What happens when it's your husband's best friends birthday, and they spent the day drinking beers and doing shots? Then his wife wants to walk downtown for dinner, but on that walk realized that her husband was incredibly drunk. Embarrassingly drunk that is. Once at the restaurant you also realize that he is also to drunk to eat his food and then he proceeds to pass out in his chair. My husband fails to realize that his friends are not all giants like him and they can't handle the copious amounts of booze that he can. My friend had the restaurant call us a cab. It was there in 2 minutes flat. The ride home was eventful to say the least. We told the driver it was drunky boy's birthday and he laughed. Our drunk friend said " I thought I was old yesterday." Then the driver said, " I thought I was old 10 minutes before I picked you guys up." Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would take a cab for a mile from downtown Martinez to my house. My daughter had a wedding in Benicia over the weekend and many of the guests were staying in hotels and didn't want to drive. I called Mohammed in advance and he agreed to be there to shuttle guests to and from the wedding, started at 3:00 for arrival of the bridal party, 4:30 for arrival of all the guests, and 10:00 for when the wedding ended. My daughter and I forwarded the number for Martinez Taxi to the guests who needed rides, but many ended up using Lyft or Uber, and Mohammed did not have as much business and I thought he would. I told Mohammed I wanted to pay him for his time, but he wouldn't take the money. He is a wonderfully kind man! read more

I use these guys alot. When they're available, they come as planned, and as expected. Spotty is the BEST word I can use, and that's being very generous. I think my past relationship with this Co was based on extremely nice drivers - who I guess now are not currently involved with Martinez Cab? I'm not sure... But I can report that their recent service has completely sucked. They seem to never be able to make it out, even though I am a repeat customer who tipped very generously. Now, they seem to never have service available. All of my exchanges with them have always been extremely pleasant and very respectful. Tonight I used a different Cab co (try calling 825-9292), and had a VERY good experience, and they were tipped accordingly, as always, as I appreciate good service. It seems to be hit & miss with Taxi's around here, maybe due to the personnel moving around? Very reliable. I was able to make an arrangement to take me from the Martinez train station to my hotel in Vallejo. The dispatcher was kind and made sure there was someone to pick me up from the station so that I did not have to wait at all. Driver was very friendly. We took the train into Martinez. Got loaded at Barrel Aged. They called these guys for us and he came and picked the six of us up, drove us to Port Costa, and all for under $30. Next morning, we called, and he came right back and grabbed us again. Back to Martinez for our train home. Again, under $30. Great guy, even if he did like taking the inside (wrong side) corner on several blind corners on Mc Ewen (aka Snake road) which definitely contributed to the pucker factor. I requested a reservation for a very early flight to the Oakland Airport and the owner of this company helped me determine the time that I would need to be picked up. He is very kind and professional as is the staff that I spoke with. My son and I waited at the Contra Costa Reginal Hospital for an hour and ten minutes to get a ride down to Amtrak on Thursday afternoon. I have had nothing but good experiences with Martinez Taxi. Mohamed is the owner and extremely courteous and nice. I travel a lot on business and take Bart to and from SFO. Mohamed gets me to BART on time and keeps me on schedule. I understand he has limos too and does wine tours and airport runs but I have not used Martinez Taxi for that yet. My mother and I were coming in to the Martinez Amtrak station from a weekend trip to Sacramento and needed to get home to Walnut Creek. I called ahead and they assured me they would have someone there to meet us. They went beyond that and called me before we even reached the station to let me know they were there and waiting. Muhammad came to get me when I missed a late night bus and needed a taxi to catch an Amtrak train. He arrived within 15 minutes of my call and got me to the train station well ahead of schedule. He spoke with me with kindness and honesty, knew the area very well, took me to an ATM a block away when I didn't have the cash I needed on hand, and most importantly dealt with me as a very honorable businessman: no tricks. I had a very good experience with this company. Our car overheated and got toasted on the Martinez bridge and what with having to deal with all that (with four kids!) and getting the car towed, etc, it was nice not to have to worry about the taxi service. I called and it seemed like our ride was instantly there. The woman who drove us all the way to Santa Cruz was very nice, personable, and professional. The only thing hindering a 5 star review instead of 4 is that it is cash only. As long as you know that ahead of time and are prepared it should be no big deal, but finding the ATM machine at some point can be a detractor. Luckily ours was right on the way to our house. This is the taxi company that everyone in this area should use. Muhammad is the driver to go to. I made an appointment the day before. Muhammad arrived right on time! Once he arrived, I had one more thing I had to do around the house, and he waited until I was finished. He waited for 10 minutes while I finished up, and he didn't even charge me extra. On the drive to my destination, Muhammad went out of his way to talk to me, and see how I was doing. I appreciate that he did this because it made the ride more enjoyable, and it felt like I was being driven by a friend not a taxi! Once we arrived at the destination, he waited to make sure that it was the right place, and that the place was open. My husband and I use taxis a lot and then we used this company not only are they over charging by double what other taxis cost but they charge for rate 3 which is illegal in martinez and concord area. Plus he had an 18 year old driver which meant there insurance wouldn't cover us if they got in a wreck the driver legally has to be 25 I was furious to find this out that he put me and my kids in danger. I would highly be weary of housing them they are crooks. read more

I needed a ride from Martinez to the nearest BART station. I got a real person immediately on the phone and arranged an early morning pick up the next day. The taxi was on-time, the driver was extremely courteous and friendly. As I returned on BART I called for a return ride and was going to allow 30 minutes so that the driver didn't need to wait. He knew the schedule so well he set a shorter time and was there waiting for me. I've traveled a lot and used many services. This is one of the best. I would sleep well the night before an early morning pick up for an extremely important flight, knowing that Martinez Taxi would be there as promised and get me to my flight on time. read more

Never ever call this taxi!!!! I had never caught a cab in Martinez before but I caught the train there on business and needed a cab from the train station. This one was first on the list. I called while I was still on the train and they said a cab was already there waiting. I was, at first, relieved until I got in the cab and the lady driver said. Its gonna be a $10 minimum...what!!! Im thinking "I guess this is how Martinez rolls. I was an hour early so I asked the driver to refer me to a nice diner. She took me around the corner!! I literally could have walked!! So I asked my waitress "Do all the taxis here in Martinez charge a minimum fee to ride. She said no i've never heard that. So I called around myself and got an honest cab service. A O Taxi.
