Hey, what happens at the dermatologist's office STAYS at the dermatologist's office. That's my moto...But, heck. Because I love my fellow Yelpers, I feel moved to break this golden rule and share this gem of a business---I'm THAT impressed! Doctor Dobry is gentle, kind, patient and caring. Her Physician's assistant, Darcy Duffin is just as pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The office is clean and organized and is located in a really good location that's easy to find. BONUS: They have a parking garage if you don't find any spots in the lot. I really appreciate that both the doctor and her assistant are generous with samples. (Yay!) Neither of them try to sell you products or procedures you don't need. The office staff is also very friendly, knowledgeable and wiling to help in any way they can. I'm so happy I found this place and that I live close by! read more

Although Dr. Dobry is very good at what she does, the average wait time has steadily increased in the 13 years I have been coming to her. As I write this, I have been in the waiting room for an hour. The reception clerk just told me it will just be a bit longer. Be aware that your average wait time is likely to be in excess of 30 minutes. After coming for more than a decade, this will be my final appointment here. 2.5 stars. Complete indifference to being timely. They are simply overbooked. Having said that, I do want to reiterate that Dr. Dobry does have a genuinely caring attitude, and will make you feel cared for when she is in the treatment room with you. read more

Like other Yelpers, I've been going to Dr. Dobry for many years. I've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes; usually it's far less than that. Dr. Dobry is an excellent doctor who has helped me maintain good health. She listens carefully and offers sound advice. Her procedures are excellent and she doesn't try to "upsell" products. read more

I recently started seeing Dr Dobry after a recommendation from my friend and I am very happy with her and the results. Staff is very friendly and Dr Dobry is as well. She's also very upfront about costs and doesn't come off as trying to nickel and dime you. She also doesn't try to up sell her services or products. Yes, she runs behind and I have to wait about 30 after my appointment time to be seen but I know that going in so I plan accordingly. Would highly recommend her. Great results! read more

I had my 1st appointment a week ago with Dr. Mary Dobry. Parking was easy. Close to Starbucks is a plus! The waiting area was cozy and very comfortable. The office staff were quite courteous and professional. I had to wait just a little past my appointment time, but it wasn't unreasonable. I have had to wait much longer....many times ......at other Drs. offices. Dr Dobry was great. She listened to what I wanted and my concerns about the possible outcome. I have had some negative experiences before, with having some procedures done. She was quick and efficient and my result was perfect!! Extremely happy with my "revived"look! She did exactly what I wanted her to do. I am in the Medical profession so I am quite selective regarding my medical care. I will definitely go back to Dr. Dobry. I may even try some new things that she mentioned to me. read more

I've seen Dr. Dobry off and on for over 15 years. Some visits had better results than others, but I kept going back. The last time I went, I asked for filler in my lips and she gave me Sculptra...which I later found out is never recommended to be used in the lips because you can develop granulomas. This is exactly what happened to me. I've been living with three pea sized, painful lumps in my lips for about a year now. How could she not know this basic warning about Sculptra? read more

I wish I had experienced the same thing as the other reviewers. Unfortunately, I never even got to see the doctor. I waited in the waiting room for a half hour before I asked the receptionist if I needed to reschedule due to the extended delay. I was told the doctor was in a procedure and would be another half hour. When I went to reschedule, no apology was made and I was asked to come back in 6 weeks; not even an expedited appointment for the hassle. So a 1 hour wait seems to be customary as it didn't phase the receptionist, the nurse or the doctor. Needless to say, I did not reschedule and I will be looking for another dermatologist...any suggestions? read more

my friend and i made an appointment to see Mary Mobry at which time we inquired about the cost of a face peel. the receptionist said it was $99. when we got there we both went into the treatment room together. we were surprised that Mary was then trying to up sell us to a $299. treatment. we just had the $99. treatment. upon leaving, the receptionist said we needed to each pay $25. office visit in addition ot the $99. we were both taken back as it was never communicated when we made the appointment nor was it communicated when we arrived. we have been asking our $25. back but she refuses. on our way home, we got a call from a pharmacist who works with Mary wanting to fill a prescription for some cream that we never asked for but apparently our phone numbers were given out to some unknown pharmacy. very unethical and unprofessional read more

Called to make an appointment because a friend of mine goes to this Dermatologist and the attitude of the receptionist was appalling. Her customer service skills are non existent and she talks to customers as if she is owed something. I will not be going to this office ever. Yelpers Beware! read more

I love Dr. Dobry and Jennifer. They are amazing at what they do. Even the front staff is fantastic. I have been going to Dr. Dobry for years and she is so kind and knowledgeable. Her skin care products are fantastic. read more

I've seen Jennifer RN when I went in there. She's very accommodating. She explained the procedure well and what to expect after. I did appreciate that. The clinic is easy to find and parking is not a problem. As a bonus, starbucks is within the area. read more

She's excellent..that's why she's swamped, but always tries to stay on schedule, while accommodating patients with extra procedures that pop up. Vey considerate and caring about her patients!! I've gone to her for 20 years! She is the best! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Dobry for over a decade and could not recommend her any more enthusiastically. She is well suited to treat a wide array of medical issues and has a very kind heart. I highly recommend her! read more

I have also been a patient for almost 20 years- I wouldn't waste my time, money or health going to anyone else. The wait time has never been an issue- I find it relaxing to sit in the waiting room reading magazines and not having to answer calls, emails and texts. Dr. D had also referred me to an eye surgeon many years ago- who was excellent. I appreciate her honestly and her skill. Unfortunately- I have been so busy- I can't get over to her office for an appointment. Hopefully soon! Side note- my 16 year old son had acne and what I thought looked like scarring- they cleared him right up with a couple of simple procedures and we are both super pleased. Look no further- if you have to wait to get in to see her- it is worth it- she is busy because she is the best! Nicole Ragan read more

Dr. Dobry is the ultimate professional, experienced and very kind. She listens to the patient and quickly knows the solution. She does not try to sell cosmetic products nor do the office staff although she has all available options in her office. Parking is easy and on site. My insurance was accepted with limited paperwork. Dr. Dobry removed some precancerous growths and skin tags within 20 minutes. She is very popular in the area. I highly recommend Dr. Dobry for all skin concerns. Absolutely outstanding! 10 stars!!! read more

I am very disappointed by the lack of professionalism. I have gone to Dr. Dobry for around 6 years for annual check ups for skin cancer. Last Fall around September, I noticed an odd pimple or mole looking bump near my top lip. I had Dr. Dobry check it in November since my aesthetician thought it looked suspicious. She said probably was a mole but we will keep an eye on it. It didn't go away over the next months. It didn't seem quite right and had bled a bit if I bumped it with a towel or wash cloth. I went in for a second opinion to a different doctor in June. He didn't even have the time to put on his eye glasses or biopsy it before he said he was 99% sure it was skin cancer. He then biopsied it and the results came back he was right. I then had to do MOH surgery in July to remove it. That means 7 months went by before it was cared for. I called Dr. Dobry to let her know as a courtesy, hoping she would be more vigilant for her other patients. The receptionist ask for a message and probed for info. When I told her why I was calling she didn't seem to care and proceeded to tell me I had a small balance. I asked why they didn't call me to tell me. She didn't know. She asked for payment. I said I would like to speak to the doctor first and hoped that she would write off the balance in goodwill since she misdiagnosed me. I never heard back. I called exactly a week later and she remembered me and said they have been busy and she would leave the message again. Again I heard nothing. I called back 5 weeks later to check if I had a balance and again left a message and heard nothing. I am very disappointed by the service. read more

Dr. Dobry is very busy, as she has been very popular for many years.  I have seen her dozens of times since she was at UCSD in 1990.  My mother, 2 sisters, and daughter also see her for mole checks, rashes, and cosmetic procedures.   She is an artist when it comes to looking younger. She is all about looking healthy and natural.  She once told me she worked as a chemist for a few years before starting medical school, so that's probably why she's so good at explaining the science behind everything she does and why it works for you. I admit there can be a wait to see her, but once you're in the exam room you have her full attention. She always answers all my questions, and I always leave happy! I'm sorry for the reviewer who didn't have as great an experience as I did. read more

Dr. Dobry rocks and her new location has plenty of free parking in a brand new office medical suite. I've been seeing Dr. Dobry for almost 20 years as a cash patient-her prices are very reasonable and she is well worth any wait. You may have to wait a bit, but thats old school. When I was a kid, you'd always wait about 15-20 minutes for the doctor to arrive. Thats a sign of two things: a thriving practice and a doctor who does not rush once she is with you. This was totally NORMAL years ago but probably seems like an eternity to internet age people who think that everything must and should occur instantly. If you've abused your skin for years but need it to be fixed instantly, try a dermatologist or plastic surgeon in Tijuana. I'm sure they will burn your face off in a timely manner, just in time for you to horrify the lunch diners at the Top of the Cove. Or if you want it done right, sit your ass down and wait for the best. read more

Never again will I entrust a doctor ever again in my life after having such a horrible experience with this inhumane and completely uncaring doctor with no compassion for her patients. This crazy woman of a doctor left me scarred from my face after going in for a TCA cross treatment turning a couple of ice pick scars that were less than a millimeter in size and in which that I went in to treat to two huge crater scars the size of an inch on both sides of my face and after suffering so much anxiety and severe depression because of it she ends up calling the cops on me and kicks me outta her office without ever even giving me a chance to speak with her with her acknowledging the fact that I had driven over 100 miles from orange county just to go see her to simply get my money back due to the damages just has now left me with due to some very obvious and clear malpractice. But justice will be served as I'm now in the process of litigating and getting this doctor sued and hopefully removed from the board of dermatology as I would hate for this horrifying experience to happen to any other human being especially one being as young as me with so much more life to live and aspirations to reach. Cause believe me life is hard enough as it is now only imagine trying to reach those dreams & goals of yours when your confidence and self esteem has been shattered due to the mistakes of such a despicable and fowl doctor. But may God walk with me as I fight for the justice I deserve as I keep faith that justice will be served and this doctor will be banned from ever laying a hand on any other patients. read more

Poor time management. I can't say how good she is because I had to leave before my appointment. After waiting 30 minutes, and the woman ahead of saying she was already an hour past her appointment, I asked the front desk how much longer to be seen. They said it would be another 20 minutes (standard answer), which is impossible since they were already behind by more than an hour. I then asked the front desk if it was common for Dr. Dobry to run an hour behind, and they said yes. I had to leave to get back to work, and will be going somewhere else. read more

Excellent physician! I have been her patient since 1999. She is very busy though so I have to book a month ahead (she is very popular), but it is worth the effort. All my friends go to her also and love her. read more

I've gone to Dr. Dobry for years, as have many of my friends, and the only time there was a time management problem was when all the electricity in the area went off because of an accident. She's always been very informative as to what procedures would be the most beneficial and I have found my treatments to be pain free and very effective. I like that she will not do a drastic change with those over-puffed cheeks and the big lips which basically make you look ridiculous. She never pushes a procedure, just gives you the pros and cons and lets you decide. The fact that she has so many clients speaks for itself. read more

Worst experience ever. Botox did not work, she may be using compounding pharmacy product which expires and is not effective. Had to go in twice, paid a fortune. They ask for cash for a discount. Started injecting in my nose which I did not want, staff was rude. Would not go here ever again. Stay away. read more

My asian skin scars easily. I went to Dr. Dobry about 8 years ago when I had a very dark scar on my face that wouldn't go away. She cleared it right up. Recently, I have developed lots of dark scars and even scar tissue on my face. I immediately scheduled an appointment with Dr. Dobry, remembering how she helped my skin before. I thought my appointment was for Thursday but it turned out it was for Tuesday of that week. The receptionist was so understanding as she said the Doctor will try to squeeze me in, even with their very full schedule! I have a very busy life and I don't ever have a lot of down time, but she is worth the wait!! I would have gladly waited over an hour!!! I didn't have to, she saw me after 40 minutes. Even with her packed schedule, when she came to see me, she wasn't rushed and she really addressed all my issues and we even chatted a little about my business and family. As a business owner, I really appreciate her taking the time to really focus on my concerns and needs. Her assistants were doing a great job by trying to keep her on schedule, which I can appreciate, that is their job! The fact that she is so concern with giving such great personal attention to her patients speaks volumes! I live over 40 minutes away and there are plenty of dermatologists closer, but I wouldn't trust my face to anyone else! She is very kind and obviously extremely skilled at what she does! You don't want an empty office, her office is packed because she is that good! Good things come to those who wait! Patience seems to be a dying art. If you want the best with someone who really cares, she really is worth the wait! read more

Been seeing Dr.Dobry since I was 16 and am now 30, she treated me for some acne and is INCREDIBLE!

I have been going to Dr. Dobry for many years for different treatments off and on. I just recently went there for dermapen and chemical peel; I believe she either forgot or did not for some reason, use the acid after the dermapen treatment; I even mentioned it to her in the office telling her that I think she forgot to do the peel. She said my skin was so numb that I didn't feel it, but I was awake and aware of what was going on. As a result my face is leathery and not peeling after about 5 days and it doesn't look anything like it will ever peel. At this point I will seek another dermatologist. I have done this procedure few times and at least some skin flaking occurs with the mildest treatment. read more
