Dr Dima is generally very sweet but when I came to her with bad and persistent shoulder pain, I ask if she'd advise physical therapy, as I assumed that would be the best first step. She told me we should wait and see if medication would help. When it didn't help, I went back. She asked if I had started physical therapy and when I told her I hadn't, she smiled at me and told me (I felt with condescension) that this would ideally be where I would start with treatment. When I told her ~she was the reason I hadn't~ she pivoted. Saying "ah yes that's right" and moving on. I have been charged for appointments that I had already payed for. I have waited hours and hours for an appointment I was scheduled for. I have been asked to come in to renew prescriptions that I had not run out of refills on. I will not be returning to them.

I misjudged the weight of a crate and ouch, that hurt. I assumed it was a simple muscle strain, but I'm no physician. Dr. Weiler, however, recognized my symptoms as consistent with a more serious injury and, thanks to her and her very professional staff, I had an X-ray, an MRI and saw a specialist, all within four days of my initial visit with her. There's no way I could've achieved all these appointments on my own. It's only because of Dr. Weiler and her staff that I got in to see a specialist that very same week. UPDATE: Within 10 days of that first appointment with Dr. Weiler, I learned I'd suffered a 95-percent separation of my bicep, and had the surgery necessary to correct it. Yes. All within 10 days. If not for Dr. Weiler, the injury I mistook for a simple strain could've very easily become so severe that even surgery wouldn't have been an option. Besides that, the specialist to whom she referred me was among the best of the best. Another win for Dr. Weiler. She's got a lot of those.

After just two appointments with Dr. Simms and additional biometric (blood and saliva) testing, we both came to the conclusion that not only was I working against my thyroid by way of the foods that I was eating, but I was also suffering from iron and vitamin D deficiency. Additionally, I had moderate hormonal imbalances. These weren't far-fetched, non-Western conclusion, but founded in more accurate interpretations and more complete biometrics. The "prescription" was a variety of supplements to address deficiencies and excesses. I appreciate that Dr. Simms did not push me to buy the supplements offered at her clinic, as this would have been a turn-off for me. Through some research, I was able to meet my nutritional and supplements needs in an affordable way. I have not yet had my biometrics re-run, but I know that I am better off. She is thorough and checks my levels every few months. She called me personally (multiple times to avoid just leaving a message) to explain the change in my thyroid levels and why she wanted me to change my medication dosage. I have seen many doctors in the last 5 years, and I hardly ever get calls from the doctor themselves! Her nurse and office staff are great- they remember my name/medical history when I call in and are as accommodating as they can be. I plan on switching to her as my PCP as well.

I wound up admitted through the ER after having a hypertensive crisis and wasn't even there for anything having to do with endocrinology. However, because I was on thyroid medication, as well as hydrocortisone after having surgery to remove a pituitary tumor, the medical team in charge of my care consulted with Dr. Dhali. She completely changed crucial medication, was condescending, and downright incompetent. She also placed notes in my file saying she suspected I was lying about my medical history. Absolutely outrageous. Once I got out of there I went to see my endocrinologist at Northwestern ASAP who had been managing my care successfully for 4 years and immediately corrected Dr. Dhali's dangerous medication changes. My endocrinologist was absolutely appalled that Dr. Dhali made such drastic changes without knowing or receiving my medical history from Northwestern. This woman is a kook and your health is in danger in her "care." The ONLY reason I ended up at Swedish Covenant ER was because I had a hypertensive crisis and it was the nearest hospital so the ambulance took me there. The goal was to get my blood pressure under control so that I wouldn't have a damn stroke. The cardiologist was great and he did get my blood pressure under control and ran appropriate test. There was no need for Dr. Dhali to bombard in and start messing with my crucial hormone medication (thyroid and hydrocortisone). By the way they don't even carry hydrocortisone. What kind of hospital doesn't carry hydrocortisone? Please, please for your own sake. If you have any endocrine conditions, go elsewhere. I believe Dr. Dhali is a danger to the public!!!!
