This is not an orchard - there is no apple picking, hay rides or pumpkin patches. You primarily come to walk or bike the trails along the Clinton River and enjoy their famous cider and donuts. Over the years they've added other offerings like an ice cream stand, fudge kitchen, etc. so there's plenty to choose from. Lots of picnic tables outside but during peak times, it's hard to find a spot. In some of my past visits, there were a lot of bees but this time (Sept 2026), I didn't notice any. This cider mill has gotten so popular over the years that it's way too insane to go on weekends. If you can go earlier on a weekday, it's much more enjoyable. They're the oldest cider mill in Michigan, have a rich 160-year history, and still use the water turbine to generate power! But more than that, their donuts and cider are top notch. The donuts are light, fluffy, and not too sweet - just perfection. Their cider pairs nicely but I will say it's a little expensive (overpriced imho). Parking is free and there's an overflow lot across the street. When I lived in Georgia, they didn't have the same style of cider mills as we do here in Michigan, so we are very lucky! Visiting Yates at least once each fall is a must in my book.

I amongst considered going back in to get a dozen. The cider is quite flavorful with the mulling spices here. They have an assortment of apples here and bosc pears too. Honey, maple syrup and lots of jams too. I already want more donuts. Bring cash here, they don't have an ATM Machine and they charge you a 3% convenience with your purchase when you use a credit card here.

Took my parents here recently on a Tuesday afternoon for apply picking and we had such a a great time. You buy your tickets at the front. The staff are always friendly, they kindly explain all the prices and any other questions that we have. We were told where to wait for the ride/tractor to the apple field. Didn't take long at all! The driver that day was the sweetest lady! She was informative and told us which apple was her favorite and what to look out for. Going to any orchard can be pricey but Westview is worth it! They keep this place tidy and fun for all visitors.. already made plans with a few other friends so I'll will be back in a few days (they also have best cornmaze btw). Highly recommend Westview!

To get there cookies and little pies like it was a field trip, the staff was always so kind, my favorites is the pie and zucchini bread Omg delicious!!! There prices are fair and affordable just makes here even better. I have moved 25 minutes away now but I still constantly come here for the baked goods I refuse to go anywhere else for pie. And no regular bathroom, only an outhouse. But you can eat in your car or at home! Their cider donuts are so delicious but most of all, they have the best apples! We like all of them but particularly Golden Delicious! Their apple cider is also very refreshing! They have good plums too. I highly recommend this place and it's not too far of a drive either! Definitely stop in the shop for apple cider and donuts, and if you're there around lunch check out the BBQ food truck! They were doing a small artisan-type festival and we bought some children's books which look cute. They have a whole store you can go into or if you just want donuts and cider, you can do the grab and go area instead. If you want to go to their play area with slides etc it's $5, that also gets you admission into the u-pick area and then on top of that you pay for what you pick. We bought an apple pie, some fudge, donuts (cinnamon and plain, they also have pumpkin and gluten-free and some cherry one today), cider, and cider slushees for the car ride home. I had a slight problem - the straw poked through the cup and slushee went EVERYWHERE, so I'd recommend they maybe get thicker cups or not as pokey straws. They do have regular bathrooms here (as well as a port-a-potties) but they were a little messy. Overall I'd come back here though, they had a lot of tasty-looking treats and a cute venue.
