This practice is Horrible. Multiple times I have brought my children here only to be told by the…read moredoctors that they don't know what's wrong with them, or there is nothing they can do to help them. Then at the end of the visit to be told that if it gets any worse make sure to bring them back in. The office staff is horrible and completely useless. No customer service experience or just basic human compassion. Multiple times when calling to schedule an appointment they have told us just to come in now, then when we get there with the sick kids they tell us that we are past the cut off time of walk in's and that we would have to schedule an appointment, or wait to be seen but they can't give us an estimated wait time. This used to be a good practice when Dr. Fore, and Dr. Nickaba were there. Such a shame that is has gone down hill this much!

We have so many bad experiences with this place it's hard to summarize in a review but I will start with 7 day wait on test results, misdiagnosis, 2+ hour wait times... I am currently waiting to see a doctor for my toddler and it's been 2.5 hours. Someone just came in and said I might want to call around to urgent cares because I may have better luck. Ugh. Update: the doctor came in after 2.5 hours. He took maybe 3 minutes examining child... didn't even look in mouth. Missed what was clearly hand foot mouth. What a mess!

We've been with Oberlin Road Pediatrics since we brought home our first child 16 years ago. The…read morelevel of CONSISTENT genuine care, connection and continually up-to-date medical advice has been such a blessing to our family. When I brought my first two-day old newborn in, Dr. Bo probably told me ten times, "You're doing a great job." The first time I raised concerns about vaccine schedules, I received a non-judgmental, thorough explanation with scientific research and data to help me understand the "why" of it all. When our son had severe and regular vomiting, Dr. Wasserman noted having just read up on cyclical vomiting as a neurological symptom, not GI. Our neurologist was amazed at this quick and accurate identification of a brain issue over a digestive one! When our daughter was 12 and wanted to chat Gilmore Girls, her new doctor raved about her favorite episodes with her. We can't say enough about our love for this consistent level of quality and caring medial expertise. Thank you for so many years of care, ORT! I'm so sad that my oldest will soon be aging out of your care!

Keep in mind the 1st MMR vaccine gets you 94% covered, when the 2nd MMR vaccine gets you 97% covered. Ultimately, they are sending us elsewhere because we do not see the benefit in getting another vaccine that will only provide an additional 3% of coverage for MMR. The doctors are choosing profit over actual care for their clients. Sad day in America when this is the standard of most doctors.

Just read about our very special doctor at Cary Pediatric Center and I had to share…read more Dr Mike Villareal saw our Piper years ago and immediately ordered an MRI after observation. She had a spinal problem and was immediately referred to Duke Children's Hospital. The following year she had fluid on the spine. The neurologist at Duke was amazing in both instances but had our pediatrician not detected a problem, she might not be walking. I saw that he recently pushed for a child to get an MRI when other doctors had not thought it was a big deal. The child had a brain tumor. He is an amazing pediatrician and I felt obligated to recommend him.

If you ever need sick apts I would go to another practice…read more My children have been going to Apex & Cary pediatrics since we moved here 10 years ago. My son has been sick once (enough to need an apt) & my daughter has never been to the doctor except well visits....until recently. My daughter 15y got a head cold a few weeks ago and we ran to fast med. In and out within an hour. Well she needed an apt last week bc her ear has been hurting off and on and we wanted to have it checked out. I call Cary Pediatrics at 8:45am 11.10.22 and they tell me they are completely booked up for the day. Okay, how about tomorrow? "No we do not 'pre-book' sick appointments". I am shocked! Again I've needed them 2 times in a decade so I don't understand not checking the schedule for tomorrow. "You can only pre-book well appointments". Okay, how about walk-in? "Our walk-in ends at 8:50am". I reply, so I can't make an appointment for tomorrow, I can't come in today and your walk-in is only open from 8am-8:50am. "Yes, call back tomorrow at 8am". I say, maybe I need to find a new practice. "Okay have a good day" and she hangs up! No offer to check other offices. I would have gone to Apex, even Fuquay. Nope, nothing! So I called JM&A was seen that day and had a great experience! Oh and they checked all of their locations! They didn't have an appointment at the closest location but they checked them all. I had to drive an extra 5 minutes which I was happy to do! Your receptionists are extremely important. I would have gone to Cary, Apex or even Fuquay-Varina. None of this was offered. She could care less that I said I will be leaving. So I left! I've had some great experiences with Cary & Apex and I've had some horrible experiences (when one of the doctors likened me putting a couple of ounces of 1/2&1/2 in my son's milk to help him meet his weight goals to child abuse...2oz of half and half is NOT child abuse and if it was joke it wasn't funny!!) even after that horrific experience I stayed (vowing never to see that doctor again). This receptionist experience, not taking sick apts over a 36-48hr hour period (since you only have 50min of walk-in clinic), not having walk-in hourS (walk-in minutes), not checking other locations ...well all of that was the last straw.

Since it's a partnership and they strategically leave a fair amount of time open for sick/last minute/new baby needs, we haven't had trouble getting an appointment at all yet. We've been very happy with the reception, billing, appointments, office layout, number of folks in the office at once (few), and most importantly the healthcare. We've seen some of the freshest doctors at the practice (in their career about 5 years) and we wouldn't have known it from their professionalism and expertise. Our little one, and us as needy we-dont-know-whats-going-on new parents, are in good hands here.
