I could not be sure if the documents are exactly what I wanted. I was very pleased with the service I received, specifically from William. He was polite, very responsive, helpful and patient with me. (He was probably biting his tongue to not say something hurtful or rude). Anyway, my effort in going there was so worth it. I should have experimented more in navigating their computer instead of getting frustrated. Now I know the quickest way to find specific documents in their database and get hard copies. I didn't even have to sit in the waiting area because they took me right in. Although I heard you could do your TWIC and TSA Precheck enrollments at the same time, I made two separate appointments 30 mins apart just to cover all of my bases. They were able to complete both appointments in one sitting. I received my TWIC and TSA Precheck in the mail about 2 weeks later! I had a fantastic experience, and felt like I needed to share after seeing the bad reviews on this Yelp page.

Then she hung up in my face again and I ended up speaking to another older man who was just as rude and bothered that he had to do his job. He asked why I was calling and in the middle of me explaining he started loudly talking over me and I had to scream at him to get him to stop! It was insane! They also lied about sending me a letter that I never received and said if the post office lost it or put it in the wrong mailbox then oh well it's not their fault it's my fault. Everyone in this office needs to be fired but it sounds like they are either close to retiring or ending their jobs anyways! Oh yeah they also said they had no manager when I first asked and when I questioned this they changed their mind and said oh actually we do but they aren't here. Refused to give me their managers office number too, like I won't physically go down to their office myself. It's sad that nothing will be done about this and all the upset reviews and clients that have been complaining for years will never receive any justice or apology. If you hate your job, leave. Don't take it out on everyone else.

When you get there the loud speaker announcement states they have appointments available within 5 days. I almost laughed because it's wildly inaccurate. I'd booked an appointment a few days before for the first one available - almost 3 weeks out. Even if you go by business days, it's not close to being accurate. Currently they'll let you sign in, get a number, wait for 30 minutes, then call your number, and at your window you'll be told to make an appointment and they'll refuse to help you further. It's absolutely bonkers and I've never seen anything like it. After I was told I could wait an additional 3-4 hours for the possibility of speaking with someone, I asked if like the DMV they could text me when someone can speak with me. No. No, they don't do that either. I left. I will say I ended up googling and found a great thread that talked about the different processes people have used to get into their non-working SSA accounts. I tried a few of them and was finally able to log in via IDme on an incognito window so I could download a statement of my account, which solved about half of what I needed. Overall, it was a pretty awful and extremely inefficient experience all around. Definitely would not recommend.

But I made my way to the second floor and see the door for vital records. The door was closed, but the sign says to come in. The waiting room is very small with about 5 chairs. The person at the window was very helpful, took my request, accepted my payment, and came out a few minutes later with the documents. Everything took about 10 minutes in and out. They are located in Martinez, across the street from some condos. There's a parking lot, and the place reminds me of the DMV but less cars and people. Overall, a quick and easy experience.

Unless you are volunteering in the library, visiting family members incarcerated, or have legal business, you won't get in! Located right near a lot of other county offices (not "off the beaten path!), it is easy to find, and in all the time I volunteered in their library I never had a problem parking. Of course it was "neat and tidy," like a "business office!" It is clean, well run. The youth are fortunate to have a library with a librarian, as most Juvenile facilities do not. (That is why I give it a 5) When there are volunteers (hint, hint!) the can have access to the Internet for research for when they get out, on colleges, etc. If you have children sent here, be reassured. The employees I was in contact with were kind and understanding. The kids even attend school.
