I was told that I would receive a call back very soon. Nothing. I continued calling each day for four consecutive days and was told the same thing. On the fourth day, I was told, "The nurse called, and your wife answered, and she gave your wife the report." The problem is I'm a single man and have no wife. I told her that, and like magic, I had a nurse on the phone. She said "I called and gave your report to your wife, but she sounded confused." I said, "Well, of course she was, because I have no wife." The nurse had dialed a wrong number and given my MRI report to a total stranger without verifying who this person was in any way. I had to remind her to, please give it to me now. This violates every standard of HIPAA, the patients' right to the privacy of their medical information. This facility is open to a lawsuit, and I really should sue them, but I don't need the baggage in my life. I would recommend that no one ever go here; there are far better ones in town, and they are far quicker to access with an appointment, and will respect the privacy of your medical information. It took fourteen days to get my results finally, but I had a bill in the mail within seven days. That demonstrates where their priorities are.

I don't know what it is with the customer service staff there. They have a real attitude (Maybe they're from New York?), don't care about doing their job and on top of it, and judging by their attitude and facial expressions, clearly hate their jobs. Every time I've ever been there, the staff act like you're lucky that they even bother with you. Personally, I would fire all of the staff at the front window. TERRIBLE attitude. Even if you have an appointment, be prepared to wait for sometimes hours to be seen. Maybe they double book appointments? I've been going there for several years but won't be back. I'll find another group to see. At this point, I don't care if I have to drive to Lubbock to be seen.

Long story short, Dr. Soya fired my dad as a patient and lied to me over the phone…read more My father has been seeing Dr. Soya for several years. He has always done what Dr. Soya instructed. My dad had confidence in Dr. Soya. He would listen to him as a patient and would explain things well. My dad needed back surgery after many failed outpatient treatments but his surgeon wanted him off of plavix for nine days. Dr. Soyas office would not approve anything longer than five days. So I wrote an email to both the surgeons office and Dr. Soyas office requesting them to communicate with each other and to come up with an appropriate plan on the length of time off of the plavix that would be safe. I was not expecting to hear anything back. The surgery date came and went and had to be canceled. Two weeks later on a Monday, I got a phone call from Dr. Soya on my cell phone. He was very kind and compassionate. He understood my fathers back pain and explained that his own dad was a construction worker. He told me to have my dad make an appointment this coming Thursday or Friday and he would approve him to be off of the plavix for surgery, that my dad would just have to sign a consent acknowledging the risks. Dr. Soya explained that the risks would be extremely low, less than 1%. The next day, Tuesday, my dad called to make an appointment like Dr. Soya told him to. He was sent to voicemail and left a message. He didn't hear anything back so late Wednesday I called to schedule him an appointment and explained to the office staff what Dr. Soya had told me. The staff was extremely rude and with a raised voice and tone, said Dr. Soya cannot just tell patients when he will see them. I explained that due to the surgery date passing, any day in the next few weeks would work for an appointment. I was sent to voicemail and I explained on the message what Dr. Soya had told me. Friday, we never heard anything back. So I called one last time. I was transferred several times and then spoke to someone. I was told that my dad would have to make an appointment at a different cardiology group that he would not be allowed to see Dr. Soya or any of his partners. I asked why, and was told that a certified letter was on the way explaining why. Sure enough, the following week my dad received the letter saying that he had been fired as a patient due to inappropriate behavior and unrealistic expectations. My dad and I were never rude and absolutely never had any inappropriate behavior. I am truly saddened by this whole experience. As a healthcare worker I have always loved Dr. Soya and had confidence in him as a provider. But I have never seen this side. I will never recommend anyone I know to go to Amarillo Heart Institute again. After reading many reviews on Google, there are similar stories by other patients.

If she is not running a fever, the nurse discourage me from bringing her in. Twice I have had to request an appointment against the wishes advice of the nurse. Both times Dr Walsh has examined her an explained that she was a very sick baby. Additionally, the appointments are scheduled early in the morning. I drive 90 miles because my town does not have a pediatrician. That doesn't matter to the office staff. I am expected to be at their office, usually within 2 hours of my call. So, I have learned to get in the car and start driving, then hope that there is an available appointment. Then, when I arrive I always have at least a 30 minute wait after my schedule d appointment. My time is not respected. However, I called in because I was stuck on the 2 lane highway behind slow moving traffic. I explained that I would be late. I was told not to be more than 15 minutes late. I arrived at exactly 15 minutes after my appointment, and my appointment was cancelled. The office staff on the phone was rude and inconsiderate when I called, and were rude and inconsiderate when I arrived. I have tried twice to change pediatricians because of this. Both times I was rejected by the new doctors because they were in the same medical group. Dr Walsh will give you a very good five minutes of time with your sick child, but is it worth it?
