But no one wanted to give us appointments I found Dr Zaghiyan through chat gbt as the best colon specialist that does the actual surgery. I caught her on a Sunday night by accident. I was so happy I told her my situation she was so nice and she gave me the appointment within a week. She had the staff called me next day to give me the appointment honestly. She was so nice and kind to my father she ended up doing a surgery my dad was stage 2 cancer and thankfully removed the cancer. She took us to the best hospital Cedars-Sinai that's where she did the surgery honestly the whole staff and the hospital was amazing. I truly just want to thank the doctor from the bottom of my heart for her sincerity and her kindness through this hard time me and my family were facing. Again thank you a million times and we're so grateful for you and so happy we found you after searching for the best doctor you are top of the line and the most knowledgeable doctor we have meet. Thank you for curing my dad and helping us all. My family and I will never forget your help and kindness through this hard time you are truly of a kind Dr Karen Zaghiyan. I saw Doctor Karen Zaghiyan and she scheduled my colonoscopy and my surgery immediately she explained the whole process to me. She's a very caring and has great bedside manners. She's very humble and I'm so thankful that she was the one who performed my surgery. I had to have 12 inches of my colon removed and I felt very comfortable and she made me feel very calm. I am a person who has a lot of anxiety when it comes to medical procedures. I feel very lucky to have had Doctor Karen Zaghiyan as my surgeon. I also wanna thank Shawna and Alba, who were very helpful through this process.

My husband was extremely sick and we were at a loss of where to go for help. Admitted at Cedars and not sure of a plan yet, Dr. Barnajian was placed into our lives. He was faced with the challenge of my husband's diagnosis and other medical roadblocks but never waivered in his dedication to giving everything he had so my husband could have a second chance at life. If it weren't for Dr. Barnajian and the amazing team of doctors at Cedar's Sinai, my husband wouldn't be here today. Dr. Barnajian is one of the most genuine, honest and professional doctors we have ever met. He is thorough, patient, understanding and honest. He isn't afraid to be transparent and that helped us navigate this very uncertain time in our lives with clarity and understanding about what we needed to do to on our part. The office staff is also wonderful, handling all insurance issues and scheduling and making my life just a little bit easier. Special shout out to Mayra, she's my go to girl! I'm really confused who is writing positive reviews, maybe people who has better insurance!…read more Because from my personal experience I've been treated not as nicely as reviews say. The overall experience at the doctor office was alright, but the staff who works there probably weren't interested in helping. Doctor was very nice and helpful. But the staff... To get a prescription it's was a total nightmare for me. The receptionist was telling me that she sent the prescription several times , but my pharmacy never received anything and they had to call several times to request it. Long story short eventually I have to request the actual prescription so I can do it myself. I was in pain for a week in a half. Also, doctor said I need to get colonoscopy and that I need to schedule it myself by emailing the doctor or she maybe will contact me myself. I emailed several times to the email that receptionist provided me, no response, I called left two messages , haven't received a call back. I called again a day ago and finally spoke with her. She advised that email is no longer valid ‍ Also she has a waitlist going on and if I don't have cancer it might be take a month or longer during Covid situations , which is understandable. But turn after linger conversation, I found out maybe it will be a week and she hasn't even requested an authorization yet. I asked her why and she said " well it's not urgent " I'm not sure what that means , but I'm in pain for few weeks already and can't even get a medicine either. While writing a review I received a call from receptionist if I want to be on a waitlist for a procedure and if I received the prescription ( that I need to bring myself (9 times walking to a pharmacy)) She said she doesn't know what's been going on , but maybe it's an error on pharmacy end. From my personal experience worth CVS pharmacy in West Hollywood they were pretty amazing about receiving prescription from different doctors for me and never had issues. I think I would trust a pharmacy then a doctor's office. Because it was more errors on their end. Probably after this review they might remove me from a list , but I'm hopeful and hopefully they will keep on the list. I'm not sure if I want to go through this experience again, where staff doesn't really care about patients.

I'm keeping my original review for continuity. This update is to show, using my own documentation,…read morehow biased and prejudicial language in medical notes can permanently distort a patient's credibility and access to care. I count myself lucky I met my new GI doctor, although treatment is complicated now because of my worsening injuries. Over the past four years I've had time to study what happened, review my records, and talk with professionals who helped me understand how the bias in my care took shape. The pain I was in left me cognitively impaired for a long time, which made it hard to see how dismissive the treatment really was while it was happening. Because of the wording used in my chart -- phrases like "patient is convinced" and "very likely psychosomatic" -- it's very likely the kind of language that led other doctors to dismiss my concerns and assume the problem was psychological. My injuries worsened, the connective tissue in my abdomen continued to tear, and I lost muscle support through my torso. A genetic condition was also upregulated and my skin permanently traumatized. That language still follows me through my medical record and continues to influence how I'm treated. Nearly four years later, I'm still trying to recover from my injury and the physical and psychological damage caused by dismissive, biased documentation and the prejudice that began in this office. I'm including Dr. Nowain's original notes, and other records that corroborate both the intense pain I was really in, the celiac artery compression and soft tissue damage, and the continual gaslighting using prejudicial language to dismiss my accounts and leave me in pain and suffering. These are all before the injury worsened. I can still hear Dr. Nowain's voice from that day in his office -- angry, certain: "You're having a panic attack!" When I said I wasn't, he replied, "That sounds just like something someone having a panic attack would say." It still plays in my head like I heard it yesterday. So, I guess there's only one thing left to say. Best of luck in all your health journeys, and remember: "One foot in front of the other, bravely forward. Always."

These days, it's rare to find a doctor who prioritizes your well-being over money. But this one does -- he actually wants to help you feel better. I'm beyond grateful to have him in my life. I trusted the recommendation of my friends and Yelp reviews, and I'm so glad I did. He is hands down one of the BEST DOCTORs out there.

The next time I walked in, I was immediately told my co-pay when I asked about the the credit I have on the account, the girl looked at me really confused, she acted like she had no idea what I was talking about while the girl next to her was telling another patient about having to pay for an appointment as well as the co-pay.
