Post op 7 months now…read more I had been trying to establish post op care with a in network bariatric surgeon but it was such a big headache. I asked to get my labs checked and they couldn't even get that right. I reached out to Dr. Doraiswamy after 3 failed attempts. I explained the situation and he quickly got back to me to say not to worry, he will order labs and schedule a phone follow up to review labs. Same day, I got my telehealth appointment scheduled and labs emailed. I went to quest that weekend and got the done in preparation for my call the next week after Easter. Dr. D asked how I have been doing and reviewed the labs. B was a bit high so he recommended reducing to every other day. Vitamin A low but may choose to supplement in diet or via over the counter vitamin. We set some achievable goals with bumping up my exercise to focus on type and duration. I have another follow up call in 4 months. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. D. I am doing well 7 months post op/45 lbs down. Eating has normalized (my new norm). Occasional nausea which he explained to avoid drinking with meals. This will cause that weird funnel overflowing effect which will cause nausea. No other side effects that I have noted. This has been a very comfortable journey thus far. He has been a stellar surgeon before and after surgery. I am so happy I can still follow up with him throughout my journey to a healthier me. If you are contemplating any weight loss surgery, I continue to highly recommend Dr. D. He is the best! Also, special thanks to the office staff for being responsive and efficient with scheduling.

I was on crutches, so she brought everything over to me, and she asked me to flag her down to pick everything up so I didn't have to struggle with my crutches. I have many medical appointments this last month, and she was the first one who made this very considerate and thoughtful offer. Abram and Alexis helped me with my X-rays. They were both very patient and kind. They made sure to help and support me. They were friendly throughout the process even when I stepped on a button that accidentally moved the bed. They were both very kind. Abigail checked me out. She was very patient in finding appointments that would work for me both as a follow up with Dr. Gipsman and for a first appointment for a second specialist in their office. She was smiling, friendly, professional, and kind. I met with Dr. Aaron M Gipsman to go over the results of the tests for my knee. He had excellent bedside manner. He answered all of mine and my husband's questions. He explained everything to our understanding and satisfaction. He explained everything he was doing during the exam and explained any findings afterward while consistently checking in with me to make sure I was fine. I was so pleased with this visit and team, that I came straight home to write this review. If you need an orthopedic surgeon for your knee, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Gipsman and his team.

I can't thank enough Dr. Billings and Dr. Movasaghi as well as their entire staff (specially Jennifer from PreOp) in helping my surgeries become the success they are and becoming! On late August I had the need to have trigger finger release surgery with Dr. Billings and on December 2nd I had total knee replacement surgery with Dr Movassaghi. And as I recover I would say that my surgeries were a success and becoming a success, all thanks to The attention at the Clinic, and the hospital, the time they took to answer my questions and to make sure that I understood everything that was being said and proposed, and their great efforts and professionalism. I really walked away satisfied and confident That I was in good hands. And I was, now that I can look forward to a full recovery on my knee replacement I like to think that I am in in good hands and I would 100% recommend this team to anyone in need for quality medical assistance. I had already planned to get a colonoscopy from a different doctor at a later date, but my GP recommended that I come to Dr. Akopian to get checked as soon as possible, because she thought it might be several weeks before I could get scheduled for a colonoscopy. Dr. Akopian was arrogant, belittling, and rude, suggesting that I was silly for even making the appointment, since my bleeding was so minor. He even asked me, "Why are you here?," as if I was an idiot for being concerned about bleeding from an area where I'd never bled before. Toward the end of the appointment, I told him I would get the colonoscopy from my other doctor. I planned to leave without an exam, because I was planning to be checked by my other doctor, and because Dr. Akopian did not seem worried. He then said, "OK, let's do an examination." I told him, "You don't need to do an exam." He responded, "Yes, I do." I repeatedly asked him why, and his only answer was, "I need to." Again, he was treating me like an idiot by refusing to give me a valid answer to my question. Assuming he had some legal reason for needing to do the exam, I succumbed to the pressure and let him do it. I didn't realize it would triple my medical bill. It took him about 45 seconds (no exaggeration), and I ended up getting billed $642 for the procedure on top of the $271 for the office visit. Before he did the exam, he told me it would be similar to a gynecological exam with a speculum, but he used a lighted scope, and then I was billed for an anoscopy. Do not go to this man, and never let any doctor force you into an exam, because they may just be trying to find a way to increase your bill.

It is hard to figure out what star review to leave. In terms of his bedside manner, knowledge, and…read morethe visit... I would happily give him five stars. However, I'm very frustrated with billing and felt compelled to leave a review so others who are going to see this doctor could be made aware. This is a doctor who bills both a FACILITIES and a PROFESSIONAL charge. So from my insurance, I got a big bill that was charged as a surgery (I am very familiar with this for colorectal care... When they scope with that little camera, it is considered a surgery FYI) which I was never pumped about, but very aware is part of the colorectal insurance billing scheme. What makes this doctor different is that I also got hit with a very, very large bill for a "facilities fee." I called my insurance and they said that usually there's a little sign or something that warns people who go to see that doctor that they will be receiving two bills, but I didn't see anything like that at Dr. Akopian's office. After an unsatisfying phone call with his billing department, where the representative said she just got off another call where another patient had called to complain about this practice for this exact doctor, she said the onus is on me to ask *every single doctor* I visit in the future if they will be billing both a professional fee and a facilities fee because it is there choice to do so. Which... Lesson learned I will definitely do. Because for this five minute appointment that I had with him, were the only thing recommended is that I buy fiber at Costco, I am now on the hook for much more than I paid for a 1) full on hand surgery that I had with another cedars, affiliated doctor, 2) having my baby at Cedar Sinai and the hospital stay, and 3) an invasive biopsy that I had this month that was also charged as a surgery. I liked his office staff. I liked the other medical staff that came into assist him, I liked him. But it really would've been nice to know upfront how this particular Doctor bills and that I should expect to see two separate bills . This is not the first colorectal specialist I have seen and this is definitely the first one I have received such a large double bill from. I could've gotten myself a round-trip tickets to paris but instead i got a recommendation ChatGPT easily could've given me. Hopefully, my experience benefits you ! If you book an appointment with him, make sure to ask if they will be billing both of those fees so you don't have sticker shock.
