Let's start off with saying I would absolutely hire Carlos again and am already recommending him to our friends. A friend had some work done by Carlos recently and recommended him to me. Carlos arrived the same day I called to take a look at the job and provided a written quote very quickly. We were happy with his quote and I let him know we wanted to move forward with him. He and his crew showed up on time and were friendly and respectful throughout the job. They even took care of a couple of other things for me like moving three granite boulders that were a lot heavier than I thought. All of the guys that worked on our job were so nice but were also here to get the job done. They widened my driveway, extended the RV pad, and added a couple small pads in the backyard. They poured concrete on the 3rd day and it looks great. They also treated the finish to look similar to what was already in place (salt finish by pool and broom finish on driveway and RV pad). Not sure where to begin. Communication was spotty. Sometimes I'd get a quick response, sometimes I didn't. Had multiple delays but I was ok with that, I wasn't in a rush to get my concrete poured. Finally got my date to start and the guys showed up on time. Everything went smooth until they left. I realized they left nails from the forms everywhere in the dirt and grass. They used my wheelbarrow and shovel without asking then didn't return it to where I store my tools, they just left them in the yard. They used my water hoses and didn't put them back. I had to pickup empty water bottles. They seriously just left everything in my yard a complete mess. As you can see, the edges on my walkway look horrible. Just horrible work. Extremely unhappy. Would never use again. He did a small job for us and was very good in terms of customer service at that time. Later the concrete never cured correctly and left with wet spots. The work turned out better than we had expected. We had been looking for a while on getting cement work in the back and both sides of the house but we noticed that most businesses changed their pricing drastically when they realized the amount of work and dirt that had to be removed. Martinez Concrete took the extra steps to remove the dirt and prep the area that needed to be cemented at a reasonable price. Carlos also ensured that the rain water would run away from the foundation of the house and towards the drains, which was a problem that we previously had.
