We've been with Oberlin Road Pediatrics since we brought home our first child 16 years ago. The level of CONSISTENT genuine care, connection and continually up-to-date medical advice has been such a blessing to our family. When I brought my first two-day old newborn in, Dr. Bo probably told me ten times, "You're doing a great job." The first time I raised concerns about vaccine schedules, I received a non-judgmental, thorough explanation with scientific research and data to help me understand the "why" of it all. When our son had severe and regular vomiting, Dr. Wasserman noted having just read up on cyclical vomiting as a neurological symptom, not GI. Our neurologist was amazed at this quick and accurate identification of a brain issue over a digestive one! When our daughter was 12 and wanted to chat Gilmore Girls, her new doctor raved about her favorite episodes with her. We can't say enough about our love for this consistent level of quality and caring medial expertise. Thank you for so many years of care, ORT! I'm so sad that my oldest will soon be aging out of your care! read more

We have been with Oberlin Pediatrics for over 8 years with our 2 girls. As of today, while we refused on 5 year old getting her 2nd MMR vaccine, they have recommended us finding a new care provider. Keep in mind the 1st MMR vaccine gets you 94% covered, when the 2nd MMR vaccine gets you 97% covered. Ultimately, they are sending us elsewhere because we do not see the benefit in getting another vaccine that will only provide an additional 3% of coverage for MMR. The doctors are choosing profit over actual care for their clients. Sad day in America when this is the standard of most doctors. read more

I'm a fan of Oberlin Road Pediatrics! My son is on the small side so we are in the office a lot for weight checks and the wait time is usually very reasonable. A handful of times the wait has been long and they always apologize and try their best to be on time for your appointment. What I really appreciate is how flexible they are with getting you in, especially with an infant. We have called at 5pm and they tell us to come right in as well as on Saturday or Sunday when my baby was sick. Each time they have told us to come right in. With infants they would definitely rather have you come in and check out the baby rather than having you wait it out at home. We mainly see Dr Wasserman and think he is great, we also enjoy seeing Dr Vining. I do wish the waiting room had a bit more separation between the sick side and the well side. There is only a fish tank separating the two, I'd rather see a separate room. Something to note is they only take new patients as infants (or siblings). So if you are interested in joining here be sure they see your baby from birth. read more

My child has been going here since birth, and I am so glad. They are friendly, and always remember us (no matter how long its been). While there have been some changes, the doc & nurse who saw her at 2 days old are still there today. I feel that they are genuinely nice, and it is not artificial in any way. The practice has multiple doctors, so you stand a great chance of being seen in a timely manner. They have walk in appointments (sick) from 7-8:30am daily. And they are open (limited hours) on Saturday. They are even open for late hours, on some days! They have always been great on calling back or calling in medicines. Today, my child was sick, and we went in. It was just a reminder of how happy that I am with them. So here I am, yelping them up!! :-) I take my child here. Is there any greater referral, than trusting your family's welfare? read more

Dr. Galla is the primary care physician for both our sons. My cousin recommended this practice to us (they still drive from Wilson, NC to take their children to the Dr here after they moved). They have a 24 hour nurse line and amazing sick visit hours. Every doctor we have seen over our many sick visits has been wonderful. I have never talked with anyone who has had a bad experience with Oberlin Rd. They have a tour regularly for prospective parents. Go meet them. I really cannot say enough good things about our experience. read more

I have been coming here for 22 years and Dr. Shaw has been amazing since day one. Any question or concern you have health and medical wise for children and even young adults, Oberlin Rd is for you. The nurses and doctors there are so nice and have always been! Even when it was time for me to move to my "adult doctor" there recommendation were great! This is my FIRST choice for anyone looking for a great children doctor! read more

We have just moved to the area with two children. This practice is NOT accepting new patients at this time. I'm figuring most folks who are looking at reviews of pediatricians are looking for someone who is accepting patients, so this may be helpful for you to know. read more

I was a patient of Oberlin Road Pediatrics as a child and have been using this practice for my children for nearly 18 years. Excellent Doctors and nurses, especially Dr. Bodenstine and Dr. Burleson. They take the time to diagnose the problem rather than assuming it must be the "bug that's going around" as many doctors do. They care greatly about their patients and always spend time listening and getting to know the child. Office hours are very flexible, including weekend appointments. Calls to the nurse advice line are returned very quickly. The only negative I have with this practice is that one of the receptionists is not very friendly and sees herself as a gatekeeper, despite her obvious lack of medical training. Making or cancelling an appointment with her is unpleasant. All the other front desk staff are great. read more

If you are looking for a pediatrician I would not recommend Oberlin Road Pediatrics. I called for my daughter's medical records and the story changed each time I called about getting them. First they said she was never a patient there. Then they said they found them. Then the woman who found them was gone the same week that Franklin County SS was at their training. Then when I call on the following Monday I'm told "I'm so sorry we burned them. That is what we do with our old records". But normally old records are shredded not burned. I needed those records because my daughter was abducted and forced drugged when she was in her teens against the wishes of her therapist at home. Lies were put on court papers with her therapist name and things her therapist did not say. Franklin County SS had my daughter tested years ago after she was forced on so much drugs she could barely walk down the hall. Franklin County clerks office pushed a dangerous drug on my daughter that nearly killed her over a year ago. They are saying my daughter had a developmental disability but my daughter had no developmental issues. Dr. Pugh was a good doctor but he is no longer at this practice. If he were still there I am sure things would have been handled differently. read more

I love oberlin road. Hours are reasonable, nurses get back to you promptly with help with issues, and the doctors and nurses are fantastic. Every time I've been with my daughter, reception has been great too. All in all, we feel very lucky to be at oberlin road. Dr. Vining certainly has a way with kids, and knows just how to make our little one feel secure, calm and acknowledged. read more

My son has been going to Oberlin Pediatrics since he was two days old. This practice came highly recommended by two fellow mommy friends and I can see why. They are so friendly and fantastic with families. Their hours are great and they even can see your child on the weekend if you are a current patient. We've even moved to the outskirts of Raleigh but continue to take our son here because of the care he receives and our satisfaction. We don't have one regular doctor that we always see but all the doctors we've had have been fantastic. You can request specific doctor if you find a favorite! read more

Great place and doctors if you are not a working parent and don't mind waiting 30-45 minutes past your child's appointment time to be seen.

Both of my boys are patients of Dr. Mack. I can not say enough great things about this doctor! She is amazing with my boys and really takes time with them. I would absolutely recommend this practice to other parents. read more

New doctor and great experiences all around!! So happy we found a doctor to take such great care of our sweet baby!

I've taken my children here for 18 years and have seen it's ups and downs. In 2015, I think the physicians and care are the best they have ever been, and I would recommend all the doctors. I especially think they are excellent treating adolescents, not just infants and children. Outstanding care! read more

Our 3 children have been going to Oberlin Pediatrics for many years now. We have been pretty happy with the service and with the quality of the Doctors there. One incident today made us decide to look elsewhere. A phone call with the office manager this morning revealed the lack of professionalism and a display of unpardonable sense of disrespect and immaturity of this office embodied by its head. We called the office to reschedule an appointment missed last week because of the snow (note that we called prior to the appointment to give notice). The office manager took the opportunity to remind us (harshly) that we also missed another appointment for our other child and that this was the last warning before we get dismissed as explained to us back in early 2013!!!! She did not show any desire to try to understand what and why it happened, in accordance with standard decent handling of patients (Clients I should say) especially that we were with them (3 children) for probably 10 years with a good track record. It just happens that we had several visits to their office in the last 2/3 weeks and got confused about this particular appointment. This was offending and my wife replied that she should dismiss us right away. Her reaction was to hang up on her!!! My wife called again immediately and asked to talk to her again. She came to the phone and when my wife asked why she hang up on her, she accused my wife that she was the one to hang up!!! Liar and irresponsible!! not even capable of assuming her actions. She expressed no rumor and did not even try to keep us. She rather cooperated to dismiss us swiftly as if we were not welcome in her office We're quite shocked that such a reputable office with very good doctors appoint such a person as office manager and spokesperson for the office. She clearly has no skills to deal with clients and has no work ethics to represent the office. read more

We choose Oberlin Road after attending four pediatric meet and greets. The doctors here made us feel comfortable and were a great resource. Dr. Mack was the rounds doctor after our daughter was born. She was amazing and made us feel at ease. Dr. Bodenstine was our doctor for the first three months. Our little one had some weight gain issues so we went in quite a bit in the first three weeks. During this time, I never felt pressured to give up breastfeeding or felt like I was doing something wrong. Dr. Bodenstine spent several minutes at each appointment asking how my husband and I were adjusting to parenthood (we are both in our late 30s, so it was a huge adjustment). For our little one's three month and four month appointment we saw Dr. Burleson due to scheduling issues with Dr. Bodenstine (mainly our scheduling issues). Dr. Burleson was great and when there were signs of post-partum depression, she took time to sit and talk with my husband and I. And she was amazing with our little one! We saw a total of three doctors and all were amazing. We trusted them completely. When we were planning on traveling via plane at eight weeks, they gave us tips and made sure we were able to come in for vaccines before we left. The only thing I wish they had was a lactation consultant affiliation. We moved out of state after my daughter's five month check up, and were truly saddened to leave the practice! When we chose Oberlin Road, we knew we chose a partner in raising our daughter. We never felt like a number or rushed through appointments. They took time to answer all of our questions. One of my favorite things is they did not charge for after hour phone calls like many other practices. They also have incredible after hours and early morning appointments. I cannot recommend this practice enough! read more

We could not be more pleased with the physicians and staff at Oberlin. Dr Wasserman is our primary and is amazingly sincere and knowledgeable with both our daughter and now our infant son. He has a wonderful way of keeping me sane with things that I would normally blow way out of proportion :-) but at the same time is always conscientious and caring about our children and overall family dynamics. We have had experiences with every physician in the practice and while they all have individual approaches, the quality of care is unsurpassed. read more

I do NOT recommend this practice at all. The average wait time is over 45 minutes and the doctors that I saw were not interested in my child's health at all. The first visit they misdiagnosed my child's ear infection which only made it worst and longer to heal. read more

We have been going to Oberlin road pediatrics for 3 years as well. I have three children. I have never been treated so poorly in my entire life. My father is a physician so I grew up in the medical field. Both my mother and father are shocked at the way I have been treated. The doctors have not only misdiagnosed my children and several of my friends children which led to more severe problems but the staff is rude and unprofessional. I have been repremanded for not calling prior to coming in during walkin hours. I have been threatened to be dismissed because I booked an appointment and then cancelled 10 minutes later. My husband has been accused of being "abusive" because he and I questioned the studies of vaccinations - and let me tell you my husband is in no way an aggressive man. There are too many great pediatric Ian's in Raleigh to settle for Oberlin rd. Don't take the chance with your children at this horrible place. read more
