Yet another excellent rest stop on the East Coast. I was travailing in a giant moving van from NYC to California and this was our first stop to get gas. I ventured over to the the main area to see what was what. Killer food court with plenty of options, a dog park for those with fur babies and kids. It was a pretty large structure and counted 6+ eateries. It was a killer place to stop and stretch. read more

Relatively clean, spacious and adequate selection of food. That's pretty much all one could ask for from a restaurant stop.

This place is big. It's clean, bright, safe. I blocked the windows in my vehicle and my dogs and I had a decent sleep for being in our car overnight. Gas, selection, bathroom, staff. Everyone is good. All the details are good. And I also think it's a pretty place. The architecture is nice - I enjoy it. Lovely rose bushes with a good scent to them out front, too! Bathrooms were so-so in terms of cleanliness. Men's and women's are on completely opposite ends of the building. Did not have nearly enough staff- even line at convenience store was at least a dozen people. There is another option for drinks and snacks over near the gas pumps. read more

It's a bit of a madhouse in this rest stop, but I appreciate that it's relatively clean and modern.

This rest area has been improved since the last time I was there. The bathrooms are fairly clean, and they seemed to have a really efficient and large enough cleaning crew. So that is really nice!! There are several good food options--including a grocery store. (Like--Phillip's Seafood and Nathan's Hotdogs...unique choices. It is a pretty decent rest stop. It has a lot of food options. It has great lighting and plenty of seating. It reminds me of a food court in a mall. It looked clean for the most part. The women's restroom had an entire left wing of toilets out of order. So that made the bathroom a bit crowded. But other than that it was fine. read more

This rating is for the 7-11 and Sunoco fueling section only (I did not visit the "main" rest stop area. I got gas here while travelling along 95 and also needed a pee-break and it was POURING so after an un-eventful fill-up I chanced it and yes, they do have restrooms in this area, too - just smaller and dirtier. Not horrifying but not wonderful. 7-Eleven is not a great franchise. read more

Unbelievably filthy rest stop. Starting with the trash that litters the parking lot and moving on to the restroom where you can smell the urine 30 feet away from the entrance to the men's room. This is by far the dirtiest place I've been in in ages. Keep in mind that all of the food service employees have to use the same dirty restroom facilities. Avoid if at all possible. read more

It's a staple while traveling around 95 south. Always busy with people from all over the world passing through , right on the highway so you can just right back on 95 when done . This rest area has a huge parking space for charter buses , cars etc . It's a few franchises here if you choose to grab food , this place is over huge inside . It's a decent large rest stop with a variety of food and beverage options. There's also a convenience store inside. Bathrooms were kind of gross-one whole side was closed and they only have one changing table available. Otherwise it's ok and a nice point to stop after passing Baltimore. read more

I normally like stopping off at the Maryland house rest stops for breaks, food and to fuel up. But the Dunkin' Donuts inside Maryland house has become HORRIFIC!!! #dunkindonuts I pop in for a coffee and a wrap- the line is 10 people deep- can't use the on the go app it doesn't work inside there. So you have to wait 20 min to get through the kiosk line (they shut down counter ordering so allllll those non digital people who don't know how to order? Yeah you're waiting for them as they figure it out) to wait another 15 min for your overpriced (yes!!! Way More expensive here. $4.77 for a Medium hot coffee) and then when handed to me? Luke warm bath water coffee. And worst part?? Because you can't use the on the to app, I can't get the rewards for spending!! I paid $30.00 for 2 coffees, 2 wraps and 6 donuts. A bit outrageous, lines horrific. Won't be using Maryland house Dunkin again. read more

I never thought I would say this about a rest stop but this place was very useful. We had stopped here the first time on our way up to my parents' house in Queens. We were hungry, the dog had to go for a walk, and we wanted a break since we had like 4 hours or so left to drive. The parking lot was packed with cars so we parked a little far. Since there were a lot of people walking around, our dog felt the need to bark at everyone so parking further away worked anyway. There were so many people that there was a traffic jam of people coming in and out of the doors. Since we just wanted to eat and get back on the road as soon as possible, I didn't really browse around and headed straight to my target, Nathan's. I did not realize how massive this building was from the outside! This is definitely a spot to stop if no one can decide on one place to eat! We stopped another time on our last road trip to see if they sold EZ Passes. They do not lol. There was not really any place inside that looked like they did so I asked at the customer service desk. Not the nicest person or sharpest tool in the shed. She showed me a list of places in MD that sold them. I asked about any convenient stops along 95. And she said no. She was wrong and I just tuned her out while I documented the locations. There is a healthy snack place by the doors, I believe 2 travel shops, Dunkin, Nathan's, Burger King, and I think one or two other places to eat. read more

The bar for I-95 rest stops is pretty low, so to say this one is scraping the barrel is an understatement. My last visit was pre-Covid, so it's clear that this place deteriorated significantly during the last 3 years. Bathrooms (Ladies) - Over half of the sinks are "closed" with covers on them. At least a third of the bathroom stalls have doors/locks that do not close, do not lock, the door is too large for the opening or too small for the opening so you can't lock it. Food - All ordering has to be done at these kiosks that 50% of the people don't know how to operate and 40% of the rest are large groups, holding up the line because they are waiting for the rest of their party to come over and add to the order. You can be third in line and it's a 20 minute wait just to get to the kiosk. read more

On my road trip down to Orlando, I dropped into Maryland House, which is a service area on Interstate 95. Having been to my fair share of Service Areas in New Jersey, my expectations were very low. Walking through the doors, the lobby of the rest area is almost indistinguishable from the food court at the mall. It was clean, spacious and filled with a lot of food choices. It even had self service soda machines! If only the Service Areas in NJ could be like this. TLDR: Am I at the mall's food court? I thought this was supposed to be just a rest stop. read more

This place is a pretty decent place to stop off at if your traveling the on 95. There are plenty of choices here to for food and they also have a convenience store within the place for coffee or other needs. The bathroom facilities were clean. The whole place is clean as well. There is a gas station across the store. They also had places to eat within along with convenance store setup. This location is a great place to stop. read more

This is THE WORST travel stop we have ever made. We stopped here last year and it was fine! I don't know if it's covid, new management, or the zombie apocalypse but this stop was such a disaster. The only food concession with a working human at 1130 pm on a Saturday was at the god awful pizza place. Wendy's had a broken kiosk so the only other kiosk available (you can't actually speak to a human) had 25 people lined up and not a Wendy's bag in site (clearly noone was getting any food). Nathan's unavailable, fish place with the metal grate down, burrito place closed, dunkin donuts had a mob of 50 people looking ravenous and angry, even the pretzel place was still closed. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, Maryland House. The bathrooms were filthy and had no toilet paper or soap. Even 2 or 3 of the gas pumps were broken!!! We will NEVER EVER stop here again. read more

I was driving to Washington DC and decided to stop off at Maryland House for a quick stop before heading back onto the road. Maryland House has a very large parking lot because it gets a ton of foot traffic. I was on the road on a Sunday so it wasn't too bad, but Maryland House was still pretty crowded. Inside Maryland House it is very clean and modern. Upon walking in I was greeted by the site of a bunch of massage chairs, which I thought was very cool. They looked very comfortable, but it costs $5 to actually get a massage. There are a bunch of food options if you are hungry and need to stop off for a bite to eat. The options include Dunkin' Donuts, Phillip's Seafood, Sunshine Market and Auntie Anne's. I wasn't too hungry as I had eaten before leaving so I decided to just get a drink at Sunshine Market. Maryland House is environmentally friendly as they have glass panels on the ceiling for natural light, which I thought was a nice touch. In the same parking lot as Maryland House is a Sunoco, which is great if you need to get some as before going back onto the road. Altogether, Maryland House is a very nice pit stop that is modern, clean and has some great food options. read more

Would be one star but the staff was clearly extremely stressed and managed to be kind regardless. #1 issue here is understaffing and having only 2 restaurants open past 8pm. Ended up standing in an astronomical line at Nathan's for a little over half an hour. Finally placed an order for one corn dog and a two hotdog meal with bacon cheese fries. Waited another 20 minutes before our order was finally done. At this point, I was so hungry I thought they couldn't possibly serve me something gross enough for me not to finish. Wrong! Instead of a corn dog I got 3 of the tiniest chicken tenders I have ever seen in my entire life. Gave them a chance anyway, but they were dry, tasteless, and the breading fell to pieces. The fries were soggy and limp with a terrible texture and no bacon. Tasted like they were frozen and reheated in a microwave. Hotdogs weren't any better. The look of them alone was enough to make my stomach turn. They were greasy and coated in black gunk. I didn't even attempt to eat one, which my husband assures me was a good call. All in all, ended up leaving hungry, grumpy, and with an extra two hours tacked onto our eta. Save yourself some trouble and go literally anywhere else. This place was a pretty good stop. It isn't too crowded, but I wish they had more places opened for eating at the time. I saw most of the places were closed and really, I was here to stretch and take a break while my car was charging. I used the rest rooms which was relatively clean compared to most stops on the NJ turnpike. Whenever I drive long distance in this direction, I tend to depend on locations like these because they are easy to enter and leave compared to the ramp style on the NJ turnpike. I really have no complaints to this place as I am able to finish my business with relative ease. My only nit picky thing about this place are the signs of regular cars and buses. I was unsure where I can turn to get to the regular parking lot rather than the truck and buses only place. Luckily there was not that much in terms of confusion, but one thing to nitpick. When I left, it went straight into the right direction so sometimes I did not feel like I was that far from the road when I took the stop. Would I come here again? Yea. Would I come out of my way to come here? No. It's a rest stop. Nothing more. If you need to fill up or charge or use the bathroom while you are going somewhere else, use this place. Please do not just come out here just to come out here. read more

This review was from July 2018. The rest stop is always open, but not all the establishments are open 24/7. The sitting area and the restrooms are well kept. During the late night hours, only Dunkin Donuts and the convenience store. The staff is limited, but they are always friendly. I usually visit the DD for a coffee, which is always fresh. I wish the outside maintenance crew would be able to keep the parking lot maintained...because people are the worst and are straight-up lazy with cleaning up after themselves. read more

I prefer stopping at Maryland House more for gas than for a rest break. I find it to be in an optimal location to refuel when I'm heading home from trips to New Jersey. The women's restroom is also closer to the southbound entrance, so that's a plus as well. Maryland House is farther south than Chesapeake House, but not by much -- maybe 20 miles or so. It works in a pinch and I'll continue to visit, but if I can reach my destination without having to stop at all, that's my goal. I find the concessions here to be super overpriced. I had a pretzel once that was exorbitantly marked up. I don't really buy food here if I can help it. I'd much rather just stop off one of the exits in that case. read more
