A really nice store which provides great prices for furniture and furnishings which can be reused. The dollars all go back to Habitat for Humanity which is providing a great service in our communities. The stock changes on a weekly basis, first come first served. There is a large space filled with donation items: furniture, building materials, appliances, doors, etc. Some of these items were in pretty rough shape and might be fitting for a person who could repair and/or refinish them. I found the prices on many items to be a bit high. Some items had discounts for buying then and there and taking away yourself. Plenty of parking in large lot. I am not sure if they deliver for a fee or if that needs to be coordinated with a private entity. All proceeds do go back to Habitat for Humanity and their programs. I am sure the inventory is constantly changing so it's a place you may want to visit more often to find just what you are looking for. I like the ReStore for a couple of reasons. First of it is a Habitat for Humanity store, and every dollar you spent will help this nonprofit organization that does a great work in our community. I personally know a few people who were able to become homeowners through them. They do have used furniture, and other items, but I go to look around for doors, windows, kitchen sinks, tile, carpet etc. to fix or restore some of the rooms in an old rectory we are renting. I always find something good, for a low price I can use right away or at a later time for one of the many projects we have. read more

So I had heard good things about this ReStore and I like going to the one in Wallingford so a few weeks ago I drove down to give it a look. Now, I'm used to the Wallingford store which is one large room (maybe 3000-4000 square feet) with a decent selection of some furniture, artwork, etc. I was not expecting the difference in Stratford... I cannot wrap my head around how large this store is. 50,0000 square feet? 75,000??? To be fair, I'm terrible at guessing lengths of things, but, in any solid terms, this place is MASSIVE. There are different ROOMS for different products - a room full of chairs, a room full of dressers, a room full of desks. I just kept walking and walking. I could not believe the selection of items they had here (and just how much bigger it is than the Wallingford one is!) I probably spent 30-45 minutes walking around and browsing (as I've been looking for dining tables, side tables, hutches, etc). I ended up just buying a painting (priced half off! Score!) but I would definitely come back soon to see what new furniture they've gotten. I'd recommend bringing a truck if you come by! read more

Habitat might be a good company but Restore not so much. They came to pick up a donation and instead of picking up anything they dragged a pallet full of laminate flooring under our garage door so it won't close and left what was a nice neat pile scattered all over the driveway and garage area. Now I have hours of work to do getting everything inside again so we can close our door. This will be the last time I donate anything here! I figured I should update this to say that the next day Restore did call me and set up a time to come out and finish what they started. It still doesn't excuse leaving it the way they did or the hours after they left that they wouldn't answer their phones but at least they did finally make it right. read more

I scheduled a pickup with them on friday April 30,2021 , I had the stuff outside ready to get picked up , they didn't show up , I emailed them , they didn't email me back for 2 days , and everytime I called them no one would answer. So they schedule around pick up for friday April 13 between 8-12 no one came , nothing. emailed them again and they didn't anything expect confirming that they did schedule a pickup that day. Wasted my time if you wouldn't able to pick it up it would've been ncie to know , I gave you guys my phone number for a reason , so therefore I should've had a phone call , but I didn't. I have always been a supporter of Habitat for Humanity, routinely purchasing items that I need thinking my purchase will benefit the community. Lately, I have noticed that the staff is not helpful and angry at this store. Questions are met with hostility. The store policies also are inconsistent. read more

I have purchased many items for several years and have ALWAYS amazed at the incredible prices they have! Yesterday, I purchased a solid cherry night stand with one drawer and two doors, made by Ethan Allen: listed at $45 but if I carry it to my car myself, it was half off!!! Totally blown away!!! I don't know what Lily S was expecting. But this is like any other place with discounted merchandise (TJ Maxx, etc.) that what is available is always hit or miss, depending. If you frequent it, however, you can find absolutely amazing things at amazing prices - especially larger furniture. They tend to price it aggressively as they don't have the room to store it. And the mission of the store is commendable as well. read more
