He's very engaging and talks to the patients and my boyfriend was very comfortable with him and was very happy with the visit with this doctor. He expressed an interest in making him his primary doctor since he seems to be more concerned about his patients needs and makes sure that they're ok and keeps their spirits up when they're going home. It was at that moment that I saw my boyfriend's attitude change very fast because he was more happy and upbeat about going home after his primary care doctor had him parked up in the hospital for what I saw was an uneccesary number of days that left him weak and lethargic. They also have Phlebotomists on site so no need to worry about terrible attempts at blood drawings. Today, I went in for my first appointment with Susan Alt and it was perfect! She's incredibly blunt and thorough as well as having great bedside manner. She ran through my old files with me, clarified some things, shared her thoughts and recommendations. She also was able to pick up on me not wanting a Dermatology referral just yet and was very understanding. (Side note: Susan Alt can also do pap-smears, talk about 2 in 1, pun not intended)! Lost a star for the way my blood was drawn, it felt pretty painless at first but the gauze/cotton was pushed against the needle as it was being pulled out so an artery was nicked because my entire arm was bruised up and in a lot of pain this past week. Definitely will be returning regularly!

I have a ton of family and family friends in medicine so there's always a plethora of knowledge around me; and different opinions. I went on my insurance website and took down bios for about 20 doctors. From there, I vetted them by specialty, location and reviews.I wanted someone personable, who I could relate to, and most importantly- someone smart who knew what they were talking about. I found everything and more in Dr. Daniel. Dr. Daniel is not only smart but she's fantastic at explaining the chemical processes going on in your body. She teaches for Swedish Covenant so she's well versed in all the common questions (that her residents have). She also believes firmly in the osteopathic approach to medicine. That pretty much means she believes in the "whole body" approach instead of just focusing on the body as separate organs. She has an open mind and believes with going with what works. Finally she is personable and encouraging. We talked about random stuff and she made me feel so comfortable. Making an appointment was simple and the office did not feel like a typical medical office. It's located at a former office/administrative building so there is a ton of marble and wall sconces. Similarly, about 3 years ago when I first met Dr. Anderson, she diagnosed sleep apnea when it was missed for the 7 prior years by a neurologist and 2 previous primary care physicians. I prefer Dr. Anderson's Skokie office location; where her staff are warm and helpful at getting tests approved or expedited.
