Just read about our very special doctor at Cary Pediatric Center and I had to share…read more Dr Mike Villareal saw our Piper years ago and immediately ordered an MRI after observation. She had a spinal problem and was immediately referred to Duke Children's Hospital. The following year she had fluid on the spine. The neurologist at Duke was amazing in both instances but had our pediatrician not detected a problem, she might not be walking. I saw that he recently pushed for a child to get an MRI when other doctors had not thought it was a big deal. The child had a brain tumor. He is an amazing pediatrician and I felt obligated to recommend him.

If you ever need sick apts I would go to another practice…read more My children have been going to Apex & Cary pediatrics since we moved here 10 years ago. My son has been sick once (enough to need an apt) & my daughter has never been to the doctor except well visits....until recently. My daughter 15y got a head cold a few weeks ago and we ran to fast med. In and out within an hour. Well she needed an apt last week bc her ear has been hurting off and on and we wanted to have it checked out. I call Cary Pediatrics at 8:45am 11.10.22 and they tell me they are completely booked up for the day. Okay, how about tomorrow? "No we do not 'pre-book' sick appointments". I am shocked! Again I've needed them 2 times in a decade so I don't understand not checking the schedule for tomorrow. "You can only pre-book well appointments". Okay, how about walk-in? "Our walk-in ends at 8:50am". I reply, so I can't make an appointment for tomorrow, I can't come in today and your walk-in is only open from 8am-8:50am. "Yes, call back tomorrow at 8am". I say, maybe I need to find a new practice. "Okay have a good day" and she hangs up! No offer to check other offices. I would have gone to Apex, even Fuquay. Nope, nothing! So I called JM&A was seen that day and had a great experience! Oh and they checked all of their locations! They didn't have an appointment at the closest location but they checked them all. I had to drive an extra 5 minutes which I was happy to do! Your receptionists are extremely important. I would have gone to Cary, Apex or even Fuquay-Varina. None of this was offered. She could care less that I said I will be leaving. So I left! I've had some great experiences with Cary & Apex and I've had some horrible experiences (when one of the doctors likened me putting a couple of ounces of 1/2&1/2 in my son's milk to help him meet his weight goals to child abuse...2oz of half and half is NOT child abuse and if it was joke it wasn't funny!!) even after that horrific experience I stayed (vowing never to see that doctor again). This receptionist experience, not taking sick apts over a 36-48hr hour period (since you only have 50min of walk-in clinic), not having walk-in hourS (walk-in minutes), not checking other locations ...well all of that was the last straw.

First I want to say that Dr. Dupuy is fantastic. The reason for my two star is because this office…read morehas become so over crowded with new patients, that there are no available appointments for sick kids or established patients. They never leave anything open for people who need a same day appointment and they have these walk in Saturdays that are from 8-12 and are always crowded or at a different location. Not sure if it's greed but it's sad when a doctor's office keeps accepting new patients when there is no room for them. It's interfering with the care of established patients.

Love everyone there we See Lynn most the time for 12 yrs but have used other drs. They are amazing.read more

Won't be attending this practice again…read more... I woke up with swelling in my face and had no idea why. I decided to look for a local dr that wasn't far from me, and since I never had one since moving to Raleigh, you're kind of just drawing one out of a hat. She tried to tell me it was due to skin irritation from shaving. I explained to her that I've been shaving all my life, and have never had swelling as a result, just some redness, And I knew that wasnt right. Then she really had the nerve to tell me thats just the way my facial structure was (i'm lauging at how much of a joke that answer is). Said she saw swelling, then said she didnt see swelling, and at that point I knew it was going to be a wasted visit. Even her physician in training noticed the swelling. As I knew there's no way that could be right, I went to a specialist on my own accord because she never referred me to one - low and behold...it was a swollen saliva gland, way different than what she said. If you weren't sure what it was, the least that could have been done was to refer me to a specialist, and she didnt even do that. Ridiculous I had to pay for a joke of a visit, and to add insult to injury they spelled my first and last name wayyy off. I'll add a star because they we're somewhat nice, but that concludes this review.

I had completed the pre check in and I clicked "I'm here" to confirm i was in the waiting room. My instructions dais to take a seat until I was called. There were two people waiting when I came in.And they were both taken within ten minutes of my arriving. More people came in and were taken back while I sat there and waited. Half hour after my appointment time, I went to the counter to let them know that I was unable to wait any longer because I had another appointment to get to. The person at the counter said that the online check in doesn't work. And that they could take me at that time. Unfortunately, since I had given them as much time as I could.I was not able to get my blood work done there.I will be rebooking in a different location. It seems to me that if the location knows that they're online check in system is not working. And they see someone sitting in their waiting room for forty five minutes unattended that perhaps they should check in and see if perhaps that person did the online check in. This was an unsatisfactory experience and I will avoid this facility.

My insurance didn't accept, so I am out $317. They then wanted labs. They couldn't draw so they asked me to be back in at 750 am the next day. I came in at 740, waited until 840. I asked the front desk after 10+ people were seen. She said "oh you didn't have an appointment so you just have to wait". I set up an appointment at 740 this morning. I got there at 752 because of an accident on or near falls of neuse. 4 people were ahead of me in line. I got to the receptionist and they told me to make another appointment. Never examined my rash or felt around my stomach to figure out where exactly the pain was coming from. We did agree to do blood work, but she would not let me know which blood tests she wanted to order and the cost for each. She just wanted me to show up and have blood vials taken--could be 1-5 vials. Who knows! I said this was not acceptable and that I wanted to know what tests were going to be performed and the cost. They said they could only tell that to me the morning of the blood draw. I said, nope...I would like to know ahead of time so I have time to research each test and decide which ones make sense to me. They finally agreed they would call me in a few days with this information. They NEVER did!! They called, but it was to schedule my follow-up appointment for a few months from then. They also ordered some kind of sleep test for me without my approval, which of course I would then have to pay out-of-pocket. I immediately cancelled the sleep test with the company. This is a money-making racket! They clearly don't care about patient care and cost to the patient. I will NEVER return!! Lastly, the front desk people are grumpy and unfriendly, and the place is dirty. Yuck!
