Today is Martini flights @ Martini Room and I absolutely love this place highly recommended. I love hanging out with my friends at Martini room because it is so cozy & we love the customer service! read more

My future sister-in-law introduced my fiancé and I to this place for an evening of cocktails and I have to say, I was so tremendously impressed. Literally everything we drank was delicious. Our waiter had a cast on his foot, but was still very attentive and he was fun to talk to. I was really impressed with his service. I asked him I wanted an Old Fashioned and he directed me to a contest menu where each of the bartenders created their own take on the classic Old Fashioned. I tried his version and was very impressed with its crisp and clean flavor. This contest is a testament to the staff's eagerness to mix up new takes on classic drinks. I respect the art and craft involved. The ambiance was perfect. Chill and classy. This place is definitely a hidden gem; tucked away as it is in Elgin, IL. I would hate for people to miss out on it. I think if you are in the Chicagoland area the "Martini Room" is worth going out of your way for. read more

Great place for parties....I've had 3 parties myself and have attended several....all were great thanks to the staff and owners. Always user friendly and accommodating, they really care. Great drink specials...however top shelf drinks are a little high. I especially like the Art nights....showcasing various artists of different medias..... They are constantly trying new things to make the place exciting... Good place to go after work if you are tired of the usual shot and beer joints and pubs that are so previlent in Elgin...a little classy atmosphere is well appreciated. If you aren't a martini drinker and don't know what to order ask the bartenders...they always come up with interesting, tasty drinks( Oscar Night they made Quentin Tomatino drinks with jalipino olives and onions that were awesome)...not to mention their wide assortment of bottled beer....always ice cold... I love this place read more

This place is a unique place in the Chicago suburbs! It has such a city vibe where you can't around here unless you drive into the city. My husband and I loved the fact that we were able to order from a menu that was not 90% beer/wine (more specifically fruity drinks). A nice place to chill and chat with friends, though it is a bit on the louder side. Only thing that this place is a bit far from us, but we'll definitely be back to try a lot of other drinks! read more

Fantastic experience! The venue has a very eclectic feel, with local artists work and a great variety of martinis to choose from. Enjoyed every moment of the visit, and conversation with the bartender and bar back was delightful. read more

I give this four stars cause I wish it was a little bit bigger. Otherwise it's such a cute and intimate spot to grab a couple drinks. The drinks are all reasonable too. The menu is filled with different tasty items that it makes it hard to choose sometimes. My favorite was the mermaid still and the dreamsicle one too. I'll be coming back often! read more

I soo badly wanted to like Martini Room, but I have had a couple bad experiences there. The place looked okay from the outsideand sounded fun, but anytime I told someone I wanted to try it they warned me against going. I can understand why a little better now. One thing I do like is the design of the bar. It is pretty roomy with a special cushioned seating area in the back (by where the dj is). The giant tile art is beautiful, and the fact that they have local artwork for sale scattered on the walls is amazing -and what Elgin is all about. We had one decent experience, with a pretty cool server who wasn't extremely attentive. It was pretty dead though all night.. and it was the weekend. Made me think for a second, "Why is nobody here?". We ordered a couple of drinks that were pretty pricey. The taste was just okay. Nothing that made me want another. The second time we went.. not so good. I was beginning to wonder how if our server was joining in on the drinking. The drinks just aren't worth the price tag. They are standard. I expected more because this is one of a few -main downtown area- bars in Elgin. That feeling you get when you have a bad experience and you know you should give the place another try, but you just know that place is not going to magically get much better.. Well I ignored that gut instinct and went back a couple of times. Never met my expectations, just a disappointment. I won a $10 certificate for Martini Room and now I don't know what I'm going to do with it, because I really don't believe it'll get any better. read more

Stopped by and tried a martini sampler with different halloween themed martinis. The cocktails looked fun and tasted great. Great customer service and very friendly staff. Its a fun place to drink a couple cocktails and chat with friends. Laid back, cool atmosphere and plenty of seating options. read more

Too expensive for regular drinks and a rough vibe and there is other charges that I'm not aware on the bill

I would be in tons of trouble if this place was closer to me. I initially went on a flight night, because I love flights, but those did not do as much for me in the amount of alcohol department. I tend to be a lightweight, so when I didn't even feel buzzed after finishing the flight I was a little confused. But then my friend and I got two more martinis each, and that was where it was at! My favorite one was some candy bar. Snickers maybe? The menu is SO LONG it's hard to choose (hence why you end up getting so many). I really liked the chill atmosphere, and was surprised they weren't busier. I'm planning to go back at some point to try another couple different ones. read more

Heading home from cubs vs Sox game on a Saturday night around 10pm. Sat at a table and waited for a good 15 minutes, no service. Finally husband ordered our drinks at the bar, they were ok. Two guys walk in to table next to us and waitress attends them right away. We left right after that. read more

**Update** Thank you Ursula for the comment and refund. As mentioned the drinks were real good, and like the selection to choose from. This is a nice place to go for a drink and chat and enjoy the local artwork that is often on display. Although the bill situation was not handled well at the time by the bartender, I appreciate the managers response and resolution to the situation. Updating rating from a 1 to 3 overall for this specific visit, and willing to give it another shot next time I am in that area. read more

This place has potential. HOWEVER... The martinis are very small. Tasty, just small, so I needed a minimum of 3 to feel any buzz. At at least $9 each plus juke box money, this adds up. They are a bit overly sweet for me too so after 2 I just of these I just switched to the strong old man kind. Second- the music (or lack thereof). There was lame, quiet jazz music playing so I HAD to liven up the place by playing songs that were 50 cents to a dollar each. Without lively music, my night is just sleepy. I cannot understand why so many establishments play such quiet and bad music!!! Then this place was a bit too dark if you can believe it. Couldn't even check myself out in the mirror in the bathroom hall. The disco ball was cool though. Again, it had potential but I don't see myself returning. My husband's martinis are just too good and this place DOES NOT COMPETE. read more

We have been here twice in the last 2 years. We went back because our first experience was enjoyable. The atmosphere here is wonderful. The art on that is display, which is for sale, adds a little flare to what could be a very dull wall. The service was quick and friendly. read more

I enjoy the martini room because it is different! Good drinks expescially the Local Harvest the best drink I've tryed in town. It is made with American Harvest Vodka the best Vodka I have ever tryed! I enjoyed the conversation with Urszula the owner over a Local Harvest drink. Thank God there is a bar like this in Elgin IL read more

Great drinks and atmosphere with people from the city and suburbs enjoying awesome martinis! Loved the jalapeño mangorita martini and the blueberry martini. It's really a gem of Elgin and love coming here when I'm in the burbs. read more

There is only one word to describe Martini Room in downtown Elgin, and that word is swanky! Comfy couches, fantastic drinks, great staff, the ambiance is awesome! It is a great place to have an intimate setting for a night out with a small group of friends or significant other! You can find art from local artists displayed throughout the establishment; on any given weekend you can catch an intimate performance by some of the areas wonderful musicians. I've honestly never spoken with anyone who left Martini Room after their first visit not saying, "who knew this kind of place even existed in Elgin...can't wait to go back!" read more

ASK THE PRICE FOR YOUR DRINK BEFORE ORDERING! As I was getting ready to cash out I thought there must've been a mistake as my Stoli Straight up martini was 21$! I asked the bartender... "Did I really just order a 21$ drink?" He replied "yeah, that's why I don't really like working at this place." Glad I only had one. Then he went on about how the owners didn't let him void anything off and that I was stuck with the bill. He did try to make things right by offering some gift certificates which I declined after saying that "I am never coming back." Decent atmosphere but the sound system is pretty bad. Also, the place was absolutely dead on a Saturday night.... read more

I had a great experience here! I came here last night with a group of three other people, and we sat at the bar. It wasn't particularly busy, but that was better for us because we got exceptional service. Although I think the bartender, RJ, would have been amazing no matter what. He was quick with his suggestions AND his service. We tried SO many of the martinis: Dreamsicle: A-MA-ZING. Oh my gosh, you NEED to order this. Hands down the best martini we tried there and that I have had anywhere!! Mangotini: Fantastic as well, and it is the special of the month--I had two! It went down way too easily! Star Burst: Delicious as well! Passionista: Not my cup of tea. It was ok, but my friend finished it for me. I think there might have been one more, but I can't remember...the martinis were that good ;) Thanks for a great time, RJ!! read more

Too many good things to say about the Martini Room! Great staff. Great atmosphere. Always something going on on the weekends and a great place to relax and unwind during the week. Not to mention the great martinis! They beer and wine too! A great mix of clientele. Everyone is friendly! read more

For a new guy in Elgin I think martini room is a great place to drink bartender made the best white gummy bear. Music was a little to loud but what ever. The place ain't small there big sofa. Thank you. For a good night and for haveing miller lite read more

Been here numerous times, for parties to art shows, this place is a diamond in the rough! Great martini's, fantastic selection. Lofty feel with great artistic vibe. Perfect for going out dancing and lounging without all the drunk 21 year olds grinding on each other...this is a grown folks kinda place! read more

One night I decided, why not try something different and head out to Elgin to this martini bar I've been hearing about? I expected the crowd to be a little bit older, maybe a little bit more upscale atmosphere...I was wrong. This place has a pretty nice martini list, but it is not at all classy. The music was decent but it's pretty small so it was kind of overwhelming. I was a little put off by the crowd just because I expected a more refined atmosphere. I haven't been back and am not sure if I ever will return. Just not really worth it. read more

I really liked this place. My girlfriends and I popped in there last friday night for some drinking fun. It was a great time. Our server was super sweet and attentive and the drinks were really great. I don't have a whole lot of experience drinking at bars (I recently turned 21), but I really liked this place anyway. They had the back of the place saved for a cute birthday party. We took our seats in these great low couches with pillows and enjoyed our drinks. It was pretty quiet when we first got there, which we appreciated, but by the end of the night, there was a good crowd going. I would recommend trying it out. I had the mojito martini first, which was divine. I would also recommend the single lady shots. Yum. We licked the shot glasses. read more

Fabulous atmosphere, artwork & drink specials are always changing! A variety of music and friendly, relaxed environment.

I never really knew about this place, it has some really nice interiors and some of the drinks really looked good and cool. We had gone here, pretty much during closing time, but it is open till 3 am on Saturdays, last order is at 2:30 am. I think Hookah is also available, because I did see some on the far side of the club. I will probably be back to this place if I get an another opportunity. read more

Great little martini lounge near downtown Elgin. The owner, Ula, is very sweet. I've always had good, attentive bartenders. They have a comfy couch area. Large, well poured martinis. Lots of delicious options. The caramel apple martini was amazeballs. It's my new go-to when I'm up in that area after work! read more

I love the Martini Room and so glad it is here in Elgin! I try to get there at least once a month to order the Martini flight while I catch up with a girlfriend. The last time I went for a couple drinks with my husband, I ordered the winning Smoking Gun. I couldn't believe the creativity that went into this martini! The burning of the rosemary is just perfect. The taste is not overpowering within the martini, there is a hint. Soooooo good! Don't forget about the music on Friday nights. That's when I get a chance to go. The music is the perfect mix of cool, sexy and then hot and energetic. Gotta tell ya: vodka, music and creativity? Totally worth it! read more

Fun. Unique. Interesting. Located in downtown Elgin. Old bar. Tin ceiling. Great drinks. Friendly atmosphere. I recommend this place

I recently visited this place after a few year hiatus and was very disappointed. I have had a good time at this place in the past, but this time a female bartender was rude and unwelcoming to my wife and I. The place wasn't even busy; she was just rude to be rude. It was the first time in my life (and I'm close to 40) that I didn't even bother leaving a dollar for a tip. read more

Went here on a Friday night. This place was dead. Service was terrible. Had one drink and then sat there waiting for the waitress to come back for about 15 minutes before we left. There was no reason for such bad service because, as I mentioned, this place was dead. Maybe 10 other people in the bar and 3 waitresses total. When we left we also got attitude for mentioning that the waitress never came back to our table. We probably would have stayed and spent more money here, but not after being ignored. Never going here again. read more

Martini Room is my absolute favorite place to go with my friends. I love that it isn't loud booming music all the time and that they will have theme nights every once in awhile. I can go out and enjoy amazing drinks that are decently priced for what we are getting, with friends and we can sit and talk in a private quiet setting and don't have to scream over loud music. The servers and bartenders are always so nice and attentive and will help you find a drink that you would like. I don't think I have ever had a bad experience here. I recommend it to all of my friends. read more

Great ambience, attentive staff... and FANTASTIC martinis! If you like spicy, don't miss the Picante... an artful blend of mildly sweet, jalapeno kick, and a touch of cilantro. Yum. read more

This place is pretty cool... locally owned and drinks are awesome. Ursala the owner was friendly and chatted with us for some time. Liz and Amy were excellent bartenders and very knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is great at this place very laid back. Iam looking forward to making this my go to spot when working in the area. read more

Awesome vibe, excellent drinks & the best service in town! Highly recommend to people not looking for the typical "bar".

Love this place! I live in the neighborhood and always enjoy a night over to the Martini Room. The drinks are a little pricy, yes, but SO tasty. I love the frequent change of artwork they have hanging up by local artists, and the event nights, like Prohibition Night are AMAZING. They have great deals throughout the week, and have created such a swanky, sexy, vintage environment. Love the couches and the table-service. Great group! read more

Nice vibe. I like that they played old school music. Martinis were yummy. Good date night spot especially if you are in Elgin and not trying to go far. read more

Wonderful staff. Award winning Martinis. Amazing ambiance. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome set up. I really like the decor and the music they played. This only big issue I had with this place is the service. It takes a good 15 minutes to get a beer from your server.I thought maybe it got really busy at first or she forgot the first time, but it happened when I ordered the second one too. I will definitely be giving this place another shot though. They had a huge list of different martini's and a decent amount of other drinks to choose from. Seating was comfortable and the artwork everywhere is great. Hoping the nest time I go the service is better, so I can give more stars! read more

Cool looking bar and definitely a fun place to hang out. It's interesting to see the crowd change as the night goes on... One of the bartenders looked like she was drunk and I saw her pounding down a beer, but it made for a funny conversation. read more
