Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents is fantastic and I'm so glad I decided to take my newborn to their practice. I believe their Durham location is fairly new, and is part of this large building off NC 54 by the 40 Freeway (it's really easy to find). The staff is not only very friendly, but they were also helpful in getting my new little baby girl set up as a new patient. I am a new first-time mom (just over 2 weeks) and finding a pediatrician before was not necessarily easy. There are so many great choices! I noticed that Chapel Hill PA had a great website, great feedback from friends, and lots of good Yelp reviews for their Chapel Hill location. After giving birth at UNC, my little one and I got quickly set up at their Durham location and have had really pleasant visits since. We have seen Dr. Joe and Dr. Woodrum at the Durham location, and we loved them both - especially Dr. Woodrum! The doctors were both friendly, caring, helpful and attentive to my husband and I's questions and needs. Most of all, they take their time with each family they see. The pediatrics team does a great job of making new parents feel at ease and prepared for the new chapter of life that awaits them. We brought our daughter to Dr. Cooley from the time she was born until she was about six months. The only reason we stopped seeing her was because we moved out of state, and I'm so sad that we had to leave her. We've seen a few other pediatricians since moving, and nobody has ever compared to Dr. Cooley. She's warm, kind, understanding. She has the perfect temperament to be in the field that she's in. When we had our daughter, she made us feel better about not knowing what we were doing. She never made us feel stupid for the millions of obvious questions that we asked. She always answered with grace and kindness. I wish we could replicate her because she truly is one of a kind. I would recommend Dr. Cooley to anyone - especially to new parents. Now having three children and being a seasoned parent, I wanted to update my review. My newborn was not treated properly, misdiagnosed by several doctors over the course of multiple visits, and ended up with a full body staph infection. We've also had billing issues. I actually just spoke with a woman in accounting about a missing $50 cash payment. She was apathetic at best. I would bypass the administrative nightmare and overworked physicians, and take my kids elsewhere. read more

My visits to Chapel Hill Pediatrics in Durham NC need to really do some re-evaluating on their staff. There once was a time a medical place showed professionalism and respect to their patients. This isn't always the case there. The front desk help sometimes doesn't even acknowledge you standing there until after a few minutes of you looking "Like hey you do see me standing here for several minutes so can I get a little help". In my experience the front desk is a joke and doesn't take the job too seriously. They keep their head down until they decide they are ready to help you after you stand, stand, stand there. The office has never been overcrowded or look like they are too overwhelmed to show you that they do have professional skills and manners to at least say "Hi may I help you!" Corporate needs to hire ladies or gentlemen with greeting skills so when people walk in they feel welcome and not a burden. What happen to treating patients on a professional level like nurses use to. I understand that there's a pandemic but when does that mean you don't act professional in the medical field. I never went there with an attitude or no manners so I expect the same in return. read more

The doctors are great but the admin are horrible. Very rude and when they do finally return your calls, don't expect an answer to your question. Go to UNC Children's Hospital instead. read more

We have been going here with our sons over a year. We have seen two different doctors. Although they were not horrible I was not happy with some of the feeding advice I received and neither of them seemed very breastfeeding friendly. read more

Chapel Hill Peds is really great. The staff is all very friendly, and I haven't ever had to wait long. They're also really good about getting your child in quickly when they're sick. We see Dr. Joe, and he's very friendly and patient. The facility itself is also very nice. I was impressed with the level of cleanliness. In all, I'm very happy with Chapel Hill Pediatrics. read more
