These are totally average pretzels. You can buy the same thing at the grocery store.

I love the pretzels here. I have gone out of my way to order them and have them shipped home. Always a great crunch and always delish!

So I made my way to Torch & Crown Brewing Company to quench my thirst and check out more of the New York brewery scene. SPACE: I was really digging the vibes here. Torch & Crown Brewing Company is marked very subtle projecting sign. When you cross the threshold you are transported to an elevated space with a brick-clad back bar, warm moods, neon undertones, and pops of greenery. It was really inviting. SERVICE: I have to say the servers here really made my visit. They were super friendly and personable. I sat at the bar and they made sure my glass wasn't empty and made great conversation during my visit. SIPS: I love a crushable sour. So after browsing the menu, I knew that I had to give the Blueberry Pancake a whirl. Yum! It was bright, a little sweet, a little sour, and just what I needed. Next up I decided to sip on the Bat Flip, because with a name like "Bat Flip" I just have to know what it's all about. It was refreshing and bright! For those seeking a reprieve from the beer menu, Torch & Crown Brewing Company also offers up a full bar! SUSTENANCE: While I had already eaten before my visit, I took a moment to browse the food menu. Whoa! So many delicious options to sink your teeth into. Torch & Crown Brewing Company was a great way to both wrap up and wind down after my whirl wind day in the Big Apple.

We got our food and drink orders in quickly, ate, drank and hopefully did not piss off the staff. Beer selection is good, happy to have a lighter lager that stayed nice and cold. Was excited for the pork knuckle. It came out a little dry, and I suspect it was reheated via frying as it came out a little too dry and crispy but I get it. They're not making these to order. Party platter had a large selection of sausages, along with soft pretzels, meatballs and chips. If you have a group it's a decent order. Would come again for schnitzel and maybe give the pork knuckle another chance.

And boy, were we in for a pleasant surprise, as we truly enjoyed ourselves. No one does beer hall like a German place. This is just facts. We had the Berliner Weisse, which comes in a .5L or 1L boot (does German beer count if it's not in a boot?). This was a delicious raspberry syrupy undertone wheat beer, and definitely a must have for next time. Though there were like a dozen other beers I need to have. They also have a pretty extensive wine selection, if that's your thing. We were there for a brunch. When we arrived, before 1pm, it wasn't busy at all. By the time we left, it was pretty full. The bar had seats though. Anyhoo, I tried their "energizer" which were eggs any style (poached for me), creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Never had a breakfast like this one! It was almost like a deconstructed eggs Florentine. YUM. My husband had the Heidelberger which was a German style hamburger with frizzled onions and mashed potatoes. He let me try some, it was pretty fantastic so I may need to try it sometime myself. Also do not miss their ginormous Bavarian pretzel. It was quite possibly the best I've had (and I've had many!). The service was outstanding, and the vibe was ... I dunno a step above what you saw in Fast Times where they go to the German restaurant. My only regret is that I didn't get the apfelstrudel. Next time! Washrooms are single occupancy.

After visiting the German Consulate General, we were looking to celebrate new dual citizenship with authentic German cuisine. We came for midday lunch but ordered off the full menu rather than the lunch/brunch menu. My wife ordered the duck, I ordered the wienerschnitzel. The duck made my wife throw up two hours after ingesting it. My (albeit) medium-well schnitzel ordered came extra well-done, crispy both on the inside and out. The restaurant was dark and freezing. Workmen were bringing in wood materials from the back and the door was left open for the duration of the meal to accommodate the establishment and its workmen over the dining comfort of its patrons. We asked about the unendurable arctic environment and the genial young man seating us, serving us and also tripling as barman, returned to say there was nothing he could do. Well, there is something we will do. Never ever come back.

The hot toddy I got was pretty good and I liked the flavor. The ski shot which is 4 shots of $50 was overpriced in my opinion. Unfortunately the actual experience was soured by the fact that apparently it's $50 pp min if you reserve a table and then in the end they tried to charge us for people who didn't show up even though we did fill the table. I understand the policy and the manager was super nice to us and tried to rectify the situation but our waitress ended up being super rude in the end. They gave us a small discount but we ended up having to buy a lot of tickets to use in the future. Wasn't too happy about how things ended so would probably recommend that you go in the evening to avoid crowds if that's not your vibe and also do not book a table.
