I've been to the Crossroads location back when it was still around and found the staff there friendly and helpful! I'm new to Magic the Gathering and wanted to try playing in person after playing for a few weeks on Arena. I had some questions regarding their pre-release event, so I jumped on discord to ask some questions there to get some clarity. Over the last few days, I've been in communication with James who came off cordial at first, who then turned condescending and demeaning the more questions I asked, because my questions weren't being addressed at all or clearly. I was made to feel like I had a comprehension issue, which I admit I do at times. The description of the event wasn't clear to me, which is why I was asking to get clarification and wasn't expecting to be received by such rudeness. I really wanted to attend this pre-release event, but I am going to be passing as it sounds like James is the one hosting the event and I would rather not have face to face contact with an individual like this. I'm sure not all of the staff is like this this, but this is my first and only interaction with a staff member at this location and event though it's the closest card shop near me, I'd rather go somewhere else like Mox's in Bellevue where my experience has been very pleasant.

Play from the demo library and shop board games at this store located on the first level of the Redmond Town Center. Inside is spacious with wide tables to try out games or attend a nightly game event. Staff is friendly and do not pressure you to leave even after staying for a couple of hours. We almost always end up buying a new game from the library each visit.

High quality game store with lots of great inventory friendly and excellent staff. Would most certainly recommend!

I'm a fan. They have quite a selection of fun games, and you can usually find something to entertain yourself there. Though don't expect video games. This is NOT EB. Also, there are certain nights that you may want to avoid as each night is a different game-night. Meaning people come to play specific games on certain nights, and the games rotate. I say that you may want to avoid some nights because some games tend to be played by certain people who for whatever reason are less than inclined to...well... bathe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about any ethnicity, I'm just talking about hygiene. And there are certain nights/days when the store is quite pungent from the 'aroma' of the hygiene-lacking patrons. That aside, most days it's a great store to browse. Even if you're a pet owner there are items there for your furry friends! (Okay, not specifically for them, but WHO DOESN'T LIKE TOYS!?!)

This is THE game store in the Seattle area if you like board and card games. It's also going to hit the spot if you like to do jigsaw puzzles or play chess. The staff knows a lot about games; not only are they all avid game players, but every staff meeting involves learning how to play a new game. Staffers are encouraged to show customers how to play games that they're considering, and they have open copies of most games so that you can see what the pieces and board are like, read the rules, and so forth. Almost every night of the week, there's a different group of people gathering at the tables and chairs to play games and socialize. Friday nights are the highlight of the gaming week, with a dozen or more gamers enjoying each other's company and the free soft pretzels (from Wetzel's http://www.yelp.com/biz/PMMStMcKrhonNnDvG1aFcA?hrid=ABYgcKYS7AWlUGaKGWR2dg) provided for all. There's also a monthly jigsaw-puzzle day on a Sunday. The calendar is posted in the store. I used to like the Crossroads store better, but ultimately, the staff in Redmond is more interested in the sorts of games that I like, and the Friday night gaming until midnight clinches it. We've made some new friends here and I enjoy being a "regular" for these events. Come say hi!

Let's get this out of the way now. I don't consider myself a Seattle elitist but I immensely dislike heading eastside unless absolutely necessary. There are a handful of places that I'll traverse the water for but for the most part, traffic and tolls makes me less likely to be excited for a Redmond excursion. And I might still be bitter that my car was vandalised when we first moved here during a shopping trip to the Container Store. Not the Audis or Volvos or BMWs, it was my lovely little xB that got keyed. But I'm getting off-topic, onto my review : ) We were in the area killing time before a dinner date with friends. I knew about Uncle's Games because I had seen it once while driving through the area. My husband hopped out of the car and ran in, liking it so much that we ended up going to the shop AFTER our dinner finished! The store was well maintained with lots of stock and friendly staff. The store was also very well-lit, almost painfully so. I don't know if that had to do with the MtG night that was happening. The store was packed and a little louder than I imagined it usually was. That said, the players weren't rude or crabby when I asked to pass or move around them. My overall experience was so good that I found myself wishing Uncle's had a westside presence. I have much love for Card Kingdom but competition is a good thing and it would be nice to have two places to peruse.

This is the motherland of all things games. Located in Redmond Town Center. Unlike other places like this, when you walk in there is always someone happy to help and direct you around and help you find exactly what you are looking for. Not the cheapest place, but their only real competitor is like Amazon.com which is always cheaper. But I usually would rather buy my game right then and there than order online :) Hard to find games, check! Euro games, check! Ginormous selection, check! Great customer service, check!

Please update website about return policy. Maybe look at your policy about unopened mtg boxes. Other shops respect it.

Ask the Community - Marymoor Games

Has anyone been to the Pathfinder Society games that happen here? In particularly wondering how ladyfriendly they are, as my girlfriend may be interested in checking them out.

Hi Michael, Thanks for contacting us! The Pathfinder Society is female friendly. The group has had a number of female players in the past. I'm unsure of the current makeup…

I've visited most of if not all shops that have silver age books to browse. This is my favorite place. I prefer older books and finding key issues of my favorite super heroes. Their sign says Toys, Video Games, Comics and Collectibles...you might be able to get comics, but don't go looking for video games, definitely don't have those. The posted pictures are all outdated and deceiving. The hours stated 10-5pm, no open signs at all 2pm on a Friday. Apparently you can't even just go into the building, it's by appointment only. But you only know that once you show up and read the tiny note on the door. This is not a store like it advertises it to be. If you don't want people to know you're there then take down your sign or make it more generic. I always try to support local businesses, especially children's stores, but unfortunately my experiences here have consistently felt unwelcoming. My most recent visit was while shopping for my daughter's upcoming 3rd birthday. When I walked in, neither of the two employees in the store acknowledged me. After a while, I received a very cold greeting from one of them. During checkout, I commented that it was nice to see they carried adult clothing as well, and the owner responded with, "We always have," in a tone that came across as harsh and dismissive. On its own, this interaction might not have been a big deal, but it reflects a pattern I've experienced over the years. I've repeatedly found the atmosphere to be unfriendly, particularly in my interactions with the owner. As a parent who regularly shops for children's clothing and enjoys supporting local businesses, customer service matters. I want to spend my money where customers feel welcomed and appreciated. Because of the consistent lack of warmth and customer care I've experienced, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. That's disappointing, because I genuinely prefer supporting neighborhood businesses whenever possible.
