Such a hidden delight! Family owned and very generous! We ate very well here! All my favorite dishes presented quickly and kindly.

I had been meaning to try this place for a couple of months as I moved to the neighborhood in December. I had looked at the prices online and thought it was a bit pricey, but then when I received the food I realized that it was plenty. My biggest complaint was that I ordered the vegan Bhat Masala. I was asked how spicy I wanted it (I had never been asked that before at an Indian food place), but I said medium. I use medium spice level for many places as a baseline. Well, the gentleman at the counter, who was very nice, told me it would take 25 minutes. I said that was fine and took my dog for a nice walk. I came back the and waited a couple of minutes. The food was ready and boy did it smell amazing. I get home and open the giant box of goodness and make a plate so my husband can eat some later. The first bit I thought to myself wow this is a bit spicy. But I continued to keep eating it, then I got to the point where my stomach and esophagus were burning and I stopped. My husband ate some too. I warned him that I thought it might have been too spicy, but he has a higher spice tolerance than me. It was too spicy for him too. I feel like maybe they accidentally made ours too spicy, or something happened to it. We wound up just eating the rice and tossing out the masala as it was so spicy it was inedible. I would like to try this place, but for the price and running the risk of it being too spicy. we may not. read more

BEST INDIAN FOOD IN THE PORTLAND METRO AREA! Thank you so much for making the decision to buy and open up this hidden jewel! We appreciate the pride you have in your cooking to keep it small and made by you the owners. Unbelievable flavors! Each dish was packed with flavor and unique spices. We will be back as often as possible. Next time my husband and I will each order our own Chicken Paratha, since he ate most of it the samosas were excellent, so much flavor. Chicken Currry was amazing to have so many huge pieces of chicken thigh, and the flavor was rich! Chana Masala was original with a hint of cinnamon to set it apart. We are so glad we ordered the large so we can enjoy the left overs this week. To everyone out there, DO NOT LET the inside setting turn you off. Totally casual, just some tables and chairs and food served in to go containers. Believe me you will appreciate the value when you taste the high class restaurant quality flavor. My husband and I thought we'd check this place out the other night, and I'm so glad we did! At first we thought it wouldn't be that good, as it appeared to be more of a tiny mini mart. But wrong we were. We had Shrimp Vindaloo and Chicken Masala that was SOOOO good! It was the real deal, without all the dairy add ons that we were schooled by the owners that wasn't traditional. This little hole-in-the-wall spot has a limited menu but you will get things that you never see at the usual Indian buffet. But rest assured, you're getting some bomb-ass food. I don't understand the positive reviews of this place. The owner is no chef. This is a quickie mart that exists only for video poker, beer, wine, cigarette, and candy customers. The food was appallingly bad not fit for many living things to consume. I dumped it after a couple bites. Almost a week later and I am still trying to get the awful smell of the food out of my nostrils. No one should want to visit this location for a meal, but if you do I suggest asking to see the owner's food handler's card and county permit. His filthy apron should gross you out enough to avoid this weird little convenience store. The Walgreen's down the street has beer, wine, candy, and cigarettes btw. read more

What a treasure! The samosas with mint chutney are spot-on delicious and pair so well with the mango lassi. Definitely try the Madras coffee. I have had both the Saag and Chicken curry. Fantastic couple running this down to earth mini mart/restaurant! Truly amazing home cooked Indian food at good prices for the quality and quantity that you receive. And yes, I said mini mart/restaurant, so don't go for the atmosphere. We had chicken curry masala, saag, rice, and naan, all of which were home cooked to perfection. The naan was flame cooked the way it should be, and the lovely owners both checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our food. We will be back for sure, and I highly recommend you check them out. A while ago, my dad and I picked up our family's dinner here. We came in and smelled something AMAZING. We talked to the cashier and finally decided on like four boxes, some bread balls in syrup, and mango juice. Just before we left, the cashier happily offered me two candies, which I was very thankful for. When we got home, we ate our main course and drank our juice. I loved the meal, but especially the mango juice. The bread balls were great, too. I love this reastaraunt! read more

This hole in the wall is run by a very friendly couple, who provide several tasty options. We have both carnivores and vegetarians in the family and there is something for everyone here. The food was tasty and the portions big enough that we had leftovers for lunch the next day. This is mostly a take out place, though we were quite happy to eat at one of the tables outside. Amazing saag has complex, fabulous flavors. It is spicier than many other sagas I've had, but it's just outstanding. We can also recommend the salmon Vindaloo. And the chicken Masala!! And the samosas with the accompanying chutney!!! And the friendly, warm service!!!! We get our food as takeout and are impressed at the portion size. There are a couple of tables, but we like to eat it at home. Definitely worth the drive. read more

Best Saag I've ever had, and vegan too! I just make sure to order it with no rice, since I don't eat white rice. The naan was also delicious too, made fresh to order so it does take a few minutes. This isn't a sit-down place, so just know before going into it that it's take-out. read more

I went to this place based on Yelp reviews while I was in town for one night. And it was close to my hotel. When I found the place has a little questioning because I parked and when I went in it look like how is in a convenience store with a couple of tables. I asked the lady behind the counter if they do mostly take out and she said no I could have a seat. We talked about the food and that I wanted to have dinner and some leftover for lunch tomorrow. I ordered the small chicken masala Curry and I wanted something else to try to. So I ordered the saag. She asked if I wanted a half or even though they usually don't do that since I was by myself. She said their portions are very large. I said sure and thank you. I also own a samosa. And then I sat down. The samosas are already made and kept in a heater box. When I saw that I was a little questioning. But my first bite into the samosa was delicious. There were so much seasoning in the filling and it was so tasty. It was served with a mint Chutney which was a little sweeter that I'm used to so I had to ask what it was just confirmed it was meant. But it was delicious. Then VJ brought out my meal. It was a lot of food. I'm not a big rice eater but I put a little bit on my plane because they brought me a huge Bowl. And has been some chicken masala Curry on to it. It came with 4 pieces of chicken thigh and a couple of potatoes. This was the small size. I did have to cut up the chicken thighs and it had so much flavor. Delicious. I did order two pieces of naan so I was trying to scoop up the curry with mine naan. The song was not what I am used to. They are from the south of India. Where they do not use cream and cheese. This was okay with me because the reason I order the song was because the picture on the wall did not show the big chunks of cheese. I loved it. It had zucchini cook down with spinach and maybe red peppers and a lot of other spices and maybe some other vegetables. It was delicious but a little spicy at medium for me. She did warn me and asked if that was okay when I ordered it. I loved it. There was another couple there when I came in who knew them from their previous store location. They were in for a visit, so it was fun listening to them talk. They serve a lot of vegan food and have worked with the local Adventist offices to make dishes that would be good for the local community as well. We had eaten here once before and loved the food so much that we stopped by on this visit to Oregon City. from our home in Sutherlin before even checking in to our hotel! Yes the menu is small, but the food is wonderful. We had samosas, shrimp vindaloo and a chicken aloo dish along with the most tasty naan bread.
