On a whim, we decided to try this café, and we're so glad we did! It was just a short three-minute walk from our hotel, making it incredibly convenient. The service was wonderful from the moment we walked in, and the food was delicious. The staff were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. If you like Tex-Mex and the Dallas Cowboys, Martha's Café is basically home field advantage. The big blue star out front tips you off, but once you step inside, the Cowboys memorabilia comes at you like Ed "Too Tall" Jones breaking through the line for a sack. It's bold, it's loud, and it sets the tone--but I didn't come here to admire the trophies. I came hungry. One look at the menu and the Huevos Rancheros called an audible. They brag about making their ranchero sauce in-house, and that alone earned a first-down conversion. The plate arrived perfectly set: refried beans lined up on one side, crispy hash browns on the other, and the huevos right down the middle like a power run straight up the gut. The ranchero sauce was the star player--rich, balanced, and smooth--moving the dish steadily downfield with every bite. The supporting cast held their blocks too. A fresh tortilla and a side of chips and salsa rounded out the play, giving the whole plate depth and balance instead of flash with no follow-through. This was a well-executed drive, not a trick play. Service was equally impressive, with waitresses darting between tables like running backs hitting their lanes and heading for the end zone. Cozy diner experience, with the theme of America's Team. Cowboys aside, Martha's a nice place for breakfast. The coffee is hot, and refills are aplenty. There was a lot of things to try, but I went with the special. Ham and Scrambled eggs, beans, hash, and choice if toast, corn or flour tortillas. It was good. Nothing difficult, just what you ordered. I'd prob try th chilaquiles next time. The diner is quiet at 7am, but it was filling up as we finished. The service was great from the moment I stepped in. Great breakfast. So great, I came back the next day. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious. I got the migas the first day, and two burritos the second day. One burrito was machaca con huevo and the other was potato egg and bacon. I left satisfied both days. I'll be back next time I'm in town. Go Cowboys! read more

Was in El Paso for a concert. The day we were leaving we didn't want to pay $60 for breakfast at the hotel or the airport. Yelp led me to Martha's Cafe. I am a huge Cowboys fan so of course I was at home. We were greeted with a smile, the food came out very quickly and was super delicious. I had the juevos rancheros. Wow. I can't say enough good things about Martha's Café. Located steps away from the ocean, this amazing Café is a staple of Manhattan Beach/ Hermosa Beach. On the weekends, you will encounter long lines of people eager to eat here, but staff handles it well, and wait times usually aren't as long as they tell you they will be. The Huevos Rancheros were bland and had no spice or kick. The beans were runny and the hash browns were meh. The portion wasn't all that filling. Was disappointed in the taste of the food and the portion size after reading all the fantastic reviews on here. I guess it's worth a look if you're wanting to see all the Cowboys crap. I came here while in town for a conference. It was decent, but probably not someplace I would try again. It's small, but quaint inside. It's clean and the staff is friendly. There's a huge Dallas Cowboys theme, so if you're not a fan then don't come here. The menu is in Spanish only, which was fine for me but might be challenging for some. I ordered the Chicharrones en Salsa Verde and an iced tea. A small bowl of chips and salsa verde was immediately brought to me. Those were my favorite part, but beware the salsa is spicy. My tea was good, but I was never offered a refill. The food came quickly but was not very flavorful. I ordered flour tortillas and was brought one. Careful if you order the Chicharrones as they are very gelatinous. In short, food was decent but probably not some place I would go back to. read more

This was our first time here, and it was fantastic. We were greeted and seated promptly to a clean table. The coffee was hot and delicious. The chorizo and eggs were on point along with the beans and hashbrowns. The chile rellenos were delicious and came with rice and beans. Pancakes were soft, light, and fluffy, super yummy. This is definitely a small family owned restaurant. Service was great, if you are a Cowboys fan then this might be a really cool place for you. Now... the food... affordable BUT lacking taste. With the exception of the coffee everything was very bland. The enchilada sauce was weak in flavor, chilaquiles, lacking flavor. Rice and beans were ok after adding salt and pepper, flautas were also very unsatisfactory. They were out of half if the stuff on the menu and had been for some time, totally understanding due to supply shortages but maybe either mention this ahead if time or modify your menu to show this. I ordered 3 things, and after each one was told they didn't have it so I finally asked jokingly "well what do you suggest that you actually have? Lol Like I said, nice folks, cool little spot but simply lacking flavor on the food.. I will note that the salsa that was served with the chips was really good. read more

My husband and I were staying in downtown at Paso del Norte for a friend's wedding. Instead of paying for the hotel's bfast, we decided to walk around and find a local mom and pop spot. We are so glad we found Martha's Cafe!!! The food was delicious, you can tell the refried beans are made from scratch and our server was great. Not to mention the prices were so low. We would easily pay double or more in Austin for subpar food. The spot is full of locals going about their mornings, which we loved. I'm from the Rio Grande Valley and can spot legit Mexican food when I have it, and this is as legit as it gets. We are a multi-cultural family and went here for lunch. We sat ourselves and were ignored for around 10 minutes before we got the message that we were unwelcome and left. I would have written it off as being busy with the lunch crowd, but obvious Spanish speakers came in after us and were warmly greeted and told about the daily specials. I know this because I speak Spanish even though I don't look it. They made terrible and awful assumptions about us and we'll never go there again. What makes it worse is my young kids had to experience it too. read more
