I called these cretins only after I was told by Yellow Cab that they had no drivers in the area and wouldn't for 2 hours. I told AA that I was in need of a round trip ride from my house to a local store that via Yellow Cab or one of the other local services usually costs me #15 round trip, including the tip. Their cab arrives fifteen minutes late, then has the guts, gall and the gumption to want to charge me $30 for the same trip. I told him, "No, I'll go to another store." This store is about 1/2 the distance of the other store and I usually pay $8 round trip for that. He wanted $20! Because I was in dire need of a ride, I couldn't very well cancel out, but I would've if it came down to that. He began to cry poor mouth: "I had to come from Bay Point (5 miles away) on a Friday from the BART station, so I am missing out on money." If that was the case, why didn't he keep his goony a-- there? We finally "settled" on $25 to the original site, and that was after I told him I needed to get there to cash a check--and he wasn't about to let me out of the cab without giving him something. The kicker is, he never turned on the meter, otherwise I would have had proof positive he was getting over like a fat rat in a cheese factory. I said all that to point out this: I wouldn't ride with these shady bastards again at gun point. Beware if those who charge "flat fees" in lieu of turning on the meter.

I tried to get an Uber, but they didn't have any cars at all in the area..... so we found AA Taxi Cab and made a call. The driver from AA Cab showed up exactly when he said he'd be there, and got us home in great time. He was courteous and pleasant, and it was a great ride. My compliments on good service. No, it wasn't the cheapest ride -- but it was worth the fare. If we're in that area and ever need a cab again, we know who to call. And they do accept credit cards. Called ahead to set everything up, gave them my pickup time, and when I checked in a few days before the trip out of pure travel anxiety, they had me down for the exact time I'd given them. Driver showed up right on the dot. The vehicle was a big clean SUV, plenty of room for luggage, and the ride to the airport was smooth and safe the whole way. Got dropped off right at the door we needed, which matters when you're pulling bags out at a busy terminal. The part I appreciated most was the billing. They invoiced me after the trip, so there was no scrambling for a card or working out a tip with the driver in the moment. Zero hassle on departure day, which was the whole point. If you want a calm start to a trip and not a coin flip on whether your ride shows up, book these guys. Worth it.

After Google Maps showed no public transportation was available in the area, I accepted my fate and took a cab when I got off Pittsburg/Bay Point BART at 8 a.m. The driver's name was Rafael and was very professional and courteous. I was a little nervous about the training and was playing different scenarios inside my head, so I was grateful that Rafael did not try to engage me in any unnecessary conversation. I took his card and ended up calling him when I left the facility. On our way back he even turned off the meter as we exited the highway, a full minute before we arrived at the BART station. Very good service that merits recognition.

The man asked for my address and told me he knew where that was. The next morning no one was at my house at 7, 7:10. . . I called to ask where they were and the man said he called me a couple of times. I didn't have any record of that on my phone and I had been holding my phone the whole time waiting. He said he was at the Safeway and to tell him how to get to my house. Finally he showed up at 7:30. He showed up in an unmarked car that had no meter in it. He had already quoted me $30 for a ride from Hillcrest to Bay Point BART. He had no credit card machine either. We got to BART and I asked if the fare was discounted because he was late and I had missed the BART train. He said no. I asked if he took a credit card. He said no, he didn't have a machine.
