the pear of short from Martha's closet they're really soft and love the stripes on them . and if you go there and you don't want to get something really expensive you can get stuff for a very low price and it's so awesome and the clothes are so great. and the people are so nice because if you like try stuff that you think will look not look good on the Shelf they say yes and I actually like your opinion. This place rocks. The owners are super nice and helpful. This is a consignment shop and it has THE BEST clothes and jewelry. I have gotten everything from shoes to hats to jeans. I'd like to add some support for the nicest little place to shop for clothes and accessories on the Vineyard. There's usually plenty of parking, the prices are fair, and you can find all kinds of sizes, styles and sweetness. Not only that, you can bring in your outdated/ unused/ unwanted clothes in order to get credit, which makes shopping even sweeter. I have found beautiful sweaters, jackets, belts and jewelry here. All affordable and all much nicer than some of the mass produced junkie t-shirts, polo shirts and pink pants that seem to take over the island in the summer. (But you can find some of those, too, if that is your thing.) This place is clean and easy to find, right near the Net Result in Vineyard Haven. Why go anywhere else? read more

I have been shopping here for years. I get to the island only 2 or 3 times a year but I never miss a trip to Martha's Closet. They have great brands and no junk to sort through. I've purchased purses nearly every visit, some were even new! Amazing prices. I've never walked out empty handed! They have nice jewelry as well. Not cheesy at all. The staff is friendly and helpful. I Have shopped here in the past, and my experience with the retail was marginal at best, the prices should be reflective of the quality of the item at hand including ware and tare of item, not only reflective of the label. This just seems quite ignorant and lacking in capacity in my opine. For this and the latter reason I will never shop here or encourage others to do so again. I visited this place in the summer show the owner some of my jewelry that I make and sell (upon her request). The manager/ owner, literally began to manhandle my things and toss them back and forth across her counter. There were also other customers in the store that she did this in front of, as well who seemed shocked by this appalling display of rudeness on her part. She is gruff and completely lacking in aplomb. There is a way to decline interest in something & still be tasteful and courteous, after all that is the aspect of the Vineyard those of us who know it well, hold dear, but the manager/owner is coarse and devoid of any common decency. Great selection of gently used clothing! The sale room is full of good deals. I found several nice items for good prices. My only suggestion is for the owner(s) to clear the space a little more because it was cramped with only a few customers inside. read more

I've been shopping at Martha's Closet for at least 5 or 6 years (maybe longer) and am never disappointed in the quality and selection.
