BRAND NEW DRESS SHIRT RUINED!!!!…read more I brought in a brand dress shirt that I just got embroidered with my company logo for a simple laundry. I received my shirt back a few days later. I checked my shirt to make sure it was all good and the embroidery wasn't ruined before I left the store. To my surprise - my shirt was completely ruined (see image) they did not even say a word to me about it. I had to find out for myself. Luckily I inspected it right there in the store. I asked the employee there what happened to my shirt, she said she has no idea, she just works the counter and is not in charge of the cleaning. Ok fine. She said to leave it and she will contact the manager and they will call me back. 1 week later, no call back so I went back in. This time it was a guy (not the same girl who helped me before). I told him the situation and told him I never got a call from the manager. He said he doesn't know anything about it. I asked where my shirt was, he found it. Nothing was done to it. He then gave me a claim form to fill out. I returned it and he said I will get a call from the manager. Again, no call. Instead I received a refund check for less than the amount I paid. I went back in and asked why didn't I get a full reimbursement. He said they refund based on the shirt being second hand. I said, it's not 2nd hand, it was a brand new shirt. I literally cut the tags off of it when I dropped of my shirts initially. I have never worn it. He offered me a coupon for the difference. I said, why would I use a coupon to come back here after how this was handled. I am never coming back. Worse customer experience from a dry cleaner. They will do nothing to help resolve the matter. What's worse is I own the business next door to them! Being a business owner and handling customers all day long, I can assure you this is not how a small business should be treating their customers. I'm glad to drive to a different dry cleaner from now on. The convenience of them being next door is not worth it.

I also have my comforters and leather/pleather cleaned, and they deliver every time. The price and customer service are great. I no longer spend hours laundry, and it really helps in my relationship to have one less duty. I dry clean all clothing and it's worth every dime. They will even pick up and deliver if you request. They also do laundry and charge by the pound at a good price.

I let it…read moresit in my closet for a few months, so that just made me even more worried thinking that it'd be even harder to get it cleaned. I planned to wear it again for our religious wedding later in the year. I was referred here by a local bridal boutique as they take their dresses here too, so I felt I was in good hands. I was very protective of my dress as well. They did a phenomenal job cleaning my dress. It looked brand new! I was super impressed at how they got the train so clean, and I recommended VIP to everybody who was looking for a wedding dress cleaning. After our religious wedding, I knew I would be bringing my dress to them again for a cleaning. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of mentioning to them that I was planning to sell it after it was cleaned. I was disappointed that quality of the cleaning was not the same as the first time. I pointed out to the guy where there were still some stains on the train. There was a lot of blue lint pieces on the lace of my dress. I don't even have blue anywhere on my dress so not sure where that came from. It looked like maybe a blue sweater rubbed off on my dress. I picked off some blue pieces to show him and said, I'm going to have to pick all of this off the rest of the dress. The train wasn't as clean and the edges looked frilly. I asked how that happened? he said they had to take a brush and scrub, thus the edges frilled. Whoever cleaned it went to town on my dress w/that brush. The 1st time I got it cleaned, those same edges were also dirty but looked perfect and pristine. Not sure why this couldn't be replicated on same dress. Was it a different worker who worked on my dress this time? Also, the tulle on my dress was pinched and had creases everywhere. It was in various spots of the dress and pointed it out to the guy. I asked how that happened and he said that's just part of the cleaning. Well, it wasn't like that the first time! it's the SAME DRESS. and that part wasn't even dirty. I paid half when I dropped it off and would pay the rest at pick-up. I asked him if he could adjust the balance I owed because of these issues. He said he could only take off $10. I was not happy. He said they could re-clean it for me. But I don't trust them with my wedding dress anymore. The quality of the cleaning really disappointed me this time. It's a shame because now I'm going to have to lower the selling price on my dress for these issues, and will not recommend them. If you're planning to re-sell your wedding dress, just keep that to yourself.

Their alteration work is very good for what I needed. The price is reasonable and fair to my budget. Her son did all of the communication and measurements and helped me to make the best decisions regarding my suit (shirt, coat & pants). The final product was very clean and I received a lot of compliments during and after my daughter's wedding. I highly recommend Golden Thread Alterations to anyone who needs alteration work (for weddings, senior ball, celebrations, etc.).

My problem is with owners/employees who do not return a smile or meet my eye. Whether intended or not, this made me feel too unimportant to be bothered with, more like I was a pesky fly. To be clear, I have zero problem with business owners not speaking English, especially when a co-owner is fluent and handles communication. I am the grandchild of immigrants. I am also unhappy with a fluctuating price. Again, don't lower the price after I regretfully and politely decide to leave. Set a fair price to begin with, not a high price you then lower when a customer balks. Most of us are very uncomfortable about bargaining over price and discovering the first price given is a starting bid. Just sharing my opinion.
