In my 3 days experience walking around Baltimore and surrounding areas of the hotel, it is pretty bad. There are people on the streets clearly on drugs and the Marijuana smell alone lingers on me after i walk pass them. Alot of homeless people, people boldly asking for money, people of certain variety gathering on the streets making it intimidating to walk by. So, to say the least, the location of the hotel is terrible unless the city cleans up the streets and straighten out the community. Inside the hotel, people were helpful and nice. Everywhere inside is too dark. It might be on purpose but it give creepy vibes or didn't pay electric bills vibe. The intended vibe is supposed to be very baltimore and i can see why. The room is clean and nice. Still dark. The bed is soft and comfortable. Outlets are a complaint for me. I had to move take and chair to the corner of the room to plug in. Bathroom is clean as far as I can tell. My only complaint in the bathroom is when showering, occasionally the water unexpectedly becomes scorching hot. Maybe someone flushed on the other room but I got temporary burn right in the face so be careful. The ash bar was the only food spot inside the hotel. Dinner was alright but I'd pass on breakfast here. Overall, it is a decent hotel in a bad neighborhood. I wouldn't come back mainly because of the neighborhood. Baltimore is just overall in rough shape.

My room was very quiet, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I loved the canopy - felt like my room when I was a kid! The hotel is in the Mount Vernon area of downtown Baltimore, and there were lots of charming restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I was also easily able to catch and Uber to work-related destinations and the airport, so the location is incredibly convenient. On my final day in town, I had an late flight and the front desk allowed me to leave my luggage there for the afternoon, which was incredibly helpful! As a business traveler, the room did lack some of the amenities I prefer on a busy trip (like an in-room fridge, coffee maker, an in-room desk area, and adequate outlets for charging). While I would most definitely stay at the Ulysses again for leisure trip, I don't know that I would choose this property again for a business trip.

They had a small lot and our car, with belongings, were safe. Upon arriving we were worried what the place would look like inside. It was very nice. We were also happy to see that they had an elevator. We were warmly greeted and shown our room. The room was very clean. The bathroom was large and appeared to be marble or at least, very good stone. We had a jacuzzi and a separate shower. It was difficult maneuvering the jacuzzi as the faucets and knobs were very unique. The refrig and microwave were in the closet. We didn't find it until my husband went down to look for the fridge with complimentary water! Breakfast was very good. You ordered the night before and there were no mistakes. Breakfast alone was worth upwards of $10 each. The fruit was good and both our omelettes as well. I had the egg white and my husband - usual omelette. We shared a waffle. There was a Keurig and water available all day. We enjoyed our stay and walked into Fells Point - not a short walk (1 mile or so) but when eating fresh ice cream from the oldest market (that just opened) a walk was necessary!

Above all, Guy and Clelia are amazing hosts that go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I had an entertaining time talking to Guy about his military career and he was just as invested in learning about mine. He also gave me a bunch of recommendations on where to visit and places to eat in the area. For breakfast, Guy and Clelia make sure to note if you have any food allergies and they also check in on what time you'd like to have breakfast so everything is prepared beforehand. Breakfast featured a beautiful place settings that was meticulously put together and my heart shaped pancakes were delicious. TLDR: Thank you Guy and Clelia for being amazing hosts!

Guy & Clelia were great with communication as soon as I made my reservation. I'm not a stranger to Baltimore but wanted to do something different. This was my first time staying at a bed & breakfast. Baltimore is my home away from home. Nostalgia and my love for row houses heavily influenced my decision to stay here. Breakfast both days was good, but the French toast was my favorite. My stay was peaceful and quiet. I'm not a light sleeper; however, anyone who is may have had trouble sleeping with the windows ac unit on as it was a little loud. Also, there was a TV in my room but it wasn't operational. I didn't mention it to the hosts as I took it as a sign that I needed to rest, and I used my own device for entertainment. If you're looking for a unique experience in Baltimore, don't mind chatting with Guy and fellow travelers at breakfast, consider staying at the Wilson House. I'd return in the future.

The hotel has so many cute rooms with different themes and designs. There was so much thought put into the decor. Rooms are clean, food is great. There is a beautiful restaurant called topside where you see the view of the city. It's breathtaking. Then for breakfast you can head down to the Dashery. For a late night vibe they have speak easy lounge called B-Side. So much to do during your stay without leaving the hotel. I can't wait to go back.

Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing, and the way our reservation was handled left us feeling unwelcome, dismissed, and discriminated against. We had a confirmed reservation, Reservation 9803, and traveled specifically for this stay. During our communication with the property's representative, Samuel Bailey, Innkeeper, I was driving on the freeway and explained that I was having difficulty hearing him clearly. I was still attempting to communicate and resolve the situation. There was also a significant address discrepancy. The address provided to me verbally by the property differed from the address contained in the property's automated communication. Naturally, I was trying to clarify which location I was supposed to go to and obtain assistance with my arrival. Instead of receiving basic hospitality and assistance, the situation escalated and the property ultimately canceled my reservation. I did not request that my reservation be canceled. The property later sent me written confirmation stating that Reservation 9803 had been canceled and identified Samuel Bailey, Innkeeper, in connection with the property. I subsequently contacted Booking.com to dispute the cancellation and request a full refund. What makes this particularly troubling is that Booking.com later contacted me regarding the disconnected phone call and stated that there had been no sound from my side and that the property attempted to call me back. That explanation does not address the central issue: I was trying to communicate that I could not hear properly, there was conflicting address information, and I was seeking assistance, not cancellation. As a traveler who had come from out of state, the appropriate response would have been patience, clarification, and hospitality. Instead, I was left without the accommodation I had traveled to Baltimore to use. I also want to be very clear about the impact this had on us. My partner and I were visiting Baltimore for the first time. Rather than beginning our trip feeling welcomed as guests, we were placed in a situation where we felt that our concerns were dismissed and that we were not afforded the same courtesy or consideration we reasonably expected from a hospitality business. We felt discriminated against by the way the situation was handled. I am not claiming to know the intentions of the individuals involved, but I can accurately describe how we were treated and how the interaction made us feel. My voice and concerns did not feel heard, and the decision to cancel our reservation felt disproportionate to the issue we were attempting to resolve. For a hospitality business, this is especially concerning. When someone has traveled from another state, has a confirmed reservation, and contacts you because they are having difficulty locating or communicating about the property, the expectation should be to help the guest get there safely and successfully, not eliminate the reservation. I am currently requesting a full refund through Booking.com and have asked for the matter to be reviewed and escalated. I hope the ownership or management of this property takes this complaint seriously. This was not simply an inconvenient phone call or a misunderstanding. It was the handling of a confirmed reservation involving out-of-state travelers who were actively attempting to obtain assistance. For our first experience visiting Baltimore, this was an incredibly disappointing introduction to the city. I would strongly encourage prospective guests to make sure they have clear written arrival instructions and to carefully document all communication with the property.
