I asked for a Swedish massage with medium pressure. The gentleman was putting his elbow and arms on my left arm and back area so hard that I had to say stop!! He had to go and get someone to tell him what to do, bc he didn't speak English. I asked for tea tree oil with my hot stones and instead I smell like medicine. Told the front desk all of this before paying and all he said was next time we will put you in the back!!!! All $125.00 plus $20.00 tip ( I only tipped because we all have to eat). The company is responsible for my bad experience and my shoulder still hurting, not the non English speaking employee.

I didn't really understand the admonition on the phone when I set my first appointment, to "pay with cash if you can". I was a bit concerned that it might be a shady business ;) It most definitely is not! You get a punch card if you pay in cash, and get a free massage after 10. Anyway, it's very clean and restfully decorated. Check in was easy, using their tablet. They ask that you circle areas of attention, and this is where I kind of went wrong the first time. I circled something and tried to make the "No" sign on it, but they didn't understand. Let me explain: except for the young man who staffs the front desk, English seems limited at least for the two masseuses I've had. So I had a bit of a time explaining my exceptionally tender Achilles tendon that can't be touched. On my third visit, I took a photo from a website, on which I drew the "NO" symbol around the area. I was a little afraid to offend someone but they actually seemed to appreciate it. All three massages were out of this world for excellence. I tried the hot oil and stones for the second; it was nice but I won't have it every time. I'm going once a month to treat myself, and an hour at $75 is such a good price for how great I feel afterwards. I always tip well, too - and then the total hits my budgeted limit. The oil and stones are only $15 more, so I plan to do that every 3rd time or so. Splurge! I had two with Ivy and asked for her but she was on vacation for my third. I believe that masseuse was named Gloria. She was also very, very good.

My daughter and arrived on time and immediately went to the room for out deep tissue massage. They ladies provided great deep tissue massages and hit areas that either made you wanted to holler because how tight; the lower back due to sciatic pain or from the hot stones which was both my daughter and I first experienced. Honey, those stones were HOT!!! Once used to the heat, it felt amazing. I definitely felt dehydrated afterwards but they provided water to hydrate as part of the recovery. The experience was great and will return. Thanks ladies .

Overall, I'd say my specific experience was closer to 3.5 stars, but I'll bump them up to 4, giving the benefit of the doubt that some issues detailed below were beyond the control of the therapist and spa. The good: **Mary is a fantastic massage therapist. She was communicative, friendly, and responsive when I asked for adjustments/changes. She understood what I wanted to have her focus on and did a great job. By herself, it would be a 5* experience. **The spa is clean and relaxing. Both the massage rooms and the restroom were in great shape. **New Massage tables - at least when compared to my previous experience with Jing Jing/Daisy. **Very affordable, especially with the cash discount for a one-hour massage. Things that could have been better, but I'm not docking a star for: **The night sky ambiance (noted in other google and yelp reviews) wasn't offered - but giving that I'm face up for only about 10-15 minutes, it isn't a huge thing. **Similarly, their website mentions essential oils and hot stone, but again, these weren't offered/discussed. Depending on the cost, they might have been added to the massage. The things that made my overall experience less than stellar: **I called around noon, and made an appointment for 3pm. I arrived around 2:50, and Mary came out of one of the rooms to meet me. She told me things were a bit behind, and it would be 3:15, and showed me what room I would be in. At 3:15, she came in, and said the previous customer was just finishing up. However, by the time the previous customer dressed, paid, and perhaps Mary flipped the room, it was 3:30 before she started with me. So we are a half hour behind the original time. **Mary was also quite busy with being a receptionist - she answered about 5 calls, and had to leave the room to attend to other issues twice. The interruptions definitely affected the flow of the massage. I don't know if they were short staffed, or extra busy due to the rainy federal holiday. **Despite losing some time due to the interruptions for when she had to leave the room, the session ended promptly at 4:30 - no extra time given to make up for time that I was not the initiator of missing time. Most times for the phone she continued the massage while quietly talking to the customer. **At least for my session, the door was kept slightly propped open by a plastic spray bottle on the floor. Not exactly private, especially since I was in the room right next to the lobby. If any one of the above things had been an individual incident, I probably wouldn't think much about them. But when they all occur on the same visit, well... the whole is greater than the sum of the parts... Maybe it was just a rough day for them. Hopefully my next experience will be a little smoother.

I have come here at least half a dozen times and have always seen John D. I moved to Bowie from…read moreGermantown, MD about 3 years ago and had tried several other local massage studios with mixed to awful results. I have severe neck and back tension for the last 12+ years with frequent tension headaches and always ask for *DEEP* pressure. At other massage studios I've either had a massage therapist that was not using enough pressure, wasn't focused on the areas I requested, or did not seem to be well-trained to give a massage. And even if I found a therapist at a studio that provided a decent massage, the next time I would get someone else with wildly different (poor) skills, or after circling the "problem areas" on their form or telling the therapist directly what I wanted, I would just get a generic massage over my whole body instead of any focus areas and they wouldn't avoid the clearly marked "avoid" areas. And even if they immediately recognized and acknowledged "your neck is very tense!" I would leave feeling frustrated, still tense, and feel like I wasted money. Or the therapist would use things like their elbows (why?) to jab into me which was "deep" but didn't seem like it was an actual massage technique or if it *was* it wasn't used appropriately, as deep does not = pushing as hard as you can. After dozens of massages over the years I can tell on the first visit if a place is worth going back to. Onto John: From my very first visit here (Sept 2025) John immediately sat me down and asked, what was bothering me? After going through my issues, he'd then confirm "Would you like me to focus on your neck and shoulders today?" and then get to work. John is a rather big guy, (not sure how tall he is but definitely taller than 6'3!) and can look intimidating but he's a big softie! As a woman who mainly preferred female therapists, I was immediately comfortable with John and have exclusively booked with him since that first visit because I can tell he knows what he's doing and I always feel better after my appointments with him. I've also gone to my last several visits in a walking boot (I have an achilles injury) and he's made sure I'm comfortable and I completely trust him to avoid my injured leg and listen to what I need each time. My hips and lower back have been very sore from the walking boot height difference compared to my functional leg and he's focused on that recently at my request and it has helped immensely with my pain. I've always booked 1 hr visits but have considered booking longer visits which I never really have done elsewhere! Elements is more expensive than the non-chain studios in the area, but those places weren't worth the cost anyway! Another national chain (has envy in the name, you know who!) gave me a super lackluster massage in the past so I had been hesitant to try a chain again, but my experience at Elements has remedied that fear! Elements also offers gift card deals occasionally that give a discount which I just utilized for their mother's day specials. I will continue to book with John for as long as he is available at the Crofton location! I've also had great experiences with the receptionist - when using gift cards, canceling an appt after I chose a different day and time, and I've also had her reach out to offer an earlier time when John had a cancellation. The only thing I wish they offered was the ability to cancel your own appointments online but I understand they might not offer that so that people aren't constantly cancelling. A small critique as calling or texting the receptionist gets a quick reply always! Although I have not booked with anyone else besides John (looks like I've had 6 appts with him) based on his skills and knowledge I would bet the other therapists know what they're doing also! I will also consider getting a membership here because I know that I will keep going back :)

This is absolutely crazy. I do plan on getting a massage but not from this place and I will not ever recommend a Spa that doesn't have a live person answering the phone, hell I would have even left a message if it would have allowed me to. This Spa should be shut down if they don't have the manpower to have someone answer the phone and schedule appointments.
