Maryland Maids came to cleaned my house. They were paid $550 in advance. They did not follow instructions to NOT clean my re-glazed bathtub. (I gave verbal instruction, asked them if they understood, AND posted a sign to remind them.) I found them cleaning the tub with comet, thereby ruining the glaze and voiding my warranty. They lied and said they didn't clean the tub. They refuse to work with me on any resolution. They are good at cleaning, but cannot follow even very clear, simple instruction, and are unwilling to take responsibility for damage caused by their employees. read more

I purchased a Groupon for housecleaning service from Maryland Maids. I tried to schedule in October but we played phone tag for 2 days and they didn't return my last call. Thankfully I was able to extend the expiration date through this week. It finally got scheduled for today. The scheduling issue is the main reason this isn't 5 stars. The cleaning ladies were wonderful. They were a few minutes early which was great as I needed to get to work. I purposely hadn't dusted or cleaned when I tidied up and put things away over the weekend so I could tell just how good they were. Their work was impeccable! All of the surfaces were scrubbed clean, even items I didn't think were dirty were shining! LOL They even made up the beds with the sheets I left out to do when I came home. #score I paid extra for cobweb removal, baseboards and ceiling fan cleaning. It was well worth it! PICTURES in link: They continue to harass me by invoicing me for a deep cleaning that was not received. I was told by Mike that the upgraded deep cleaning requested would last about 3.5 (7) hours for two individuals and the services received were 2 (4) hours (8-10am) that was already paid for. Even after the 2 hrs there was dirt still on the floors, the doors/panels were not wiped/dusted, the toilet is still dirty, the kitchen sink was left a mess, small toys were not moved nor were closets opened to vacuum, mopping was not adequate, light switches and fixtures were not dusted, kitchen counter items were not wiped, and so forth. Maria (maid) did not ask me to inspect anything before rushing out the door to my surprise as they had already packed the car. Surprised by the negative reviews on here because I definitely had 5 star service. I purchased 4 hours of cleaning on Groupon. I have a 2000 sq ft 3br/3ba house. I was amazed at how much the two women got done. My lead maid was Claudia and she came with a partner. They had great attention to detail and everything was clean and organized. There were a few things they didn't get to (baseboards), but we discussed ahead of time what would fit into 4 hours so I knew that in advance. Definitely got my money's worth, and some. I did not purchase any of the "upgrades" offered when I set the appointment (mainly deep cleans) but I feel like the cleaning I got, particularly in my bathrooms, was as good as a deep cleaning. The manager followed up with me after the cleaning and provided a very reasonable monthly cleaning quote. I'll definitely be using them again. read more

Waste of time. They basically wipes stuff down without actually cleaning it. I had to point out several areas that weren't clean or even touched. At one point, I pointed out some debris and a stain on the kitchen floor that she wiped with her cloth and then proceeded to wipe my kitchen counter. She could have at least washed the cloth and sprayed the counter lol. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

For business practices purposes I have to give them 1 star. They play the groupon game very well. 15 miles from Towson area only. Groupon doesn't have the zip code verfication on this deal, They will charge you more than what you paid for the groupon to come out if you're not in the 15 miles area. So ultimately I had to take up the fight with Groupon, because I was unable to put the voucher towards anything they were offering which was not pretty. The gag is they operate out of Ellicot City which in some cases could be within 15 miles of your home (scams) But anyway then after talking to Mike or whomever I arranged for the service just to check it out since they were running a "special" I won't get into the details of that, but the maids did a good job but I seriously am turned off business wise. read more

I was excited to use and order a cleaning service from Maryland Maids using Groupon. The ladies came before expected time 7:30 am on 10/9/2018 which was good.They cleaned up the bathrooms and kitchen and vacuumed basically the entire apartment. I bought the Groupon for 4 man hours they tried to leave after working 1 hour.:: I stopped Them from leaving because they didn't vacuum my room the master bedroom An item went missing from my bathroom and I called the representative who set the appointments for the ladies to come out she said I was lying and that the ladies Never make mistakes by accidentally throwing something away. She then forwarded my complaint to the president of Maryland maids the same answer the president said me the customer was lying about the missing item from my bathroom and didn't want to help resolve my issue . I have NEVER felt so disrespected by a so called place of business. I will be reaching out to my lawyer on this matter read more

Buyer beware of this company!! I read the fine print and plugged in my zip code to make sure that they serviced my area. I fell within the 15 mile limit and purchased. When I tried to set up an appointment on 10/8 after my purchase I got no response. I followed up with a second online request this week and this time got an email stating they couldn't service my zip code. My reply was "that's not what the Groupon states". He requested I call him. So this afternoon I spoke to Mike the owner and he said the Groupon was only for the Towson area. Well, I told him if you would look back at the listing it states that they will only service customers within a 15 mile radius of the 21204 zip code. I told him that I do fall within the limits. This man went back an forth saying it would take him 1/2 hour to get to my home and it wasn't worth his time. This is bad business! Honor what you printed in your ad. I was given a Groupon for their services. It was not a good cleaning job. The house smelled of lemons but that was about it. The house looked exactly the same when they finished. Well they did clean the mirrors. And they cleaned the toilet bowels. But KITCHEN counter top... looked exactly the same. They vacuumed the wood floors. Ran a swifter over them. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I would give this company negative stars if I could. Hold on to your seat, because this is going to be a ROUGH review! I purchased a groupon for 4 early-bird man hours through your company, Maryland Maid Services. We purchased this groupon and trusted your company's service to clean our house prior to having a photographer come and take pictures of our house for the online listing, as we are putting our house on the market. After finding out that I needed to pay an additional $120.00 for the kitchen and bathroom cleaning on top of the $100 groupon I already purchased (valued at $320 might I add - what the heck do you clean for $320 if not the kitchen and bathroom?!) I scheduled the appointment to have our house cleaned at 12:30 PM EST on Friday, September 1st. With the photographer scheduled to come at 4pm that day, that timing was PERFECT! Now you can imagine my surprise when I get an email yesterday reminding me of my scheduled cleaning appointment at 1pm for Friday, September 1st. Now, normally, a 30-minute push back in appointment time isn't a huge deal, so I didn't think anything of it. HOWEVER then, today, your team scheduled to come to my house at 12:30, and then 1:00, didn't show up until 2:00PM! THAT'S 90 MINUTES AFTER THE TIME I CONFIRMED OVER A WEEK AGO! Not only that, but NO ONE called to tell me they were running late. I called AND emailed your contact center AND a non-published email address advising them of the timing issue, and no one responded. When the cleaning person finally did call to tell me she'd be at our house at 2:00, she explained that there was a scheduling issue. NO WAY! Knowing that our photographer would be at the house in 2 hours to take pictures of what was SUPPOSED to be a clean house, you can imagine my concern since we had 3 floors, and AT LEAST two hours of PAID cleaning that needed to be done. However when your team arrived at my house, I smiled and greeted them kindly because I know the scheduling issue is not their fault, they're just trying to do their jobs. So I left them to clean, and I stayed in my home office out of their way for the duration of the cleaning time. Well wouldn't you know it that the photographer shows up, the team is still cleaning, and I'm left with absolutely no time at all to transition my house from prep to presentation. Your team finished up around 10 minutes after the photographer arrived, and on the way out the front door asked if I wanted them to mop the first floor. WHAT DID I PAY YOU FOR IF NOT TO MOP MY HOUSE?!?!?! But I digress, because that's not even the best part. As she finishes mopping (only part of the floor by the way. I ended up scrubbing down the entire laundry room because that room wasn't even TOUCHED by your team) your other team member said to me "Oh, while she (pointing to the mopper) was cleaning the microwave, the door broke. She's not sure how, it just did." So I say "oh Ok." and let them leave. What was I supposed to do, expect two people who clean houses to ALSO know how to fix major appliances?! Well at this point I run upstairs to check out the damage to our microwave. Let me remind you that this cleaning service that we PAID for, and this photographer that we HIRED, were all in preparation to sell our house. A broken appliance can de-value a house by literally THOUSANDS of dollars. In order to make the microwave look at all decent for pictures, I had to cut up strips of cardboard to create a wedge to hold up the glass pane that covers the front of the microwave. Not only do I now have a BROKEN microwave door, the microwave itself is unusable because I'm not a fan of being exposed to radiation. Let me also remind you that I was doing all this while running around my house cleaning up things that your team did not, AND trying to coordinate a photographer. ALL of this stress, interruption to my OWN work day, and time wasted would have been avoided if only your company honored my original CONFIRMED appointment time of 12:30PM. In the 2nd image, you can clearly see the glass pane slid down into the door, creating a 3-inch gap between the top panel and the start of the pane. Now, I normally don't file complaints with the intent of getting anything in return. I manage a team of 44 people myself, and I appreciate the value of knowing when something goes wrong, so I can fix the situation and ensure continued customer satisfaction.
