Loved this place! Stopped by yesterday because I was meeting up with a friend and we went through…read morethe main store and the Annex. For those who haven't been in a while, they've been renovating. The main building is now just the main floor and basement (basement is bright and cheery, not quite finished yet, though). The second building is across the way and the entrance is located across from the All-American Valley General Store. The prices vary from insanely good deals to pretty darn expensive. And some of those expensive pieces need some reno loving. Mostly reupholstering for couches/chairs and refinishing hard-wood tables. The annex holds the clothing, books, house nick-nack pieces and personal accessories. Display doors can be challenging to move but don't need the help of a sales assistant. There are some really great prices for the random pieces that find their way into this store. I'm looking forward to coming back to this store. Friendly staff, interesting pieces and beautiful displays should make the trip out of town worth it!

The most interesting shopping experience around. I love the way they set up the rooms into…read moredisplays: either similar things, or set up to look like mini-rooms within the rooms. Nice eye for decorating and using space wisely, SAC staff! I've bought a lot of things from here, often finding hard-to-find gift items. They almost always have something along the lines that I'm searching for, and are also surprisingly reasonably priced. I could seriously spend the whole day perusing around this store, if time permitted. It's like stepping back in time, only upon leaving the store do you remember what calendar year it is. Great place to shop for antique or vintage ANYTHING!

This review is based on the perspective of a tourist, shopper, or any person with disabilities who…read moreuses a wheelchair or other mobility device. Most Seymour downtown businesses along Bank, Columbus, Main, and First Streets are inaccessible; some are "hazardously" accessible. Two have ramps so steep you could tip over backwards on entering. Ridiculous. Even if you can enter, proprietors do not understand or comply with 26-year-old federal law requiring adequate space between aisles. Some shopkeepers hang "open for business" flags so low that they whip faces of blind visitors and persons in wheelchairs as they try to pass under them. This downtown neglects marketing to shoppers and persons with disabilities. The Strand Theater's ramp is a hazard: It has no required guard/hand rails. It is clearly in violation of the now 27-year-old ADA 1990. Downtown Seymour is for "the able" only. Though 26 more senior/handicapped apartments are now under construction downtown (which will bring the total to 38 just on Columbus Street), downtown Seymour is no place for Aging in Place. There is no place downtown (except across the river) that sells items needed for daily living (groceries for example). Recent sidewalk improvements can enable senior/handicapped residents and visitors to tour the downtown district; but they'll just be able to look into windows. They cannot get in. Access to the most elegant downtown restaurant is blocked by huge, "historic" stone steps. There are no handrails! Customers grab the door knob while climbing up or going down.
