that she feeds that line to people ALL day long and they consistently believe it. Walked around here after we had dinner. There is a small playground for the little kids to play in and little ponds with fish that swim in it. There were signs that were posted saying Do not feed the fish. There were many stores around this area including Trader Joe's, TJ Max, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and a few other other restaurants. This is a cute shopping center. I just don't like the parking set up in this shopping center. I haven't been here in so long cause I know parking is so bad. Weekends is the most busiest times to come here. Weekdays are not so bad. There were plenty of tables throughout this location. I like how you can just sit down and relax. I'm leaving a positive review; I've had nothing but good experiences with my massages & masseuse; booking is easy and everyone at the front desk is helpful. Having the Massage Envy app on my phone is really helpful too to remember future appointments and book on my own. If you get the membership it's a 1-year "contract" and it's hard to cancel if you read the fine details. It even shows in the contract that the 1-hour time allotted does subtract some time to change in & out of clothes; you can't cancel if you move unless you're 25+ miles from another Massage Envy location and any accrued massages have to be used before a certain period when you end your contract. I think it's reasonably priced for a good massage & ambience and the additional price cut for extra massages throughout the month vs. regular spas where massages can run up to $95 to $150. Getting a monthly massage is a big self-care priority for me and Massage Envy makes it easy to hold myself to that commitment. My masseuse was very helpful in providing me relief during a prenatal massage. That's why 2 stars instead of 1. My 1st time there I scheduled a 90 massage. Upon arrival I was informed they booked it wrong and the only available masseuse did not do 90 min massages. This was upsetting due to prenatal complications I had been having in hips and glutes. Asked to speak with a manager, none was on sight, and I was promised a call back but never received one. 2nd time there they did not have any water cups. No water before or after the massage. Still no manager on site. 3rd time, you may ask why am I still going there. The masseuse does a great job at relieving the tension where I need. However, I'm pretty sure this was my last visit to the site. Upon arrival for my 90 min massage I was informed they once again booked my prenatal massage wrong and there was no available masseuse to complete my appointment. After a few exchanges and my warranted frustration they asked another customer to switch masseuse to allow my prenatal massage. Luckily for me the gentleman was very kind and switched with no problem. How unprofessional!!! After the massage no manager onsite to speak with again and several days later no call back no follow up. Between the lack of professionalism and run around with mistakes they've made I am left very disappointed in this chain. Scheduling: Unless you don't work and can schedule when you need a massage weeks in advance, you will never get an appointment. Therapists: They are mediocre at best. I've never had a great one and they are overly concerned with modesty so they can't give you a good sports massage. No glutes! Likely they don't get pId much because of all the overhead costs.
