I found Dr. Barnajian from a sight recommending good pilonidal cyst / abscess / disease doctors. Before I saw Dr B I went to another (more local) surgeon who I did not vibe with at all. As soon as I had an appointment with Dr B I was stoked at how thoroughly he answered my questions, and how many times he had done the operation prior. Between him and his office I truly felt like I would be in good hands to have the surgery. I was not the easiest patient to work with. I had problems with my insurance, had to move the surgery date, and had A LOT of questions. Thankful the support staff was responsive via email (which is much much preferred to me over phone calls) and was able to help with all of my problems. The srugery itself went very well. The surgery center was pleasant, nothing hurt and I felt welcomed and comfortable. Recovery was truly a breeze and much easier than I was expecting. Super happy with the operation, the healing, and the after care! The only gripe that I even remotely come close to having with SGLA is that being in the Cedars Medical buildings, parking is a pain in the butt (fitting eh) and expensive. Unfortunately I can't bill my insurance for that, but all in all it is super worth it, and I would happily go back and recommend Surgery Group of Los Angeles and Dr Barnajian to anyone and everyone. Be very careful trusting Surgery Group of LA with your confidential personal and medical information. As you can see by the attached picture, Surgery Group LA did not have good security measures in place as it relates to their IT network and systems. Their patients records were breached on July 8, 2023 and I am barely JUST NOW, 8 months later, getting a letter in the mail notifying me that all of my personal information was comprised during this breach. This includes my social security number, address, name, medical records & history, medications, diagnoses, billing information, insurance information, date of birth, and financial information. So basically, the attackers have literally all of my confidential information regarding my entire personal life. Imagine the havoc that can ensue from this. They are basically me at this point. This is absolutely unacceptable for a healthcare provider which is supposed to adhere to strict HIPAA standards. As a medical service provider, it your duty, above all other businesses, to ensure that you have the most secure network & systems infrastructure in place since you handle such sensitive information. It is your duty to your patients that you have a 24/7 top tier cybersecurity team monitoring and constantly testing the security of your network to ensure that your patients information is secured and private. Surgery Group LA failed me and several hundreds of other patients. As we all know, this information gets sold on the dark web and I can only imagine how many bad actors may have my personal information and in how many ways they will try to exploit. This is so incredibly stressful. Like I said, I don't understand how these medical service providers have such garbage security postures as it pertains to their network. You literally handle some of the most confidential information, yet you were probably being cheap and not investing in the security of your infrastructure. And this is what happens. Will never come to this provider again. You've lost all my trust and have given a nightmare of a headache to deal with for who knows how long. There should be reparations paid not some lame 12 month free credit check service. I will be looking at California law and exercising whatever rights I have as more needs to be done than just a 12 month free credit check service. This is literally my entire life that you just handled incredibly poorly and irresponsibly and now its out on the public internet on the hands of bad actors. Unacceptable. read more

It felt like he was really wanted the best outcome for me and treated me well. The check in staff is amazing. They are fast. They are thorough, answer all questions and a scheduling follow ups is easy. The real big hero in this office is Mayra. I don't even know where to begin. She worked so hard in squeezing me in for a procedure within 2 days. We got all the documentation needed, covid testes, blood work, etc all done within 2 days so they can accommodate a procedure based on my schedule. I took my mom who was recently diagnosed with cancer to see Dr. Cohen. My mom was so scared and indecisive . Dr Cohen was so gentle and so understanding where my mom's comes from. He was very compassionate and caring. I was so comfortable with the treatment he offered my mom. He explained everything in simple and understandable fashion and we left knowing exactly what needs to be done for her cancer. I have been going to Surgery Group LA for almost a year now. I went to Surgery Group LA with severe rear end pain and found out I had a pilonidal cyst. For anyone that has ever had a pilonidal cyst - they'll know it's an excruciating pain in the butt (no pun intended). After being initially treated by Dr. Moshe Barnajian, him and his incredible team helped me schedule the complete cyst removal. Dr. Barnajian was so patient and walked me through the entire procedure. Fast forward to a year later and I am still cyst free! I recently had a scare where I thought i may have developed another cyst so I immediately called Dr. Barnajian's office and his team was able to schedule me for an appointment within two hours. The customer service and friendliness of his team is unmatched and unlike anything I've EVER experienced in the medical industry. Dr. Steven Colquhoun is the BEST liver surgeon. He is as good as as it gets seriously the cream of the crop in my opinion. He performed liver surgery on me in 2003. At that time I was raising a little boy. I just wanted to be a great mom for him, and I believed so much in Dr. Colquhoun. Dr Colquhoun saved two lives that day and maybe more. Dr. Colquhoun is a wonderfully gifted and talented surgeon with impeccable skills. His attention to detail, and conservative thought process in his approach are quite impressive. At the time of my surgery there were not as many options as there are available today. I hope I wont require additional procedures, but Dr. Colquhoun is a world class surgeon no doubt about it. I interviewed several surgeons back then and as soon as I saw him I knew he was the surgeon that I would choose. Also, he was trained by the best. I was so blessed that he did my surgery. I am so appreciative and forever grateful to him. He is truly devoted to his profession as well as his patients care. Dr.Colquhoun is back at Cedars Sinai now, and I hope they never let him go because he is an outstanding doctor and surgeon. He was greatly missed by so many. He is exactly the kind of doctor all future generations of dr's should aspire to. He has been needed at many places, but I am thrilled he is at Cedars now with Surgery Group LA. I had a recent visit with Dr. Colquhoun due to some other health issues, and It was amazing to see him after 19 years. I am so happy that he will be back on my health care team overseeing things. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I trust him completely. He will surely leave no stone unturned. He is extraordinary and a perfectionist. For years I have mostly been my own doctor, but now I have the best I mean the greatest doctors and could not feel any better. I know how lucky I am. Deciding on a doctor is no easy task and my screening process should be a reality show to be honest. I have very high standards when screening for a doctor, and for a surgeon well you can imagine. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Jason Cohen at the Surgery Group of Los Angeles to remove what turned out to be a benign mass from my jawline. Dr. Cohen told me about possible, but highly unlikely, risks of nerve damage. I was a bit nervous about surgery on my face, but felt in good hands with Dr. Cohen. Not even sure where to begin on the EXCELLENT service, hospitality, and care this office maintains. Much to his credit, Dr. Leo Gordon oversaw an inguinal hernia I had and helped me monitor it for nearly 2 years. Further, from the time he suggested surgery to the actual operation itself, the hospitality and personal care was truly second to none. The hands down, BEST medical care I've received in my life. Not only was I (and my father who oversaw my surgery day of) taken care of through personal check-in's from the doctor, but his whole team was seemlessly detailed, kind, and attentive. I was never treated like a number. Both Dr. Gordon and his team (shoutout to Mayra) were always available to help answer questions, handle insurance questions, and assure me of any concerns. Most importantly, Dr. Gordon personally called me for the 4 days post-op to check in; this included weekends.
