Wow, wow, wow! The BEST Indian restaurant I have ever eaten! I ordered to-go (per usual) the Palak Paneer and Naan bread with mashed potatoes (Aloo Paratha). I had never heard of mashed potato stuffed Naan. And boy oh boy was I delighted when I bit into it and it was curried flavor as well! The portions are large, the prices are appropriate, the food was made to order and served hot and amazingly delicious. I have visited many restaurants in McDonough for years and never gave this place a chance. I wish I had taken the opportunity to go when they offered buffet. Masala Cottage has wonderful Indian cuisine! I love the (lag paneer, chicken 65 and Kulcha. The Curry goat, Lamb, Rogan, Josh, and Jalfrezi shrimp are some of my family's favorites! They dont play about their spices and heat level so if you are not good with heat always choose mild, but if you can stand some heat go, medium as the flavors are just even more spectacular. read more

I picked up it to go order on the way back to Atlanta from Macon. I was craving indian, and since my neighborhood does not have Indian restaurants (or at least good ones), this was a good place to stop. The exit leading to this restaurant can get quite busy, especially during rush hour. The GPS will have you turn into an exit only lane, but the best entrance will be through the Krystal fast food entrance. While this place has tables and chairs, they do not provide table service. They only do take away orders and self-service dining. There is a sign near the register that states this. Menu is great, provides enough dishes for everyone to enjoy - vegetarian or meat or fish. I got butter chicken, palak paneer, rice, garlic naan, and cheese naan to go. I ordered a mango lassi to drink while waiting. All the food I got was delicious, and they understood the assignment when I asked for mild spice. With tip I paid about 60 bucks for all of it. There is enough parking for about 10 cars in front, more on the side. Staff is friendly, but there really isn't much interaction other than when you order. read more

This is my second visit and I would definitely recommend as well as will return. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the chili bullet naan. I got it spicy and can say they do not disappoint. The flavors in the tikka masala as well as the softness of the naan paired well together. Staff is always friendly when I go to pick up my order. I've visited Masala Cottage a few times. It's a small restaurant. Not fancy, but fairly nice, and clean. The food is always very good. My wife and I went there recently, and I was just a bit surprised to see that food is no longer brought to your table. No server. You order your food at the counter. They pack it up to go. We took our food to a table and ate with plastic utensils. It was delicious as usual. The only small problem I had, is that they put the food into plastic containers while it's still hot. It's a well known fact that putting really hot food in plastic containers is unhealthy because the heat can cause chemicals from the plastic to leach into your food, potentially posing health problems. read more

Dont look like much from the outside or even the inside, but the food speaks for itself. Large portions that are really good make up for whatever else this place lacks. Service is just a woman taking your order at the counter, hard to mess that up. read more

I absolutely love this place. The food is incredible and authentic, the owners are very friendly. I have a few dishes that I stick with, the butter chicken is my favorite and trust me when I say that this dish is SPECIAL. You can't go wrong with the chicken tikka masala either. You can get the mild, medium or hot. Do not get the hot if you can't handle spicy food because they do not play. You have to get the garlic naan to dip with. chicken samosas make a great appetizer. Unsuspecting how good this place is. Order at the counter and take your sweet. It's a quiet, small spot but everyone looks happy. I got the chili chicken, chicken jalfrezi, raita, and naan. My coworkers got the chicken tikka masala, fish makhani, and lamb biryani. Everything was so good but my favorite was the chili chicken. Food comes out pretty quickly and everything is piping hot. The naan bread was delicious we got one plain one garlic The yogurt sauce was fresh and yummy The butter chicken my husband loved and I got the goat makhani it was too spicy for me but the flavor was good and the goat was tender! The chicken samosas were good a little too spicy for me but the sauces with them were tasty and unique one was savory cilantro the other was dark made with molasses.. The sweet fried balls dessert was yummy! The basmati rice was basic. $ Prices are too high $ We've never ate here before this so haven't tried anything else I'd like to give 3.5 stars. So happy we don't have to drive an hour for a good Indian restaurant. They have a great concept of having all day buffet/all-you-can-eat for just $10 from 11:30 AM to 9 PM. You can also take the Buffet-to-go for $7/lb. Located next to Krystal just off Exit 216 on I-75. They do have ample free parking in front of there restaurant. Clean and neat environment. Very friendly, fast service and helpful staff. The menu pricing is very reasonable and affordable. Open Monday thru Saturday 11 AM to 9 PM. Closed on Sundays. If you like Indian cuisine, Masala Cottage is the one what you are looking for. It's a family owned business, Naushad & Amisha are brother and sister who run this place. They are very nice and humble people. I was greeted at the door which was nice, the food was awesome, yummy and spicy just the way I like it. Buffet Menu on the day I went were Chicken Jalfrezi, Goat Curry, Tandoori Chicken, Dal Makhani, Aloo Matar, Basmati Rice, Butter Naan, Fried Rice, Veggie Pakora, Gajar Halwa, Fry Ems/chips, Simple salad, Tamarind Sauce, Raita, and Mint Sauce. Oh my freaking gosh this food was so good , i got the vegetable samosas ( so flavorful and crispy), along w goat vindaloo ( spicy and very flavorful) which came with rice also very freaking good. The butter chicken was amazing ! It's spicy but not too much and not sweet ! If you know good authentic Indian food it's not supposed to be sweet! And the chicken byriani * chefs kiss * ! This is one of my favorite restaurants, however, they have done away with the buffet which sadly is something I enjoyed. They had a great selection at the buffet too. The food is very good.
