I got my hair done by Melissa and my experience was awesome from the very beginning at booking my appointment. I moved to Fallbrook super recently so it was important for me to find a hair salon and get settled in. The space was funky and beautiful, kinda classic rock vibes. It was also clean and well maintained. I am happy to have found the spot for me to get my self care needs met read more

My daughter has been a client of Melissa's for her hair coloring and will not see anyone else. Melissa always does a wonderful/professional job and is very informative on how she needs to take care of her hair. Unfortunately for me I decided to go to another salon for a haircut and ended up with uneven choppy hair and miserable for the entire weekend. Melissa recommend Ian to me in the hopes he can fix my hair. Thank God! He did!! Ian fixed it with ease and quickly. I will not go to anyone else. Although I had a bad experience at another salon I am in a way thankful I did because I would have never found out the skills Ian has with haircuts. Moreover the entire salon is very homey and welcoming with cool art on the wall and is kept very clean. The Receptionist was super sweet and professional. You just feel very comfortable when entering Mary Jane North. Thank you again! read more

Season is a pure artist with her use of color as well as her skills with the scissors. . As my grey hair became more abundant, she instinctively knew how to mix several colors to make more than one pot of color used in my "highlighted" hair to add lowlight. Couple those two things together yielded in a most natural and attractive cut and color. Great professional skills as well as people skills. read more

I live in SD & I have been getting my haircut by Ian & color by Season for probably a decade! Unfortunately after the pandemic they had to close their SD location. I tried a few other stylists in town but I have always been disappointed. Now I make the trip to Fallbrook. It is about an hours drive each way, However, it is worth my time & the drive to Fallbrook to get the best service & results. I honestly have never received a better haircut from another stylist. Ian keeps my thin hair looking healthy with lots of movement. Season keeps my color looking fresh & vibrant .Their shop is very stylish, the prices are fair & they have an easy online booking system. Ian & season are not only amazing stylist but truly awesome humans.I can not recommend Mary Jane North enough! read more

Mary Jane North - Hair Stylists Near Me - Fallbrook, California

Ian did such an amazing job! He's a master of the well-blended layers. A lot of "pros" don't understand that well-blended isn't the same as blocky or blunt layers. Ian got it! The vibe is absolutely relaxed, and everyone was kind. I have tried to get assistance at other salons that brand themselves as "luxury", but half the stylists don't know what they are doing. It was refreshing to go to a place with a real pro that was kind and knowledgeable. read more

Great locally owned Salon! My husband and I moved from San Diego to Fallbrook recently and needed to find a nice, clean and cool place for haircuts. I called today and spoke with Seasons co-owner, stylist and wife of Ian who had a (rare on a Friday) 2pm opening I was lucky to get an appt with Ian. Great haircut and shampoo and very reasonably priced. The salon has a cool, artsy, warm welcoming vibe. So glad I read previous Yelp reviews and took a chance on getting in. We will be loyal happy customers from now on. read more

I had an amazing experience with Ian today! I had another stylist previously over texturize my hair and create choppy layers. I am was wonderful at listening to my hair goals, as well as what I like vs dislike in a haircut. I am beyond happy with the haircut! I highly recommend Ian! I will definitely be coming back in 8 weeks. read more

Stephanie did a cover up on my previously (failed) microbladed brows and wow. 1000% better. The color actually took, the shape is much more even, and her after care instructions weren't ass-backwards like my original one. It's slightly painful, like a cat scratch or a tattoo, but completely worth it. I lost my eyebrow hair when I had a tumor on my thyroid removed. I spent 15-20 mins every day drawing/filling in brows. When you're a mom of 3, you don't have that kind of time to waste. I was desperate and went to the first person I found. So wrong. The color didn't last a week, they were crooked and uneven, and by the 1 year mark it was practically gone. Enter Stephanie! She somehow managed to even them out and with her CORRECT aftercare instructions, the color took! Just have a touch-up left to make my brows even more awesome. It's so great not having to spend time on my brows every. Single. Day. Completely recommend Stephanie for your microblading needs at Mary Jane Salon! read more

Lord willing, Natalie Paxton will be my hair stylist forever! She's managed to make my locks look great, from my crazy demands of Marilyn Monroe white blonde, to short/shaved and pink. I have passed by Mary Jane North many times but never actually looked into them until I was at the Saturday Fallbrook Farmers market one day. Their website has everything laid out and the prices are incredible! I went in after seriously being over confident that I can cut bangs myself. As if 2021 Ashley magically gained the skills these YouTube vids said I had. I sat with my impulse decision gone wrong for a few minutes before I booked the next available appointment. Ian was who I booked with and his reviews on Yelp were wonderful. Well, I can tell you that I'll be a regular here now. Ian whipped up a haircut that's so stellar! He was honest and yet very complimentary at the same time which I really appreciated. He did everything so incredibly fast as well. I'll be back for all of those reasons, plus the amazing music being played. Can't beat a good beat. read more

I have been having my hair colored and cut by Season for about 12 years now and I can't imagine ever going anywhere else. I used to try a different stylist every couple of years, so the fact that I have been with Season for so long speaks volumes about her talent as a hairdresser in addition to being a terrific human! I hesitate to recommend her so highly because I don't want to have difficulty getting an appointment in the future, but give her a try if you want your hair to look fabulous!! read more

I took my daughter in to have Ian cut her hair for her birthday and she wanted layers and curtain bangs and all the works and she absolutely loved the cut! She was a little nervous because Ian has done her brothers' haircuts, and while he also did theirs perfectly, she wasn't sure how the crossover would be from boys to girls. Ian did not disappoint and we are so thankful to have such a great stylist in our local town! Thank you Ian for taking the time to explain why certain techniques and styles would work best for her hair, she just loves it! read more

I've lived all over the county and been to my fair share of salons, and Maureen at Mary Jane North is by far the best stylist I've ever been to. She never fails to make my vision happen! She is so good at what she does. I've also gotten my eyebrows micro bladed by Stephanie which was life changing! After overplucking my eyebrows down to nothing, I no longer have to draw them on everyday. She helped me pick a color and shape that really complimented my face. Highly recommend them both! read more

Epic, clean cuts. I've lived in Fallbrook for nearly five years. Prior to that, I was mostly North County SD coastal. I've seen numerous stylists in the North County area over the past decade or so, but Ian is the FIND! He's a great collaborator when you're thinking of switching things up, and welcomes your input while executing the details with good vibes, creativity, expert hands and aplomb. My wife goes here as do my two kids. We're so stoked to have Mary Jane North as an innovative, cutting-edge, clean, fun and overall RAD salon mainstay in our community. read more

I'm thrilled to report that this salon -- and Ian -- are, in fact, everything other reviewers have claimed. At Ian's invitation, I went back today to see about having my hair cut corrected, and I am so happy I took him up on it! Ian spent time talking to me about where things went wrong last week with one of his stylists and understood my frustration at the way my cut turned out. He did a fantastic job at cutting my hair to accommodate the very short layers the other stylist had cut last week and I am very happy with the result. I was also able to find some styling cream to add to my routine and give my hair a more chunky look. The salon is very stylish and modern looking, a refreshing addition to our small town. I will definitely be back for hair cuts and even color. It's always a huge plus to find a business in town that does a great job and takes good care of their clients. And I will definitely be bringing my daughter along next time. After today, I know they will do a great job cutting her curly hair. read more

I'm always jumping from one hair salon to the next hoping for once I'll be happy with the cut, and I think I found the place. I have thick, long, curly hair that is hard to manage, and I feel as if most stylists don't know what they're doing with it. Ian knew exactly what to do and we were both on the same page with what we wanted the finished product to look like. I left the salon loving my hair and I know I'll be back. read more
