I have been going here for years and have not had one complaint. The service treats you like the family that first established this. It's like you have a genuine connection with these people with how sweet they are. The food is made by a woman that learned to literally make this in MEXICO in her own town. it's honestly way out De Queens league. And the restaurant in general? The place is always well decorated and very clean. 10/10 experience. read more

Great food, service, & margaritas last night. Ordered chicken quesadillas, a Diana, & excellent guacamole- fresh made! Also watermelon, strawberry, & lime margaritas. Our favorites were strawberry & watermelon. Hands down the best restaurant we've went to, which says a lot because I'm picky & hard to please. We'll definitely be back! read more

After camping at the lake for a few days we stopped off at Mary P.O.P.S for a bite to eat before we headed home. I didn't have very high hopes and was pleasantly surprised! The salsa was wonderful, packed w fresh flavor. Chips were crisp and not too salty. I ordered the Marks Chili Relleno w grilled chicken. They give you a choice of 4 dif toppings and I asked the waiter what his fav was, which was the yellow queso. I don't know how the others taste but that yellow sauce went wonderfully w my Relleno. The chicken was flavor awful and juicy, Relleno was cooked perfectly and the poblano had a wonderful flavor. Rice and beans were really good. This dish also came w a small bowl w lettuce, scoop of sour cream and scoop of pick. Wooo that pico was on point!! Lots of fresh flavor!! Wait staff was excellent, very friendly and attentive and always approached w a smile. All in all great meal to end a great weekend! read more

Driving up the west side of Arkansas in the dark, we needed a dinner break; I'm glad we ventured into Mary Pop's. It is as Tex-Mex as you can get, so I don't understand the "family restaurant" moniker, nor how "Mary Pops" explains the cuisine either. Any who... the staff was very young, yet very capable and skilled. The complimentary chips and salsa were great - warm, light and crispy with thick salsa. I ordered a dish that had fajita steak meat covered in cheese, grilled onions, and jalapeño. Nice! The side was 2 bean and cheese sopes. that was my only disappointment, the "tortilla" was thick, soggy and unacceptable. I should have gone with the beans and rice. My sister ordered a dish that had a buttery cheese dish with it - amazing!!! Ask for a guide dog before venturing the 1/2 mile trek to the restrooms. read more

We're from Texas so we're a little biased on Mexican food and this is a Mexican restaurant (don't let the name fool you). And I should also say 3 out of 4 of us don't eat meat. I had the cheese enchilada with rice, we had a burrito with beans, rice and veggies, we had veggie fajitas, chips and queso. Tortillas are fresh and not store bought. Everything was hot and service was good. Overall, we'd stop again when passing through but it doesn't beat our TexMex in Texas. read more

This is a more traditional Mexican food and not so much TexMex. Was here on a Sunday after church. Was busy and lots of families. Menu is put together well. Family owned business. Team members had lots of smiles. Food was great. It would not be for everybody but we enjoyed the change. Bathrooms were clean. Lots of parking here. Just off the main drag in town. Stopped here on the way home after reading reviews. Not disappointed! I got lunch special beef taco and enchilada. Wait staff suggested the green sauce and I am glad she did.. just the right amount of heat.. Husband got beef fajitas which he said we tender.. Great taste and good size serving portions. Chips were really good as well as salsa! Wouldn't have stopped by the name because you don't know it's Tex Mex! Will stop again next time we roll thru! read more

Mary pop's is a family restaurant but with Mexican roots. The reason behind the family restaurant is when you walk in the staff greets you with a smile and treats you like home. They try their best to treat you like family. The owner herself greets with a hug! From alambres to quesadilla to enchiladas to hamburger to ribs and ribeyes there is a variety of food to choose from! If there is something that is not on the menu and you think they could make it all you have to do is ask! The chips and salsa are the best! I myself has to have 2 bottle of it atleast! The chips are simple but that's good because if they had flavor chips that would just takes the flavor away from everything else. I don't know about y'all but the chips and salsa is the first step of a good Mexican restaurant if that doesn't pass then the food won't pass! But trust the food is the most authentic food in this town! I totally recommend this place! I know one bad review stands out more than a good one but trust me on this it's the best out there! We stopped here for lunch on the way to our final destination. The sign reads "family restaurant" but really it's a Mexican restaurant. Most of the menu consisted of typical Mexican-style food but the menu also had American cuisine, e,g. basic burger and fries. We started with white cheese dip with our complimentary chips. The cheese was thin and bland and Chips were thin and tasteless. I tried adding their house salsa to flavor the cheese, but this was runny and also no flavor, so it did nothing to help. I had a cheeseburger with fries, my friends had chicken sandwiches w fries and our fourth friend had chicken tacos w rice. My cheeseburger was dry and obviously a previously frozen patty. My fries weren't cooked and still raw in the middle. My friends said the chicken sandwiches were good not dry, but Friend #4 said the chicken taco wasn't seasoned and quite bland. She did comment the rice was too spicy and added that it tasted as if it had been made from a bag or box. This was very disappointing. Even if the American food was bad (I'll include that packaged condiments were pitched onto our table - how does a Family Restaurant use packaged mayo/mustard, etc?) , how could a Mexican restaurant be so bad at cooking Mexican cuisine? Do yourself a favor, find somewhere else to eat. This place is awful. read more

Not worth the money. All portions, frozen food prep. Gaarlic shimp unpeeled. Tea looks like light brown water. Waitress had no idea of what the place had. Asked for coffee and she did not even know if they had any. Stay home. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. I eat there 2 to 5 times a week. They have great service and the best tea around. It's Mexican, but they have good burgers and fries too. The beef and chicken taco salads are hard to beat. read more
